We are pleased to present this 2016 Porsche 911 R finished in GT Silver Metallic over a black leather interior with GT Silver stitching. Introduced in 2016 and limited to only 991 units in total, the 911 R places an emphasis on lightweight performance and driver involvement. It was offered exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission, lightweight flywheel, limited-slip differential, ceramic composite brakes, magnesium and carbon-fiber body panels, and a naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six borrowed from the GT3 RS. Representing The 911 R offered here is one of only 283 examples reported to have been delivered to the United States and comes with the optional Front Axle Lift System, Sport Chrono Package, Bose Surround Sound System, LED headlights in black, SportDesign mirrors in carbon fiber, and illuminated door sill guards in carbon-fiber. Acquired by the second owner in 2018, this 911 R is now being offered for auction out of Scottsdale, Arizona, with just over 500 miles showing on the odometer.
This 911 R is finished in GT Silver Metallic (M7Z) and features red racing stripes and side Porsche script graphics exclusive to the R model. The bodywork is derived from the GT3 and incorporates a carbon fiber hood, rear decklid, and front fenders as well as a magnesium roof panel. Instead of a fixed rear spoiler, the 911 R features an automatically deploying speed-sensitive rear wing, which works in conjunction with an R-specific underbody diffuser to keep the rear end planted to the road. The car has been preserved with an application of clear paint protection over the full exterior since 2017, detailed images are available in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Additional equipment includes exclusive LED headlights in Black, SportDesign mirrors with carbon-fiber upper trims, and 20” GT3 center-lock wheels factory finished in high-gloss black with original Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
The cabin is trimmed in black full leather accented by GT Silver stitching and carbon fiber inlays as well as exclusive illuminated door sill guards in carbon fiber. The 911 R features vintage-style instrument dials with green markings as well as a commemorative badge above the glovebox displaying the car's limited production number (564/991). The 911 R is powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.0L flat-six that sends up to 500 HP to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential and dual-mass flywheel. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is reached in approximately 3.7 seconds with a top speed over 200 MPH. The 911 R also comes equipped as standard with specially-tuned rear-axle steering, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), R-calibrated PASM suspension with GT3-derived aluminum components, and a titanium Sport Exhaust System. Routine maintenance has been carried out by authorized Porsche dealers including a recommended service from Porsche North Scottsdale in March of 2021 at 520 miles.
