This 2017 Futura is a lightweight, all-aluminum tandem-axle trailer designed to accommodate low-clearance vehicles. It features a flared-tail design, removable fenders, and an electric winch system for efficient loading. With a gross vehicle weight rating of 7,000 lbs, this trailer is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.
The anodized aluminum construction offers a corrosion-resistant silver finish with polished aluminum fenders. It rides on 14” alloy wheels wrapped in LT185R14C 8-ply tires rated at 55 PSI with a matching spare. The extruded aluminum deck provides a high-traction surface, and integrated LED lighting includes recessed taillights, clearance lights, and marker lights. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Additional features include a full-length airline track system and slotted chassis rails for flexible tie-down configurations. The electric winch uses synthetic rope and a wireless remote, and a lockable front box contains the deep-cycle battery and charging components. Dual 3,500-lb torsion axles with independent suspension, 10” electric drum brakes, and a breakaway safety system complete the setup. The seller adds that new bearings were installed in December 2018, and a new trailer winch line was installed in 2023.
This trailer is offered with a clean title.

@kerrywittig the ball I have is 2 5/16" And, yes. The fenders are fastened with four screws each with hex keys. The left front, however, is fastened with twist bolts I bought to remove a bit more easily to let my driver's door pass.

Two quick questions…
What size hitch 2” or 2 5/16”?
Are the fender(s) easily removable?
Thank you.

@CopperBullitt It weighs about 1,350 pounds. I think it's on the tag in the photographs.
What is the dry / empty weight of the trailer ?
@gt2guy Good question. When I purchased my Cayman R full race, I was concerned it was too low. I purchased the twist bolts to remove the fender and make room for the driver's door. Then, I easily replace that fender after loading. Brilliant. :)
why does one of the fenders have black knobs on it.?
@993David Hi, David, There are three cables. The line on the winch is fiber, like nylon. It was originally stainless steel. This was replaced when the winch cable broke. This was a weak spot in the system Futura acknowledge and replaced for free. The other two cables are stainless steel. One drives the left rotational hubs and the other, the right.
👍🏻👍🏻
@GWP44 I have tried to video the action but I can't seem to email myself the 43 meg file. I texted it to the PCAR guys. We'll see.
There's a 2,500 pound winch in the took box in front, a battery and a small solar maintenance panel on top of the box. This keeps the battery charged. With the fob included, one presses the up button. This actuates the winch, winding up and pulling the cable-wrapped pullies under the bed of the trailer, thus rotating the torsion hubs, rising the bed. A down button reverses this, dropping the bed. I suggest you visit Futura Trailer's website. There you will find videos showing exactly how it works. Really quite brilliant.
@seller is the winch cable that raises and lowers the trailer synthetic or steel?
Bid in the amount of $3,500
How do you lower the trailer for loading a vehicle?
@JimHawkins Hi, Jim. I getcha. Thanks for clarifying. I'm soon to posting my Cayman R race car. I was going to sell it with the trailer; but they suggested selling each separately would be better. Enjoy your day!
Hello - Early on, PCARMarket only allowed Porsches to be sold on the site. Later, they opened up to other "non-Porsche" brands. I you notice, there are other things like "air-cooled" as tags for the vehicles. Remnant from earlier days when the site was different, that is all.
@GWP44 Sorry. I have no idea what non-Porsche even means in this regard.
@Leonardway The tires are original. No dry rot, great tread. They're prefect. I only used it 8 times. No brake work has been done. It was manufactured in 2017.
Bid in the amount of $3,000
Under categories: where it states non- Porsche. What does that mean?
Bid in the amount of $2,250
Bid in the amount of $2,000
Are the tires original or have they been replaced? If so, what is the year made? Have the brakes been serviced?
@LA13 At 6'5" my Cayman fits nicely with about 2-3" of clearance from outside the tires and the sideboards/runners with the oblong holes.
Or upload it to YouTube and send a link in the chat section.
@arobinson0842 Just upload the video to this site. They will post it here..
@arobinson0842 sorry - blaming Google translation. I meant the width of the trailer / in other words what’s the total clearance. Trying to understand the widest car I can tow with it.
@oldsouth I made a 59 second video with my Samsung S10 ; but at about 35 megs, it's too large to email to myself. I'll keep trying.
@LA13 3 feet 1.5 inches hub-to-hub
Question for @selller : what’s the distance between the axles?
@oldsouth Yes. It's next to my house at the moment. I'll video it and find a way to send it to you this weekend. It's great! I just have to figure out how to get that to you.
@SignsbyJMHarley The bed is 16 feet 5 inches long. It is 6 feet 6.5 inches wide.
Could we get a video of it operating?
What is the length and with of the trailer
Thanks
John
