Equipped as standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a two-mode sport exhaust, the Sport Chrono Package, and more aggressive styling, the range-topping Boxster GTS model also features a naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 330 HP. Finished in Carmine Red over a Black leather and Alcantara GTS interior, this 2015 example was also selected with 20" 911 Turbo Design wheels, Sport Suspension, Premium Package with Adaptive Sport Seats, carbon fiber center console trim, the Infotainment Package, and more. This well-equipped 981 is now available for auction out of Colorado with just over 30k miles on the odometer.
This example is finished in Carmine Red and equipped with optional 20″ 911 Turbo Design wheels featuring colored Porsche crests and Pirelli P Zero tires installed at approximately 15k miles. Standard GTS features include distinctive front and rear bumpers, black headlight surrounds, and “GTS” designations on the doors. Modifications consist of Rennline black mesh intake screens and colored Porsche-crested TPMS valve stems. The seller notes meticulous exterior maintenance using premium products, including a Level 2 full Ceramic Pro coating, and describes the exterior as being in excellent condition with only minor imperfections consistent with the mileage. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with an accident-free CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Black leather and Alcantara upholstery with Carmine Red accents as part of the premium GTS Interior Package. Additional options include instrument dials in Carmine Red, center console trim in carbon fiber, roof lining in Alcantara, the Infotainment Package with BOSE® Surround Sound System, and Premium Package Plus including 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus with Memory Package. Car Mats Customs floor liners have been fitted, presented in black with red contrast stitching for a cohesive appearance, along with WeatherTech floor mats. An aftermarket backup camera has also been integrated into the head unit. A potential odometer roll-back is indicated on the CARFAX report.
The GTS’s 3.4-liter flat-six engine produces as much as 330 HP, an increase of 15 HP over the standard Boxster S. Equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and Sport Chrono Package, this 981 can reach 60 MPH from a standstill in approximately 4 seconds. Porsche Active Suspension Management comes standard along with a two-mode sport exhaust system, while the Sport Suspension was added as an optional feature. The seller adds that stainless steel brake lines have been installed, and both manufacturer recalls have been addressed. Scheduled maintenance is said to have been performed, with no outstanding items reported.
This sale will include a clean title, two keys, owner’s manuals, and a car cover.
The seller would like you to know: “You won't find a better-sorted car, properly cared for and lovingly driven as a Porsche should be. It's a value find in this market and in a proper Porsche color (not Silver, Black or White). It's ready to drive on a long cruise or take it to your local Autocross (where if you know How To Drive you may win, as a Cayman is the right balance for such efforts) and/or a track. OR, the car will be the star of your Cars and Coffee or your Region's next meeting. She's simply outstanding.”

Note to all, I called one of my Porsche dealerships here (the other no longer performs PPIs, interestingly enough), and they said they wouldn't be able to perform a PPI by Friday/close of the auction. Sorry, again, this is all happening quickly for me.
@Rwatt, forgot about the aftermarket camera. I was only thinking about the factory options but I'm sure the CarPlay and backup cam are nice upgrades. The tach is the only dial affected with that option AFAIK.
@jb9573 Thanks for listing its details/options. And as noted below, it also now has an after-market Kenwood CMOS-320 Backup Camera. Then the one 'correction' is to Option 027 Instrument Dials in Carmine Red. Instead of plural "dials" only the center dial is red. Don't know if that was a factory oversight or a typo by them or why its plural when only one dial is red. I've never asked the dealer about it.
@jb9573 Thanks. Seems it's fixed now: WPOAB2A81FK182805
@Glickster Many times the original owner is counted as the buying dealership. So in this case Loeber Porsche Motors. That would then 'technically' make me the third owner. From the records I have, there have been only two others...the private party who bought from Loeber and then me.
As noted previously here, I didn't/would never roll the mileage back (how would you even do that?), and after asking the original owner, he was insulted I asked/said Never. So it seems Carfax isn't always provided the facts.
@jb9573 It does have a backup camera, although installed non-OEM by first owner. It's a Kenwood CMOS-320 Multi-angle camera with the controller mounted under the light switch.
Also recommend that if seller goes for a PPI, take & post pix of the undercarriage, etc.
It is a beautiful car that caught my eye the minute it was posted on the PCA classifieds but taken down within hours and placed for auction here. I got the impression from the first (PCA) listing that this was a 2-owner car with this seller's predecessor having been a p-car aficionado. Carfax here states otherwise noting 4 owners (which may only be 3 owners.) It also appears that per Carfax - for whatever reason - the actual recorded mileage was reduced by approximately 6000 miles.
Anyone purchasing this car should understand that the car may be a 36,000 mile vehicle, not a 30k mile car.
That said, it's a really nicely optioned car with the right interior for a Carmen red GTS.
@Rwatt, Pedro, Sr. of Pedro's garage seemed to indicate to me the door cards with leather aren't prone (or maybe he said as prone) to it as the vinyl ones that almost all delaminate.
To clarify on X73 for those who need it, X73 (traditional springs and shocks) is 10mm lower than PASM (dynamic dampers with sport and comfort settings) which is 10mm lower than the standard suspension (springs/shocks). PASM is a great compromise but X73 is non-punishing and very responsive.
