I am holding the inspection report every box is checked Pass and 6 ignitions in Range 1

  • PCARMARKET 4 years, 1 monthago

We just spoke with the seller on the telephone and he is currently at the dealership.

They just pulled the DME and it will come with the sale. 6 ignitions in range 1 is the only reading to report. Range 2,3,4,5,6 are all 0 over-revs

They are also taking care of 2 open recalls at the moment.

  • PCARMARKET 4 years, 1 monthago

@rmunro Hello. It would be an extremely rare occurrence for us to extend an auction, let’s make it a goal to try and have the report to us before the auction ends. You can even simply ask the dealer just for the overrev portion and not the complete report. If it is not possible please let us know and we will take under consideration.

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@Irish23 I am paying for the report so yes. However, the deadline may expire before I have the report. I have asked PCARMARKET to extend the auction assuming it is fair to do that. No answer yet.

  • Irish23 (registered bidder) 4 years, 1 monthago

@rmunro, Will you share the DME report and pre-inspection for other interested bidders to review?

@MW911 I have a tentative appointment at Checkered Flag in Virginia Beach at 2PM today. The DME report is included with the Pre-Sale Inspection. Cost is $351 I will pay for it myself. I apologize for delays this week due to my business issues resolved late yesterday. The dealership is without power at the moment they will call me if they cannot work today.

  • MW911 (registered bidder) 4 years, 1 monthago

@rmunro Good morning I would prefer a Porsche store however if they have the capability I will accept it. Please confirm pricing around $300 and additionally if I am paying for it the information should be sent to me only and not posted.

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@Dozer Paint is original. No Bra. Thanks for asking. Looks good and well polished.

  • Dozer (registered bidder) 4 years, 1 monthago

Is all the paint original? Any clear bra? Thanks.

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@MW911 I will call locally Thursday AM and see what can be done about the test. Will you accept an independent (Autohaus Yorktown or Williamsburg) if they have the test equipment? I will check Euroclassics and Checkered Flag Porsche as well.

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@MW911 Ok PCARMARKET called me and suggested I cooperate in completing the DME inspection so I will do it if you can point me toward a place, date and time. Thanks.

@MW911 Once I fully understand an acceptable bid I would cooperate in that endeavor. Nearest dealers are in Richmond (my preference) or Virginia Beach.

@PCARMARKET @rmunro I would like to clarify as I am happy to pay for a DME report and/or inspection and would appreciate help coordinating / scheduling that as requested on day one. Please advise on how to do so and if possible?

  • PCARMARKET 4 years, 1 monthago

@MW911 Hello. We do understand the importance of a DME to some bidders which is why you are welcome to request one from the seller at your expense. You may not bid with a contingency unless it is approved by the seller as all bids are final. If the seller agrees to a contingency it is up to them to do so but that would need to be approved in advance. Thank you.

  • MW911 (registered bidder) 4 years, 1 monthago

@rmunro I appreciate your point however with any Manual transmission Porsche a DME report is important to understand the overall health of the transmission even if the vehicle drives perfectly. Please understand any offer made will be pending a satisfactory DME report. Thanks

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@MW911 I am not scheduling either of those checks at this time. In my view the VA STATE inspection hits all of the most common potential problems. I have driven the car for over three years now and have had no reason to do either of the checks you suggest. I was satisfied that the documentation I received when I bought the car was sufficient as well. The Porsche dealer in Richmond and AUOHAUS here have been very good about suggesting checks.

  • MW911 (registered bidder) 4 years, 1 monthago

Good morning, any update on DME report and Inspection at a Porsche facility?

  • BudWill2020 4 years, 2 monthsago

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 2 monthsago

@MW911 Thanks for the reminder. My CARFAX subscription has lapsed. On August 1 2016 the dealer record says "Sublet for paintless dent removal." The discrepancy states "Passenger side rear 1/4 panel dent" I cannot detect any dents in the right rear quarter panel myself.

  • MW911 (registered bidder) 4 years, 2 monthsago

It looks like the CarFax shows it was damaged also? If it was do you know what happened?

  • pshousto 4 years, 2 monthsago

@pshousto @rmunro, just saw your reply to a similar query on that.

  • pshousto 4 years, 2 monthsago

Are there any transferable warranties remaining on the vehicle?

  • guns4you 4 years, 2 monthsago

    @scragin No.

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 2 monthsago

@smokeat225 I cannot tell from the documents I have. The signature on the California Document is a Porsche Cars North America rep. My memory says the car was purchased at Stevens Creek Porsche San Jose so that would be my best guess.

Is there any kind of warranty on the replacement engine?

  • smokeat225 (registered bidder) 4 years, 2 monthsago

@rmunro Who did the head replacement?

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 2 monthsago

@smokeat225 There have been no problems of any kind since I bought the car in June 2017 so that action noted above seemed to have done the job.

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 2 monthsago

@smokeat225 The documentation I have is from a " California Warranty Buyback Notice" entry dated 08/19/16 under the heading "Repairs Made, if any, to Correct Reported Problem(s)." The Problem stated is "Check Engine Light" the third such entry since 5/27/16. The repair made states "Replaced bank 2 head, lifters solenoids and engine. Bled cooling and clutch systems"

  • smokeat225 (registered bidder) 4 years, 2 monthsago

Do you have any documentation on the new engine? It says it was installed before Porsche bought it back, was the new engine still unable to solve the check engine warning?

  • MW911 (registered bidder) 4 years, 2 monthsago

@rmunro TY, I would be interested in you having one done as well as a DME report before placing a firm bid.

  • rmunro (seller) 4 years, 2 monthsago

@MW911 No. Latest Virginia State Inspection by Autohaus here in Williamsburg. Latest service oil change and recall work at Euroclassics Porsche in Richmond.

  • MW911 (registered bidder) 4 years, 2 monthsago

NM, separate comment not applicable. Good luck and I will wait on a response to my previous question. TY

Hello, have you had a recent PPI performed at a local Porsche center? I also have question off site which I send a separate note. Thanks

My Porsche CAB has run perfectly since I bought it in June 2017. Great power, smooth shifter, lots of options and appearance is striking. I was fully aware of the drama associated with the first owner but what persuaded me was looking at a Consumer Reports vid test drive for the 2016 Carrera S Manual that made me smile. 100% Porsche. Acceleration is awesome when you hit 3000RPM full throttle its like a dual afterburner kicks your seat. ?
