Up for auction is this 2016 Porsche 981 Cayman GT4 finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic over a black leather interior with deviated stitching in Platinum Grey and lightweight carbon bucket seats. Built by BGB Motorsports, this 2016 example features a host of high-end upgrades including a 4.0L X51 stroker engine with custom dyno tuning, an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, GT3 RS style fenders, a regeared transmission with a Guard limited-slip differential, Brembo brake rotors, JRZ suspension, and much more. Now with just over 13k miles showing on the odometer and less than 1,500 miles on the newly built engine, this GT4 is being offered for auction by its owner out of Colorado.
This GT4 comes finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic and features RS1 GT3 RS style front fenders, APR carbon fiber side intake scoops, and a BBI rear wing riser. The car had previously been covered in a full exterior vinyl wrap which has since been removed by the current owner. A new front lip spoiler has been recently installed along with a layer of clear paint protection film over the full front end, rocker panels, and side wings. Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The aftermarket 19" Titan 7 forged wheels come dressed in a set of brand new Birdgestone Potenza RE71R tires.
Inside, this 981 features a black leather and Alcantara interior with deviated stitching in Platinum Grey and factory carbon fiber bucket seats. Additional factory equipment includes a fire extinguisher, 2-zone automatic climate control, Bi-Xenon headlights in black, the Light Design Package, and the Sport Chrono Package. Modifications include seatbelts in Speed Yellow, custom floor liners, a yellow-painted GMG roll bar, and 6-point safety harnesses for the driver and passenger. A new Alcantara sport steering wheel has been recently installed as well. The seller confirms all factory instrumentation and accessories to be fully functional.
This first-generation GT4 is equipped with a naturally aspirated flat-six engine derived from the 991 Carrera S, which has been custom-built by BGB Motorsports to 4.0L X51 stroker specifications including CNC ported heads, Cargraphic stainless steel race manifolds, a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, FNC filters, and a custom stage III BGB dyno tune. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a custom geared 6-speed manual transmission with closer ratios, a lightweight clutch kit, and a Guard limited-slip differential. The stopping power has been improved with Brembo two-piece brake rotors and Race Technologies RE10 Endurance brake pads. The suspension has also been overhauled with an Umbrell Design front-end lift kit, JRZ RS Pro 2-way adjustable dampers, JRZ camber plates, a DSC sport control module, and TPC toe links. Corrsponding invocies from BGB Motorsports are provided in the gallery.
Less than 1,500 miles are said to have been driven on the newly built engine and the seller states that all services and inspections have been kept up to date as well as a recent oil change. A check engine light is said to come on intermittently as a result of the cat-less headers. A recent pre-purchase inspection from Blue Chip Services is available for reference in the photo gallery.
This sale will include some invoices and a clean title along with the original fenders, side scoops, floor mats, exhaust headers, toe links, and other assorted parts. A car built for the most demanding drivers, there was no expense spared in taking the performance of this GT4 to the next level, both on and off the track.

Video of lifts uploaded! Trying to get a DME schedule in but everyone is extremely backed up.
@NOLADRIVER Top right under the general info of the car. There's a button that says Contact Seller
@yoojeankim How do I send you a DM?
@NOLADRIVER yes just contact me direct so i can give you my #
@yoojeankim Would you be open to showing me the car via facetime?
@NOLADRIVER I'm parting with the car because I'll be moving soon and will need to reduce the amount of cars i own. The car is very streetable, the main focus was to make sure it was a track weapon and daily drivable as well. I took it to Bluechip to just get an alignment and a quick inspection, as you can see by the documentation provided it passed with flying colors
Also how were the client concerns addressed by Blue Chip? What were their answers?
Why is the seller parting with the car?
Is this car streetable?
Bid in the amount of $83,500
@bldn10 sorry i replied to your comment in an earlier post but on Pcar you have to press reply instead of just doing the @. The car was on rennlist for a very short period of time but i decided i didn't want to deal with tire kickers.
@yoojeankim from Sharkwerks page, BGB site isn't as informative. Looks like possibly at the time of the build the option for 1st/2nd wasn't available. I never felt like 2nd was too long with this power/gear setup.
@BidAllWinNone "The most common complaint among journalists and enthusiasts for the GT4 is that the gears are just too long for the 3.8L engine in this chassis. The ideal solution would be a complete re-gearing of 1st through 6th gears. However, that comes at an enormous cost for small batch parts and engineering 1st and 2nd gears will likely not be an option for years, if ever.
We have tested re-gearing on our own project GT4 and have settled on a solution that changes 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears to shorter, closer ratios (approx difference is 14% in 3rd, 18% in 4th, and 16% in 5th). This allows shifting to 3rd gear sooner when needed, or staying in 2nd til the normal shift point and jumping to a better position in the powerband in 3rd, and staying in 3rd gear in more situations (ie mid-low speed corners) with improved acceleration. By shortening 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears, you have closer ratios and stay in the powerband longer through typical top speeds, and will be able to retain the original freeway overdrive gear, since 6th gear is unchanged."
If I'm reading the invoice right, 2nd gear was not touched when it's the gear every one whines about? Lol
Bid in the amount of $83,000
also just to clarify the Umbrella lift kit, raises all 4 corners. I will try to get a video for you guys to show.
@Dishopsh Hey ill be uploading a dyno sheet from BGB that had the same package. I'm trying to setup getting the DME report this weekend or first thing next week
it did not "sell" on rennlist. I posted it for a day and realized i should post this car on Pcar.
Please post custom dyno tuning results.
incredible car and great owner!
It's like a GT4 RS well before Porsche offers one. I love it!
I thought this car just sold on Rennlist. ???!
Great looking car. Are you willing to post the dyno results? DME report?
What a machine!
Hey guys! thanks for visiting my auction. Let me know if there any additional questions/concerns. I'll check as often as possible
