Finished in GT Silver Metallic over a black leather interior, this 2015 Porsche 981 Cayman GTS was generously optioned from the factory at an original sticker price of over $103k. It comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), and Sport Suspension as well as extended leather trim, Alcantara headliner, black-painted wheels, and white instrument dials along with a host of premium driver amenities. Recently serviced and with just over 14k miles traveled from new, this Cayman GTS is now being offered for auction by its owner out of New York.

The exterior is finished in GT Silver Metallic and accented by yellow ceramic brake calipers, optional deviated headlight cleaner covers, and factory black-painted 20” Carrera S wheels. The GTS can be distinguished from a standard Cayman S by its more aggressive front and rear fascia, darkened headlamp surrounds, smoked taillight lenses, and “GTS” designations on each door. The seller notes that the car features full paint protection covering the exterior surface. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with optional black full leather upholstery in favor of the standard GTS Alcantara package, including extended leather trim covering the door panels, center console, and instrument surround. Other optional details include Porsche crested headrests, instrument dials in White, and an Alcantara headliner. The driver is supplied with a heated multifunction steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, ParkAssist with reversing camera, Power Steering Plus, power-folding side mirrors, Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus), automatically dimming mirrors with rain sensor, the Convenience Package, and Infotainment Package with BOSE Surround Sound System.

A naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine sends up to 340 HP and 280 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The GTS offers 15 HP and 7 lb.-ft of torque more than the Cayman S and comes equipped with the Sport Chrono Package and Sport Exhaust System as standard. This example was additionally optioned with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), and Sport Suspension for enhanced performance. The CARFAX report shows service completed at Porsche Gold Coast of New York in July 2022. The seller notes a fault code is present for the Porsche Active Drivetrain Mounts (PADM) on one side.

This sale will include a clean title.

    Good Evening @andrewvolk,

    Thanks for your interest.
    I just attempted to add the most recent service record and the build sheet with pricing but I did not see them appear on the ad yet so I'm not sure if it's an incompatible file type or not. I'll try it again and check back later. If they don't load I'll reach out to PCAR tomorrow for assistance.
    As for the paint; it is all original, the vehicle was never in an accident of any degree nor are there any "touch-ups" to any scratches, mars or blemishes.
    Good luck on your search.

    Regards,
    Michael

    @edtaylorjr Good Afternoon All,

    This update is for all who have requested the DME report;
    I was just informed by Porsche Gold Coast that when they performed the 40k service they did not run a DME report as requested. They have been very accommodating and were able to get me into the service dept. tomorrow morning to run the DME report which I will post in the afternoon.
    My apologies for the delay.

    Regards,
    Michael

    Can you let us know status of the DME report?

  • MDP1 (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

    @MDP1 I wanted to point out a few items that are not noted in the vehicle ad details.
    Some of these items have already been installed on the car and the other accessories are included and will be given to the winning bidder .
    The car has a GT4 short shifter that was installed by a Porsche dealership.
    The is a front hood line/protector, a removable protective liner/tub for the front luggage area, a protective rubber cargo mat for the rear trunk luggage area, a cargo net, two sets of Porsche floor mats: rubber weather proof mats and carpeted mats, a Rennsport magnetic phone mount on the center console, a four piece set of custom-fitted luggage for the Cayman (never used), an indoor car cover with Porsche crest, tinted windows, Porsche aluminum front dash trim kit (in a box), Porsche aluminum-look gas cap (and original black cap), all interior light bulbs have been replaced with LED versions, K&N intake air filters.
    A mentioned in the ad the entire exterior of the vehicle has been covered with EXPEL clear paint protective film.
    The vehicle will be delivered with two keys and owners manual.
    Please review the build sheet at the end of the photos in the ad to see the extensive list of unusual options that this $103K+ build has. It is truly a one of a kind Cayman GTS.
    Thank you all for your interest and best of luck in your search for the vehicle thats perfect for you, Michael

    @Viper999 Hi @Viper999, thanks for your interest in my car.
    I just had the 40k major service completed (based on time not mileage) and I asked them to perform a DME report but did not get the results with the service receipt.
    Tomorrow I will contact the Porsche dealer and request the report and post it for all to see.
    As for the PADM fault; the left side transmission mount was confirmed by the dealership to be faulty and will need replacement. If you Google PADM faults as I did, you will find that it is unfortunately a fairly common issue that affects Caymans/Boxsters and 911s. The car can be driven with the PADM fault without any issue (as stated by the dash warning) and quite frankly if the dash warning didn't tell me about it I would not have know there was an issue. As many of the other Porsche owners that I read about online said; you would have to be a real hardcore enthusiast or tracking the car (which I do not) to notice a difference. It is imperceptible to the average driver in spirited driving. Having said that if I were to keep this car I would replace the mount as it cannot be repaired. The price varies from dealer to dealer and from region to region. I am in New York so I have to pay NY Porsche Dealer pricing and was told it is about a $2k repair. The part is available online and can easily be installed by a reputable speed shop for much less than a Porsche dealer but that would be up to the buyer.
    I hope this answers your question, if there is something else you need to know feel free to ask.
    I should have the DME report posted tomorrow.
    Regards,
    Michael

    Hello,

    Is the DME report available? Also, do you have any info about the Porsche Active Drivetrain Mounts (PADM) fault? I believe this is a pretty expensive part so I'd like to get more info if possible. Thanks.
