The first mid-engine Ferrari to use a turbocharged V8 engine since the legendary F40 supercar, the Ferrari 488 was acclaimed as "The Supercar of the Year 2015" by Top Gear magazine and "Best Driver's Car" by Motor Trend in 2017. This 2017 Ferrari 488 Spider wears a traditional combination of Rosso Corsa paint over tan leather upholstery and is said to be one of the two cars used in CBS’s Magnum P.I. TV series (2018). It was reportedly the “beauty car” which was designated for close-up scenes with the actors and was rarely driven. It came factory equipped with Daytona-style seats, stitched headrests, yellow brake calipers, Scuderia fender shields, a carbon fiber steering wheel, a front suspension lifter, parking sensors, a rearview camera, sport exhaust pipes, and more. Accompanied by original Magnum P.I. transcripts as well as its iconic “ROBIN 2” Hawaii license plates, this iconic Ferrari 488 Spider is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing just over 13k miles on the odometer.

The bodywork of the Ferrari 488 was designed by Flavio Manzoni at the Ferrari Styling Centre. It achieves 50% more downforce than its predecessor the 458 Italia by using an integrated rear spoiler, double front splitter, a larger rear diffuser, and a central “Aero Pillar” that guides air past the underbody. This Spider is finished in traditional Rosso Corsa with a matching retractable roof and features optional Scuderia fender shields, yellow-painted brake calipers, sport exhaust pipes, and 20” forged dark-painted rims dressed in new Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The seller notes an additional set of silver rims is included which was used during filming for Magnum P.I. A small scratch is noted on the lower front spoiler, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The tan leather interior is appointed with optional Daytona-style seats featuring Cavallino Rampante-stitched headrests as well as a carbon fiber steering wheel with integrated LED rev counter lights. Other options include front and rear parking sensors, a rearview parking camera, a front suspension lifter, and the Advanced Frontlighting System (AFS). The car also includes automatic climate control, an instrument cluster with two digital TFT screens, and a Manettino drive-mode selector on the steering wheel.

Power comes from an all-aluminum 3.9-liter V8 engine paired with twin ball-bearing twin-scroll turbochargers and dual intercoolers. Up to 660 HP is sent to the rear wheels by way of a Getrag 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission allowing acceleration from 0 to 60 MPH in under 3 seconds and a top speed of over 200 MPH. Performance features include Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, a magnetorheological active suspension, an E-Diff3 electronic limited-slip differential, and Ferrari Side-Slip Angle Control advanced traction control. The seller notes the car has been routinely serviced by Ferrari of Honolulu and there are no outstanding maintenance items.

This sale will include original TV transcripts and “ROBIN 2” license plates, the original TV-used set of rims, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a car cover, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This is the actual vehicle used in the TV Series Magnum P.I. There were two vehicles used in the show. This one was used for the close-up shots of the actors and was rarely driven. The car was purchased from Ferrari of Honolulu with 12k miles on it and was used on the show for 6 seasons. The car has been fully serviced by Ferrari of Honolulu and the tires have been newly replaced. Own a piece of Television History with the car seen worldwide on the new series of MAGNUM PI. It comes with the ROBIN 2 Hawaii plates!!”
