Debuted in 2015 as the lightweight, high-performance version of the 981, the Boxster Spyder uses the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six from the Carrera S and sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Supported by an extended warranty through May 2023 and fresh from a recent service, this two-owner Spyder is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina showing approximately 21k miles on the odometer.
This 981 is finished in White and rides on 20” Boxster Spyder Design wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, which sit in front of distinctive yellow-painted Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). The Spyder's design features lightweight aluminum doors, GT4-derived fascias, a ducktail rear spoiler, and a double-streamliner decklid over the rear that is reminiscent of historic Porsche racing cars. Notable exterior options include supplemental safety bars in White, SportDesign exterior mirror lower trims painted in Black, and tinted taillights. The seller notes the side marker lenses have been changed to clear and in August 2017 Sun Tek Ultra paint protection film was applied to the entire front end along with Spectra PhotoSync Nano-IR film applied to the windows and a Modesta BC-04 Nano-Titanium ceramic coating. The paint protection film is covered by a 10-year warranty, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is optioned with the Spyder Classic Interior Package, which trims the cabin in a special combination of Garnet Red leather and Black Alcantara upholstery. Factory options include the Infotainment Package with Bose Surround Sound System, heated 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats, Guards Red seat belts, and a reversing camera. The seller notes a BlendMount MirrorTap power cord has been installed to power an Escort radar detector.
The Boxster Spyder comes fitted with a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six that delivers up to 375 HP and 309 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. It comes standard with a 20mm lowered Sport Suspension, Sport Exhaust, the Sport Chrono Package, and a limited-slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in as little as 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 180 MPH. The seller notes the extended warranty was purchased through their local Porsche dealer and is administered by CNA National Warranty Corporation. It has a $200 deductible and expires on March 5, 2023, or at 80k miles. The car has been regularly maintained with the most recent service completed in November 2022.

The drip from the differential cover has been found to been found to have been from lack of thread sealer on the bolt. This has been fixed and the records of this will be included with all the other service records.

I so wish the seller had a DME ready. I love everything about this spyder. I can’t bid seriously though on a manual without it. Everything else tells me it’s fine but a DME has so much great info, it removes all doubt to bid correctly for this wonderful car. I’m actually sad ?

Funny. I have the same problem with my wife. Too bad I still love her. Otherwise I d be bidding mad on this gem.
I’m thinking the trick is to ship my next car to a friends garage and never tell her about it until I sell one of my other sports cars.
If it were up to me, we would be living in one bay of a 10 car garage.

What a beautiful car. Knowing the owner (a great person) and the wonderful dealership (the service team is exceptional), I’d grab this car! I wish I had known it was going to be for sale before I purchased another PCAR at auction. It’s awesome too!

Defries: The car has PPF on the full front end (headlights, fog lights, front bumper, full hood, full fenders and mirrors). The whole car has Modesta Ceramic Coating applied to it.

I wanted say I if there are any questions, please free to ask.
I had a pre-purchase inspection performed as I wanted to make sure the new owner will be confident that the car was in perfect order. The pre-purchase inspection performed at Porsche of Wilmington. We found a small drip from the lower left differential cover bolt. It is from one bolt only. They feel it is an O-ring or at worse a gasket that needs to be replaced. The annual maintenance was performed on 11/25/22 at Porsche of Wilmington and this drip was not present then. The car is scheduled for an appointment on 12/19/22 to have the issue fixed before it goes to it's new owner. I can provide the name and phone number of my service person if anyone would like to call and talk to them about this.
