Closing the naturally aspirated flat-six Cayman’s chapter, the 2016 Porsche 981 Cayman Black Edition debuted with a stealthy color scheme, 20” Carrera Classic wheels, special accessories, and a host of premium features as standard equipment. Specified in premium Jet Black Metallic, this example was further configured with the Leather Package, front seat ventilation, the BOSE Surround Sound System, and Porsche Active Suspension Management. Delivered new to the current owner at Porsche Marin of Strawberry, California, in September 2016, this meticulously maintained example is now being offered for auction with less than 9k miles showing on the odometer.
As a Black Edition, standard features include bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), front & rear ParkAssist, automatically dimming mirrors with a rain sensor, and 20” Carrera Classic wheels. This 981 Cayman was ordered in Jet Black Metallic and rides on Pirelli P Zero tires from 2016. Other equipment includes front fog lights, side air intakes, optional power-folding side mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a center-mounted exhaust outlet. @Vdm9 Totally agree with this take — the 6-speed transforms the 981 into something really special. It’s one of those cars that reminds you why you fell in love with Porsche in the first place: direct, connected, and engaging in a way modern cars often aren’t. The balance, the sound, and the way it pulls through the gears make it a true driver’s car.
Anyone who’s been looking for a modern Porsche with the soul of the air-cooled era but the reliability of the newer models will find it here. These don’t come up often with such low-mileage and like-new condition, and they’re still a bit of a hidden gem in the market. Whoever ends up with this one is going to be very happy.

Having the sister car with 4k mi and a Boxster 981 pdk, the 6 Spd makes the car. The gearing is different and the car is more alive!!! These are truly underrated cars. You can really DRIVE these cars. I collect air cooled cars and these 981 cars are the closest feeling to that Porsche essence in a modern car.