@pcarmarket, the VIN is wrong at the top of the listing. It's missing an "A" between the "B2" and the "81".
Really nice car - just missing sensors and the backup camera in my opinion but otherwise loaded.

I had a 2015 GTS. It is a very great car. Drives great, sounds great, looks great. I believe it is one of the best cars Porsche has produced. Good luck with the sale. It is a beautiful car.
@ova9k Understood. I'm going to see if it's possible today. I'll provide status. Otherwise, you are correct that having a PPI in hand is a good thing. This all happened quickly for me, so getting one in time was the issue.
I’m not sure, but from my (little) experience with auctions, I see sellers buying it as it is beneficial for them to get better offers.
@ova9k I can ask tomorrow, if my local dealer is open. I know the other one in town no longer performs them. Another issue: we have 8" of snow on the ground, with more coming tonight. How would this work though, re payment for it if they can?
Would you be able to get a PPI before the end of the auction?
@jnor10 Well, if all goes according plan, I'll be a happy seller...although I must admit, I am not 100% 'happy' about letting her go. Spectacular and very capable car, if you know how to drive. Porsche would agree and say it's the same for all their cars. Otherwise, you are correct, the car has 340 hp as a GTS.
Beautiful car, very similar to mine so I’m hoping for a happy seller!
Correct me if I’m wrong but the 981 Cayman GTS has 340 HP while the BGTS has 330HP.
GLWS!
Bid in the amount of $50,000
Thanks for the responses!
I believe you can upload the build sheet as another picture.
I also see that there’s some comment about exterior product including ceramic coating. Does the car have PPF?
Bid in the amount of $30,000
Pm sent via contact seller. Just a heads up I’ve bought a couple on these type of sites and sometimes the pm’s go to trash 🤷♂️
@GWhuffalo Well, likely not/I hope not, but at least it starts the ball/car rolling. I appreciate the interest and fun bid. Don't stop now though. You'll love the car once you submit the winning bid. Thanks GWH.
Definitely like the color. I know the 15 981 bid won’t win but hopefully it’s will stay until the last day!! I’m pretty sure double that isn’t getting it 🤣
Bid in the amount of $15,981
@Rwatt Insulated should have been...Insulted. My bad, but you understood.
@Rwatt I see now the basis of your PASM question. The information at the very beginning of the listing is from the PCARMarket people. They likely just went to the base Cayman car's literature and copied it. So they aren't aware that, as I said below, the X73 Option deletes PASM by Porsche because it lowers the car and because of the GTS Interior Package (088) means it has Sport Chrono and PADM (Porsche Active (engine) Dynamic Mounting). So I'm thinking that's why PASM isn't needed.
@Rwatt Oh, and as mentioned in the original listing, I also have Weathertech mats for the front. They aren't new. They're what I've driven her with. The Car Custom mats you see in the pictures are brand new though. Also, the rear trunk has a Porsche-embossed rubber mat from Pelican I bought, but now also the same Car Mat Customs mat (both shaped to fit the space, of course). So two to choose from (one for daily use, the other for Cars and Coffee.)
@ova9k Oh, and yes, I have the Build Sheet. Not sure how to provide that though. In the meantime I can provide any information from it for you.
Rob
@ova9k There’s no door delaminatiion. But I know what you’re talking about, since my other Porsche did. Thus I’ve been super careful about exposing it to sun for long periods. So that’s not an issue. Another good question.
@ova9k Thanks for the inquiry. You are correct about PASM. The X73 Sport Suspension option lowers the car by 20mm, thus according to Porsche deletes PASM. Not sure about the logic, but that’s what they say.
Your question about the odometer is unusual, since I never rolled it back (nor would I know how), and I’ve asked the original owner who was almost insulated I asked, saying No F***g way I’d do that!
The maintenance numbers you cite don’t correspond to the mileages the first owner provided when serviced. His records I have show oil/filter at 5892 and the same plus installation of the front trunk battery pigtail (never used by me) at 14183.
Regarding under carriage pictures, good question but unfortunately I have none. But believe me, the original owner was a huge Porsche guy with multiple cars. There’s no way he’d allow that to happen. I as well have never driven her on the icy or snowy roads here. I can try to get some pictures if you want, but it won’t be easy since she’s so low.
Finally, I don’t recall the original mats. But I can look. The brand new Car Mat Customs are a great combination with the black leather/Alcantara and red stitching, since they’re the same combination.
Rob
Couple more questions:
Is there any sign of door delamination?
Do you have the original fabric mats that came with the car?
Hi, it seems this doesn’t have PASM, but instead the X73 sports suspension. Is that correct?
There is indication of a potential odometer rollback, but the service records seem to indicate a pretty normal time between the entry at 8691 and 14404. I guess there was just some mistake on the carfax or during registration?
Are there any photos of the undercarriage or signs of rust?
Do you have the build sheet for this car?
Thanks in advance, Rob!
Don't hesitate to contact me (Rob Watt) with any further questions. Although I probably can't answer real technical questions, I can ask friends who are Porsche experts. Also please be aware I'm in the USA in the Mountain Time Zone, meaning two hours behind our East Coast and one hour ahead of our West Coast. Remember, you'll be hard pressed to find a better driver's Porsche at this price and condition. Thanks.
