Successor to the E87 1M, the BMW F87 M2 followed in its footsteps with nimbleness and sport-focused abilities. The high-performance 2-Series debuted in 2015 with a turbocharged N55 inline-six along with suspension and brakes borrowed from the M3/M4. This 2017 example was ordered in Mineral Grey Metallic over a Black Dakota leather interior with blue contrast stitching and equipped with a 7-speed M Twin Clutch transmission. Upgraded with Ohlins coilovers, a CSF intercooler, APEX forged wheels, and more, this example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing less than 42k miles on the odometer.

This example comes finished in Mineral Grey Metallic accented with high-gloss black Shadowline trim. The M2 can be distinguished from a standard 2-Series by its widened wheel arches, aerodynamic front bumper, revised side skirts, and rear diffuser with quad exhaust tips. Factory blue-finished M-branded brake calipers can be seen behind a set of Race Silver APEX EC-7R wheels dressed in Hankook RS4 tires from 2022. The seller adds that front-end paint protection film has been applied and lowering springs have been fitted for a more aggressive stance. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The interior is upholstered in Black Dakota leather with blue contrast stitching and carbon fiber trim. Amenities include power adjustable heated sport seats, Comfort Access keyless entry, automatic climate control, a BMW iDrive infotainment system with GPS navigation, Bluetooth, and XM satellite radio. The seller adds that an Alcantara and carbon fiber CS steering wheel has been fitted along with an upgraded Bavsound speaker system and a red start button.

The M2 is powered by a specially tuned version of the 3.0-liter turbocharged N55 inline six-cylinder engine that produces 365 HP and 343 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 7-speed M Twin Clutch transmission. Modifications include a CSF intercooler, aftermarket charge pipes, and Ohlins Road and Track coilovers. Additionally, the seller reports a full service was performed upon their acquisition.

This sale will include a clean title (lien), owner’s manuals, and a toolkit.

The seller would like you to know: “A pre-purchase inspection will be provided for those who bid. I love this car and hate to list it, but my only hope is for it to go to someone that’ll appreciate it for what it is.”

@Gjohn_ston Work and life got in the way so what was planned for more track days and fun this summer ended in responsibilities. This car has been a fantastic daily/track car.

  • Gjohn_ston (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@AlfieohAlfie Excellent. I'm currently looking for a reliable daily driver than I can take to the track for occasional lapping fun ... sold my full-on-race car (1:25 at Big Willow) and not interested in going down that slippery slope again, but your car has a number of tasteful mods that cost money and I would probably end up doing anyway. Any reason you ended up doing only 2 track days?

  • AlfieohAlfie (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@Gjohn_ston the software is not transferable, however, if the buyer preferred to have the catless Downpipe and stage 2 software reinstalled I can have that done no problem what so ever.

Just the coilovers and new strut mounts. I did add the lug conversion to make side to side rotations easier at that track.

    The Apex EC-7r are 18x9.5 et28 Front and 18x10.5 et40 Rear wrapped in 265/40 and 285/40.
The alignment is currently a factory alignment which is about -1.8 rear camber.

The brakes are fantastic from the factory, I fitted EBC blue stuff up front and yellows in the rear for a little more bite. Paired with the stainless lines. Stopping and pedal feel is incredible.
The only mods the previous owner had done was the charge pipe.

The vehicle does have a rear view camera, yes.

Wondering if you could you provide more details on the upgrades:
    1. Power -- bigger intercooler is usually to accommodate other mods, such as intake, downpipe, cat, exhaust, etc. Also it sounds like there was software that you removed back to stock? Is the aftermarket s/w license transferable?
    2. Suspension -- anything besides coilovers (control arms, sway bar, camber plates, spacers, etc)? Is there a lot of neg camber?
    3. Wheels -- what size are the Apexes? Is this a square setup?
    4. Brakes -- any mods?
Also, did you do these mods or did the previous owners(s)? And to what extent do the factory pieces come with the car?
And, finally, looks like it doesn't have the exec package/rear-view camera?
    Thanks!

    @AlfieohAlfie good to hear, thanks!

@Gjohn_ston I’m also in California and aware of the seller being responsible for smog. The intercooler or charge pipe shouldn’t be an issue being I purschased it from a dealership with the charge pipe. I removed the software and installed the stock catalyst so I could continue to drive it and set the readiness monitors for smog. If the inspector I use were to flag it for the charge cooler I have no issues installing the factory one.
All the factory parts will be provided with the sell of the vehicle. Hope this helps!

  • Gjohn_ston (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

I’m in CA and I believe the seller needs to supply a smog certificate for cars over 3 years old. Do you see any issue there? (I’m not sure whether the intercooler and charge pipes and perhaps other mods would be a red flag).
    Thanks.

@HemiSam I’m a big fan of greys in general. Mineral Grey is a fantastic color choice for this car indeed.

  • HemiSam (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

Great looking M...love the mineral gray on this car.

  • AlfieohAlfie (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@Seanm500 yes, I’ve tracked this car twice. Once at Big Willow and the other at Autoclub speedway.

FYI PCM the N55 engine does not have twin turbochargers…it has a single twin-scroll turbocharger. Beautiful car though and good luck with sale!
