Based on the AMG GT, the Mercedes-AMG GT S features a 503-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 engine, electronically controlled limited-slip differential, AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension, AMG Adaptive Performance Exhaust System, staggered 19”/21” wheels, and dedicated race modes via AMG Dynamic Select. This 2016 GT S Coupe is finished in Designo Diamond White Metallic over a Beige and black leather interior and features the optional cross-spoke forged wheels, a panoramic roof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and the AMG Dynamic Plus, Exterior Carbon, and Track packages. Showing just over 29k miles on the odometer, this example is now being offered for auction once again on PCARMARKET by its seller out of Georgia.
This example is finished in Designo Diamond White Metallic and equipped with the optional Exterior Carbon Fiber Package, which includes a carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, side fins, and mirror covers, complemented by gloss black window trim. Additional exterior features include LED headlights and taillights, hood and fender vents, a panoramic roof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and dual chrome exhaust outlets. It rides on optional 19”/20” AMG cross-spoke forged wheel wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires driven less than 500 miles. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting minor damage from a rear-end collision in October 2021.
The cabin features heated, power-adjustable AMG Performance seats upholstered in Beige and black leather with white accents and stitching. Carbon fiber trim adorns the cabin, while amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, Keyless-Go entry, a rearview camera, a COMAND infotainment system with navigation, and a Burmester surround sound system. The seller notes a minor lift on the dashboard due to heat exposure at the front. All gauges and electronics are reported to be in proper working order.
Power is provided by a hand-built 4.0-liter M178 Biturbo V8 engine, delivering a factory-rated 515 HP and 494 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch AMG SPEEDSHIFT automatic transmission and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. The AMG GT introduces the innovative “hot inside V” configuration, with both turbochargers mounted between the cylinder banks to enhance performance and minimize turbo lag. A dry-sump lubrication system supports optimal engine function under high-performance conditions. Performance features include a dynamic AMG Sport Exhaust, AMG Dynamic Select drive modes with a dedicated RACE mode, and AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension. The optional AMG Dynamic Plus Package further enhances handling with firmer damping, recalibrated steering, and increased negative camber for the front wheels. Additionally, it has been modified with a catalytic converter delete and a stage 2 tune to boost performance. It has also recently undergone an oil change and routine maintenance.
This sale will include a window sticker, a toolkit, a sales brochure, and a rebuilt title.
The seller would like you to know: “I unfortunately let a friend drive the car and he rear-ended someone at a low speed. They couldn’t gauge the nose of the vehicle so I had to pay for the repair out of pocket because at the time I figured I would keep the car forever. I then went and spent another 8k on tuning it after the accident. But things changed and now I think it’s time to move on. It's a great vehicle and everything besides the tune and cats are stock."

The only way there is going to be a Car Fax entry is if there was an insurance payout, I BELIEVE… The more likely scenario is the seller got a check and the car and then fixed the car on thier own. Gotta buy what you see. I am not going to keep bidding, but if it was going to get stolen, I was going to be the thief, lol. I think this is still a good deal. I am not a Benz guy or I would own this car.

Props to JaelinR (seller) for posting a picture of the accident damage as well as the complete repair invoice! I'm so tired of auctions with CarFax reports of "minor damage," but no pics of what actually happened to the vehicle.

@1974Bronco Yeah, everybody hates the insurance company until it's time to file a claim, then it's the only person they want to talk to. Funny how No one ever has a problem cashing an insurance check.
@JaelinR "...And I wasn’t in the drivers seat at the time of the accident so insurance said they wouldn’t cover it ..." This statement is just another reason the story behind this car doesn't pass the smell test. Insurance follows the car, NOT the driver. It makes absolutely no difference whether or not you were the driver. The car is insured, the car gets damaged, the car gets fixed (or totaled). If the car gets totaled, the insurance company owns the car. In some instances you can buy the totaled car back from the insurance company. The ONLY possibilty for the insurance to not cover the accident would be if you had knowingly allowed an unlicensed driver take the car, and that would still be contestable. Were you so foolish as to allow an unlicensed driver to take your 29K mile AMG GT-S?
@Rundeep32 I originally tried to get the vehicle fixed through my insurance and during the process they told me they weren’t going to cover the repairs to make a long story short. During that time frame it hit my carfax because it was in their possession.

