Based on the original Cayman GT4, the Porsche 981 Boxster Spyder features a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. Believed to be one of only 850 for the U.S., this 2016 example is presented in Black over a matching leather and Alcantara interior with deviated red stitching. It came factory optioned with a 64-liter fuel tank, two-zone automatic climate control, and the Infotainment Package with BOSE Surround Sound. Also riding on custom Ruger Mesh wheels, this Spyder was acquired by the current owner about a year ago and is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey with approximately 11k miles on the odometer.

This Spyder comes finished in Black with a matching retractable soft top and features lightweight aluminum doors, a ducktail rear spoiler, GT4-derived fascias, and a signature double-streamliner decklid over the rear. The car rides on a set of custom 20” Avant Garde Ruger Mesh wheels. The CARFAX report shows a salvage title issued by the state of Florida in 2017 following damage to the right side and rear end, and subsequent repairs are said to have been completed by a Porsche specialist. The seller reports the driver’s side door and rear quarter panel were also recently refinished to address stone chips.  Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a full CARFAX report.

The cabin features optional black leather and Alcantara upholstery complemented by red deviated stitching. The dashboard is said to have been previously replaced by Porsche at a cost of over $6k and a complete list of factory equipment is provided below:

The largest and most powerful engine equipped for a Boxster at the time, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six in the 981 Spyder delivers up to 375 HP and 309 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission.  The Spyder is equipped as standard with a 20mm lowered Sport Suspension, Sport Exhaust, the Sport Chrono Package, and a limited-slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV).  Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in as little as 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 180 MPH.  The CARFAX report shows service completed by Porsche Monmouth of New Jersey in December of 2021 at 10,758 miles.

This sale will include a branded salvage title.

I’ve added a report for Anthony’s auto body, they measure the frame and all the points on the car, they also measure the wheel wells please see report in the photo gallery.

    Hi everyone,
I’m going to try and answer everybody’s questions and one reply. The car was hit on the passenger side door, the door the back corner panel had to be replaced. There was no damage to the frame or the engine, I have the frame measure by an auto body shop in which it was perfect. I did not rebuild the car myself, it was built by a Porsche technician on the side from the guy that I bought it from. If you Google the Vin you can see the damage to the car, if you would like to take a look at it or have it inspected yourself I have no issue with that as I have brought it to Porsche multiple times and when I first bought it I also have them inspect it. Because the Porsche dealership did not do the repairs they will not give any written consent on the car, this is why I had it measured at an auto body shop. When I got it inspected by Porsche the only issue was a gas tank sensor in which I had them fix it for around $3000. I also had the dash replaced as it had a small tear in the stitching which is usually caused by the heat in Florida. The car is going for a full detail tomorrow, the car is in perfect condition drives and fully operates as it was supposed to read off the factory line. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out.

Holy smokes! That was quite a hit. Thanks to @Jotte for reminding us how to shed light on prior damage for a salvage title car.

@Jotte Thanks, Looks like it buffed out quite nicely!

@01s2 Google the VIN. The pictures are all right there. Extensive is a good way to describe it

Hi. Do you have pictures of the damage? What is the story behind the salvage title? Seems like the damage would have to be extensive to justify the salvage title. Thanks!

One of the best road cars ever made by Porsche under $200K. I bought a white one on this site last year. It might be helpful for the Seller to post receipts of the damage repair if possible.
    GLWTA!

After almost 80 Porsche's, 40+ years, a dozen Ferrari's, including racecars, almost every RS and GT3's, 991R and a well driven 959 the 981 Spyder remains one of my favorite cars. I own 2. Often underrated and undervalued. I believe the optional infotainment package includes the rear camera, (not a DOT mandate in 2016) and it needs it. One of my cars has been all over Europe at speed with top up and down with no issues. BTW, the top is easy. I have a 718 Spyder being built now, although faster, not certain I'll like it better. OMT. The gearbox is excellent. Yes. 911R excellent.

Hi everyone, this spider is pristine, I’ve put about 12K into the car over the last year to make it perfect. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m available to provide in person PPI or offer additional photos and or video. The only reason I’m selling is I’m not really using it. I have 4 other cars and a boat so don’t see myself using it to much. It’s a very fun at and one of the best Porsches ever built in my opinion. Bid with confidence.
