This 2014 Porsche Cayman S comes finished in Black over a matching full leather interior. It commanded an original sticker price of over $101k including Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), a Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Sport Exhaust System, the Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Infotainment Package with BOSE Surround Sound, painted 20” Carrera S wheels, and seatbelts and instrument dials in Racing Yellow. This generously optioned 981 was acquired by the current owner in 2019 and recently received a new PDK transmission from Porsche which is supported by a 2-year warranty. Showing approximately 59k miles on the odometer, this Cayman S is now being offered for auction out of Massachusetts.

This Cayman S is finished in Black and features optional black-painted 20” Carrera S wheels which are complemented by yellow brake calipers as part of the ceramic brake option. Other equipment includes a speed-activated rear spoiler, side air intakes, Sport Tailpipes for the Sport Exhaust System, optional Bi-Xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), and ParkAssist sensors front and rear. The car rides on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires showing 2017 date codes in front and 2022 date codes in the rear. Some minor rock chips are noted on the front end and the seller states the car was professionally detailed upon their purchase along with the application of a 5-year ceramic coating. The seller adds that the car has never seen track use. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black full leather interior features optional seatbelts and instrument dials in Racing Yellow as well as heated and ventilated 14-way Power Sport Seats with Memory Package, a multifunction steering wheel, Power Steering Plus, Premium Package, and the Infotainment Package with BOSE Surround Sound. The seller notes some minor wear is present on the driver’s seat bolster and an integrated Escort 9500ci radar detector system was installed by the previous owner and includes a remote control mounted to the right of the steering column.

This Cayman is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine producing up to 315 HP and 266 lb.-ft of torque. Equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package and a 7-speed PDK transmission, it can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in less than 5 seconds. The car is also equipped with a full complement of performance options including Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), the Sport Exhaust System, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). The seller notes the PDK transmission was newly replaced by Porsche and comes with a 2-year warranty. The most recent oil change was completed in the Fall of 2022 along with the installation of new rear tires. The seller adds that all recommended maintenance was kept up to date throughout their ownership.

This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, some documentation, and a clean title (lien).

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for looking at my 2014 Cayman S. I had spent about 2 years looking for the right Porsche when I found this car in 2019. I have only driven it about 10,000 miles during my ownership and have unfortunately less and less time to drive it. It is a great car with many performance and luxury options, and I would like it to go to someone who has the time to enjoy it.”

Would be a steal at this price. I sold my high MSRP ($98k) 2014 Cayman S (with PCCB's) back in early 2020 for > $46,000 and that car had > 63k miles.

These are amazing cars and someone is going to be very happy.

@tunaman There is only the factory PPF near the side ducts. There is a 5 year warrantied ceramic coating that is 4 years old

I forgot that the brake fluid was also flushed during the oil change last November. The rear tires were replaced this spring, but I haven't found that receipt. The date codes are Dec 2022, and it was done at the dealer, so I can always have another receipt sent if necessary.

  • emm3321 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

I've uploaded photos of documentation. The transmission replacement and the last oil change is documented. I was told by the previous owner that all service intervals were followed. The car was also a CPO until just before I purchased the car. The only thing I needed to replace after I bought it was the windshield washer hose in the hood, as it had cracked at the hood hinge. It was a $20 part, and took about 10 minutes to do.

@emm3321 I have a local friend interested. Please let me know the best way to reach out so he can view the car.

  • tunaman (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Im trying to look for service history on the car but carfax is vague. Have the 10,000, 20,000 etc mile maintenance been performed? Belts, pullys, plugs? Thanks!

What town is the car in for a pre inspection if needed?

  • emm3321 (seller) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Details on the PDK: In late July, the PDK had a clutch position sensor error. Essentially the controller did not know if the clutch was engaged or disengaged. The car went into safe mode, and would not shift out of neutral. Fortunately, the car was not moving at the time, so I just had it towed to Porsche of Nashua to have it evaluated. They determined that there were two options. First, to replace the valve body, which contains most of the sensors and solenoids, and second, to replace the entire PDK. The first option was risky, and if it did not solve the problem, then the whole PDK would need to be replaced anyways.
After some research, I decided that replacing the whole unit was the right thing to do, so it was replaced at the dealer. They went through the rest of the car and everything else was fine. I'm planning on uploading the documentation of the replacement this evening. The transmission is warrantied for 2 years by Porsche. Full disclosure: the dealer has only seen this issue twice with the 981, and the full replacement cost was $17,500.

    325hp is the spec for a ‘14 S

I own a similar car in mahogany metallic with 23,000 miles. I am curious about the transmission replacement. Why?

  • bldn10 (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

    Isn't it 325 hp?

Hello everyone, thanks for visiting my auction. Let me know of any questions. I will upload some documentation photos this evening.

  • emm3321 (seller) 1 year, 3 monthsago

@BenQ Wow, it is a small world. I took these photos in your backyard at Great Brook Farm.

  • emm3321 (seller) 1 year, 3 monthsago

@LFM2024 At car shows, I would always say it was a GTS the year before they came out. The previous owner told me that the original owner sold this car to buy a GT4 in 2016.

  • LFM2024 1 year, 3 monthsago

Great spec! Rare to see a 981 Cayman S with PCCBs. Interesting that the original owner didn't just go with a GTS.

  • BenQ (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Wow, small world. I live in Carlisle and have a high sticker 2014 Cayman S. If you don’t sell, please reach out - I would pay you $10k to swap brakes.