The title will be clean , seller just disclosing. Carfax not so much
@ TheVintageCarGuy - do I understand this correctly? If the seller paid for the repairs out of his own pocket, how could his, or any insurance company, brand the title as salvage if they had not provided any financial support after the accident (i.e. "no skin in the game)?
Seller, could you please clear this up before the auction nears its end?
Yah , pretty sure this car was never on it lid.
Seller states he paid out of pocket and the car has a colored title.
I’m suspicious of anything insurance, ever been through a hurricane in FL,? That why I went to take a look.
I have attached a picture of the accident. Please have a look thank you.
@1974Bronco With what it states in the "The seller would like you to know:" section, your comment about the Title seemingly blaming the insurance company for the title status makes no sense. The seller states he paid for the repairs "out of pocket", suggesting their was no insurance claim. Someone is not telling the truth. Seller also states his friend couldn't "gauge the nose" and rear-ended someone "at a low speed" . At a low speed? Really? According to the CarFax the car rearended another vehicle, struck a curb, overturned......OVERTURNED! and then was subsequently vandelized. Hence the Total loss. A car of this mass, low center of gravity and wheel track does not overturn from a low speed collision.
All we were finally able to hook up. Sellers a great guy just a busy car guy. Car is beautiful and nearly impossible to see remnants of an accident. Don’t really understand the rebuilt title, damage to front end but no air bags deployed. ?? Another result of dealing with an insurance company.
Nice car but the title situation still remains
Beyond the two missing bolts in the center of pic 125 that aren't installed in your vehicle, the two hood-height threaded adjustment posts that are on either side of the three bolts (that are correctly installed in the dead center of the under hood image of the Silver car pic 125) are completely missing on your car. Please again reference pic 125 for an image of an unrepaired front end.
@JaelinR please look at picture 125 in the link I sent to the comment section.
In the dead center of the picture you'll see three bolts. Two are next to each other in on the main center metal retention latch (I'm not referring to the 2 outer latches). There's no "rubber resting spots" in pic 125. There are two bolts missing in your radiator support which is why I asked the question about the overall (and unseen) quality of the repair work.
If you are still unable to reference the area in which I am trying to describe, please advise.
@1974Bronco I sent you a direct message as well I don’t think PCmarket allows us to send personal contact information. I’m going to send you another direct message and maybe we can coordinate through here if that’s fine with you.
Yes I live in Cumming I sent my email and phone via contact seller. Outside of that I don’t know how to coordinate a viewing
@Rundeep32 Thank you for bringing it to my attention and upon further research those are two rubber points are simply additional resting points for the hood to rest on. It doesn’t have a real safety purpose for keeping the hood closed. The three latches do that and it’s a simple fix I’m sure they can handle.
@1974Bronco afternoon my apologies for the delayed response I’m currently at a relatives home are you local to the sugar hill area we can definitely schedule that. I’m 6’1 and I fit comfortably in the vehicle.
Since seller will not respond or let someone come by and look can someone tell me if being 6’2” + will be an issue
I sent message to be able to come see the car, seller can you respond. Would like to do it today, help
Center latch - see pic 90 vs. pic 125 (between all of the radiator support decals) of https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2015-mercedes-amg-gt-s-4
The hood hasn't fallen off or blown into the windshield under way yet so, because the lack of hardware is easily remedied, this is brought up as less of an immediate safety concern but rather because the omission of the bolts situationally correlates to the level of quality control observed during your car's reconstitution - and most importantly - before delivering the completed project to you.
@Rundeep32 exactly which two hood bolts are you referring to? The hood has three latch points. One on the far left the center and on the far right.
@Buntz319 vehicle was deemed a total loss because at the time parts weren’t available during the Covid times. And I wasn’t in the drivers seat at the time of the accident so insurance said they wouldn’t cover it during the process. I have a picture of the vehicle after the wreck. No airbags no structural damage not even a window replaced. Vehicle will pass inspection but if you have to do emissions in a certain state that’s where you may need the cats and they do come with the vehicle. Vehicle has a small lien with Wells Fargo they will send you the title directly.
@JaelinR - Thanks - Do you still have an open work order with the collision facility that worked on the impact? I ask because, when comparing to a dark gray GT-S that just sold on another auction site, this is missing parts or has incomplete repairs. For example, the (pretty critical) bolts that retain the hood latch are not installed (are missing) and, judged by the absence of marred paint from the re-spray, never were installed with the body work you paid for. Given a rather large oversight by your collision company, would you be able to have them not only replace these bolts but also look over the car with a fine tooth comb to determine what else they missed as part of a complete repair? With the amount of money you spent putting your car back together, one would conclude the collision company would do just that. Please advise - thank you.

Car looks great! why deemed total loss? extent of vandalism? branded title? Can vehicle pass inspection without cats? will vehicle be free of lien prior to purchase? thanks
@Rundeep32 yes I have the original cars and they will come with the vehicle. Regarding the driveshaft it hasn’t been replaced under my ownership and not sure if the previous owner had it completed under the recall. The transaxle is original and to my knowledge it’s not leaking or has any seepage. When I take it in for check ups I tell them to look for any leaks or seepage anywhere on the vehicle.
Hi,
- Do you have the cats?
- Has the driveshaft been replaced under recall/warranty?
- Is the transaxle original?
- Does the transaxle show any (any at all, even if very minor) signs of oil/fluid seepage?
@BruceDuff correct and funds didn’t come over from the winning bidder which resulted in a default on their end unfortunately.
