Now up for auction is this 2015 Porsche 991 Targa 4S finished in Dark Blue Metallic over a two-tone Natural Leather Interior in Espresso/Cognac. Among the last of the 911 Targas to have been offered with a naturally aspirated engine, this 2015 example also features a desirable 7-speed manual transmission, a SportDesign front fascia, Sport Tailpipes, and other premium options amounting to an original sticker price of over $142k. Said to have been originally used as a company car by Porsche Cars North America, this Targa was purchased as a certified pre-owned vehicle by its second and current owner in February of 2017. Accompanied by an additional set of HRE wheels and tires as well as complete service records from the current ownership, this Targa 4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado with approximately 18k miles showing on the odometer.
The Dark Blue Metallic finish is reported to be in mostly excellent condition with 2 applications of ceramic coating applied under the current ownership. The lower front spoiler was previously replaced by Porsche for cosmetic purposes and clear paint protection film was also dealer-applied in 2017 over the forward half of the car including the front fenders, bumper, hood, mirror covers, and windshield frame. Some minor road-going wear can be seen on the PPF and the seller notes a small paint chip on the front hood underneath the film (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). In addition to its iconic Targa styling, this 991 is equipped with optional LED headlights in black, painted headlight washer covers, Sport Tailpipes, a SportDesign front fascia, and 20” 911 Turbo wheels that are currently dressed in Michelin Alpine PA4 winter tires. An additional set of aftermarket HRE Flowform wheels dressed in Pirelli P-Zero summer tires will also be included in the sale.
Inside, you will find a premium two-tone Natural Leather Interior in Espresso and Cognac with 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus. Other factory options include ParkAssist (front and rear) with reversing camera, power-folding side mirrors, a multifunction steering wheel, Seat Memory Package, the Bose Audio Package, and Premium Package Plus.
This first-generation 991 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8 L flat-six engine that sends 400 HP to all four wheels through a visceral 7-speed manual gearbox. In this configuration, the Targa 4S is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4.8 seconds while carrying on to a top speed of over 180 MPH. This Targa has undergone all scheduled service from authorized Porsche dealers including a preemptive 40k mile service carried out at 14,242 miles and its most recent standard service at 18,317 miles. The seller also confirms that all recall items have been completed as of December 8th 2020.
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, owner’s manuals, the original window sticker, extra floormats, an additional set of HRE wheels, and a clean Colorado title. A true modern driver’s car, this 18k mile 7-speed Targa 4S is sure to satisfy any discerning enthusiast.

@dng Thank you for the kind words! I’m going to miss the Targa. It’s been so much fun to own. I’ve always appreciated the refined, classic style - the car just has good looks from every angle.
Why am I selling it? I’m not a collector and I only have room for one “extra” car - I’ve decided to move into a newer 911 (with manual, of course) after enjoying this one for 4 years. I guess I just want a change. Something new and different. That’s all.
I took this car on a drive in 2019 from Denver to Vegas, then to LA where I hit the Petersen Museum on a Sunday morning. Then I went north up close to Reno and caught US Route 50 - “The Loneliest Hwy” eastbound back across Nevada and Utah. I drove 879 miles in one day mostly on Hwy 50 with the sun at my back. The car was fantastic and that day was incredible. I’ll always think of that trip when I think about this car.
Jim
Amazing car JB911! Could you share why you might be selling?
I wanted to point out that the brand new Pirelli PZero summer tires have been installed on the HRE wheels today and the pic has been posted
(see pic 109)
The invoice (my cost) was $1654.86
Jim (the seller)
@9er9er3 Thanks for the inquiry. Both pictures look like the interior. The first pic was taken in overcast daylight and the second was taken yesterday outside right at dawn. I would suggest googling “Porsche Natural Leather Espresso Interior” and review online images to get a taste for the interior color in various lighting and environments. I just did that myself and there are quite a few good examples. I hope this helps.
Thanks
Jim (the seller)
What seat color is more accurate in the pictures? Picture 66 or 96?
Bid in the amount of $86,000
Following up on requests, we have posted quite a few new pics today:
You can now find the DME Report, Undercarriage Pics, Hood pics and Driver Seat pics.
And by this time tomorrow (Tuesday) I plan to add pics of the Brand New Pirelli PZero's (Summer Tires) which are scheduled to be installed on the HRE wheels replacing the previous PZeros. After seeing the old summer tires, I think it's the right thing to do and of course, I am covering this cost ($1654.86)
Jim (the seller)
@EZ99B507 Hi and thanks for the inquiry. The option "Sport Tailpipes" ($950) or Sport Exhaust is in fact listed on the provided window sticker. It can be found on the 17th row under "OPTIONS"
Here is a cut and paste from the Porsche website about the Sports Tailpipes option:
"The Porsche sound. Powerful, throaty, sporty. And the best thing about this: it can be further enhanced – with the sports exhaust systems and specially designed sports tailpipes from Porsche Tequipment."
