Combining an open-air driving experience with the high-performance characteristics of the Cayman GT4, Porsche's 981 Boxster Spyder features unique styling and a powerful 3.8-liter flat-six engine. This 2016 example is finished in Racing Yellow over a black leather and Alcantara interior with deviated stitching. It was ordered with optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), the Carbon Fiber Interior Package, Infotainment Package with Burmester Surround Sound, painted exterior trim, Sport Tailpipes, illuminated door sills, and much more. A lifelong West Coast car, this collector-quality Boxster Spyder is now being offered by its seller out of Arizona showing approximately 200 miles showing on the odometer.
The Boxster Spyder shares an aggressive front fascia and rear diffuser with the Cayman GT4 and features a unique ducktail spoiler and rear decklid with distinctive double fairings. This 981 is finished in Racing Yellow with optional painted supplemental safety bars, rear side air intakes, Sport Tailpipes, tinted taillights, and SportDesign side mirrors with lower trim in high gloss black. It rides on 20” Boxster Spyder Design wheels in silver with Pirelli P Zero tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black leather and Alcantara interior is accented by deviated Racing Yellow stitching and optional carbon fiber trim extending to the gear lever, center console, and illuminated door sill guards. Other options include Sport Seats Plus backrest shells in leather, pedals and footrest in aluminum, a smooth black leather steering wheel, door opening loops with decorative stitching, and the Infotainment Package with Burmester High-End Surround Sound System. The driver is also supplied with heated seats, 2-zone automatic climate control, the Light Design Package, a reversing camera, Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), automatically dimming mirrors, an extended-range fuel tank, and Bluetooth mobile phone preparation.
Derived from the Carrera S, the Boxster Spyder is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine producing up to 375 HP and 309 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission and stopping power is handled by optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). The Boxster Spyder also comes standard with a 20mm lowered Sport Suspension, Sport Exhaust, the Sport Chrono Package, and a limited-slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). The CARFAX report shows service completed most recently by Prestige Audi of Colorado in September 2022.

@Damaho912 makes sense; cant hurt to try
@switchcars Racing yellow doesn’t look that vivid in person, this looks more like the old Speed yellow. These photos were in a certain light or the color kicked up a few notches.
@minijag not unusual for a RNM car on one auction platform to show up on another and meet the same fate (often not even getting to the high bid from the previous auction). We’ll see what happens here.
Such a shame. In six years, NOBODY got to enjoy this! Hoping the next owner actually does!
I usually can't stand yellow, especially on a Porsche. But this car....wooooo. Really hot. I dig it.

The 981 Spyder is more fun to drive than 718. How do I know?
This car needs a new Owner that will drive it and enjoy it for 100,000 miles!
Bid in the amount of $25,000
I never wanted a Boxster until a Speed Yellow BS6 dropped into my lap. That car has earned its keep as a bullet-proof track car for the past six years. It would look an ugly duckling next to this Speedster. But it loves to drive. I hope the bidder that ends up with this beautiful conversation piece will enjoy it as much.
@minijag Yes it is, there it was bid to $110k and didn’t sell.
I can’t imagine it going higher…
so this is the same one just listed on BAT that didnt sell (I presume)? its lovely; wish it had more of the yellow accents on the interior
Boy someone lost all sorts of restraint with the options boxes on this one! What else could you get?!?
I wish she had about 15k miles on her so she’d be a reasonable sale, I suspect it’s going to take a very specific buyer willing to pay the sellers expected price here!
One of very few cars I’d consider selling my 4C spider to obtain.
Bid in the amount of $10,000
A bit large for a Christmas tree ornament. Why isn’t someone driving this???
Love this build!
@onlymanuals it appears the market is softening, This 200 mile one needs to go to a collector though. I’d just ruin it by driving it ?. Glwa
@jhyldahl9441 I just added the build sheets to the gallery.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
I wonder if this has a more reasonable reserve from when it was on BAT or if it's just as high...
Stunning!
MSRP sticker? List price info?
Thanks.
If I bought her I’d drive her, she deserves the love! Just enough to show her I care!