Thanks again for the inquiry. I love that option and I always turn it on.
Jim (the seller)
Is it normal for these cars to have the Sports Exhaust button on the console but for Sports Exhaust to not be listed on the window sticker?
@Toys1955 You are very welcome and I’m glad to clarify all that too. Prestige Porsche Service in Denver has always taken great care of me and the car even though I purchased it from Manhattan Motorcars. They are very good and I’ve always taken all their recommendations as far as preventative maintenance and service.
Thanks for the clarification on the oil changes ;)
Additional photos have been added to the listing gallery.
@doobooloo Thanks for the questions. I’m still working to try arrange a DME report for the car.
And I will take and submit a closeup of the chip on the hood. To be clear, it’s a very very small chip and it is covered over by the PPF. The PPF was installed over the tiny preexisting chip.
Would you be able to provide a current DME report showing overrevs? Also, hard to make out from existing phitos the chip on the hood that went through the PPF... possible to get a closeup of this? Thank you!
@Toys1955 @Toys1955@Toys1955
I have confirmed I posses Service Receipts for regularly scheduled preventive maintenance that includes OIL CHANGE records completed at Prestige Porsche for the following dates and mileage points:
NOV 13 2017 - 10509 Miles $806.34
JAN 04 2019 - 11992 Miles $739.28
NOV 19 2019 - 17242 Miles $2245.59
DEC 08 2020 0 18317 Miles $245.52
My dates and service receipts match up with the CarFax records that we have provided for your review.
The 11/19/19 Service ($2245.59) was the 40,000 mile factory service which included replacing the cabin air filter, pollen filter, and spark plugs and a 32 Point Comprehensive Inspections. Also at this time, I also elected to have the brake fluid flushed and the brakes were bled at each caliper.
Thanks
@RicePark Sure, no problem. I will submit driver seat pics to PCarMarket this evening and they should be up for you to see by tomorrow. Thanks
Would you submit some photos of the drivers seat bolsters? Looking to see how much wear it has. Thank you.
@Toys1955 that’s clearly false and the Carfax that has been provided shows an oil change at 5,700 miles. When I get home later this evening I’ll review my service records for additional oil changes prior to 12,000 miles. I suspect sometimes it’s just listed as “service” on the Carfax records. The car has been maintained impeccably by Prestige Porsche in Denver under my ownership and I possess those records. Thank you
@f1skibum The factory Pzeros are rated to temps down to the 40’s but according to my dealer it’s recommended to get some cold temp rated rubber for winter season. And because I do drive it during this time of year, I have the Michelin’s. Just never in the snow ?. Thank you
Hi,
According to the car fax this car didn’t get an oil change for almost 12,000 miles and then 2 within 1100 miles !!!!! Really?
Was wondering because of the Michelin winter tires
@f1skibum Snow?!? Not this car! I hate to see a raindrop hit it. So, beyond what I’ve read online, I really don’t know. Hope that helps and thanks for the inquiry.
How does it handle in the snow?
UPDATE: NEW PIRELLI PZERO SUMMER TIRES
Installation of the brand-new Pirelli PZero NO Summer Tires in the HRE Wheels is scheduled for Monday AM. My total cost: $1654
I will submit fresh pics upon completion
Bid in the amount of $85,161
Bid in the amount of $84,911
@ainsworth88 I’ve never had it in a track. I might try to get A DME next week but not sure how possible that will be for me to provide.
Any recent DME showing over-revs? Any track time?
Bid in the amount of $80,000
Bid in the amount of $51,499
@TXGerman walk around and cold start video will be added shortly. Pics of the HREs (Summer wheels) should be up soon too.
NEW PZEROS!! I’ve decided to also have brand new Summer PZeros installed on all four HREs - I just think it’s due after looking at the tread today. It’s been arranged and should be completed at my house prior to the auction closing.
Additional content has been added to the photo gallery.
@JB911 I see now photo 81 has COA showing CPO warranty ending 09/30/2021. Such a good thing to have a bit of warranty remaining.
@tjduffeyjr1 -According to the Carfax we have provided, it was first registered in 7/23/2014. Then, two months later there’s a record of a Porsche service with under 30 miles on the Odo at the time.
Bid in the amount of $50,000
Do you have the "in service date?"
@TXGerman I’ll get some pics of the “summer” HRE wheel / PZero Tire set up in a few hours. They are really nice wheels that have been ceramic coated.
Not sure that I’ll be able to provide pics of undercarriage or a video. I just had it regularly serviced and checked by Prestige here in Denver 300 miles ago and the car checked out great like always.
Bid in the amount of $35,000
Love it!!!!
Please post pics of the HRE wheels and the undercarriage. Will you be posting any driving or cold start videos?
Thanks for looking.....this is my Targa and it’s a great car. As the listing states, I’m the second owner and I’ve owned it since Feb 2017. I will be checking here frequently to try to respond to questions and comments as quickly as possible. Good Luck!
