Boasting a nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution, the Cayman is one of the best-handling vehicles in the Porsche lineup, attributed to its mid-mounted boxer engine combined with a rigid lightweight chassis. This 2014 Porsche 981 Cayman S comes finished in White over a Black interior and features 20” Carrera S wheels, the Sport Chrono Package, the Premium Package, front and rear ParkAssist, a SportDesign steering wheel, a Porsche PDK transmission, and more. This example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia showing approximately 53k miles on the odometer.
This Cayman S is finished in White and features optional 20” Carrera S Wheels. Design details include front fog lights, black trim pieces, side air intakes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, polished dual exhaust outlets, and red-finished brake calipers. The seller notes that several panels have been expertly replaced due to a collision with a tire wall that occurred during its only track day. A small ding is present on the driver’s side lower panel behind the wheel and paint protection film covers the front end. It rides on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with black leather upholstery and features optional 14-way power adjustable partial leather Sport Seats with ventilation and a SportDesign steering wheel. Additionally optioned equipment includes the Premium Package, front and rear ParkAssist, and Bi-Xenon Headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS).
Equipped with a 7-Speed PDK transmission and a 325 HP reconfigured version of the Carrera’s 3.4-liter flat-six engine, the 2014 Cayman S achieves 0-60 MPH in just 4.4 seconds. The optional Sport Chrono Package enables the driver to optimize performance characteristics and clock lap times using the dashboard chronograph. The seller adds that a set of Hawk Street/Track brake pads have been installed and service items carried out at approximately 47k miles include an oil and brake fluid change, new coil packs, and spark plugs by AutoSport Systems Group.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller wants you to know: “Hello and thanks for taking a look at our very fun-to-drive Cayman S. We are here to answer any and all questions. Good luck to all bidders!”

Picture 64 in the gallery shows what looks like something cracked in the underside. Do you what that is?
@Scratch - ok thanks for the update
@un87 Sorry I'm not.
@Scratch - you mentioned there was no frame damage, I do see a Celette fixture (used for straightening frames) as well as 7 hours of frame labor in the summary.
Are you able to shed some more light on this?

@Jaymcd1949 I don’t think we can message privately because neither of us is a seller, so read this page:
https://www.pcarmarket.com/how-it-works/
Basically, the auction has a time limit. You hit the “Place bid” button to bid… you’ll need to provide a credit card, etc. to bid. That card will be charged the pcarmarket “commission” as soon as the auction ends, if you’re the winner. The “real” bidding starts with only a few minutes remaining and every bid placed extends the expiration clock by 2 minutes. It can get intense at the end. This auction has about 3 hours 50 minutes remaining. Hope that helps.
@kyjef Yes please that would be helpful.
@Jaymcd1949 Hello sir. Feel free to send me a message and I’ll be happy to explain how these auctions work. Or contact pcarmarket.
@Scratch if the car is still available I bid $25,750, contingencies removed, would request assistance from you in getting a PPI performed before shipping…
@305R8 Pictures are of the repaired door panels and have uploaded undercarriage pictures.

@Jaymcd1949 please familiarize yourself with our terms and conditions. Discussing price is not allowed. Also once you win the auction, the sale is final. You should be arranging inspections prior to auction ending. The service fee is non refundable if you win so please do your due diligence prior. You may also contact our helpdesk if you would like to speak to an agent.
Seller you should be aware of this as well. If you want to allow an inspection afterwards, you could be at risk of losing your sale. Inspections should be done prior to bidding.
Are the door panels as pictured in the gallery, before or after being repaired (by Pedro's garage)?
Will you be uploading undercarriage pictures?
Bid in the amount of $24,000
@TransaxleJoe We don't need two if my wife isn't going to do HPDE's. Love the car!!!!!
@Jaymcd1949 If you will let me have someone of my choosing go over the car and finds it acceptable to me then I will bid $24,750. Let me know how we can work this out.
Will u make the sale contingent on an acceptable review given to me by a dealer of my choosing in your area?
Hello, If I may ask, why are you selling your Cayman? Thank you.
scratch Thanks very much for your time. This information shows the effort in bringing
back a beautiful Cayman . don
@Scratch It would be a beautiful drive!
@Scratch Hmmm…let me ask my wife.
Beautiful Cayman, not sure if this will fit into my budget, I was looking for something like a 987 Cayman.
@TransaxleJoe Hey Joe. Give it a bid ,if you get it I might just drive it out!!!
I really like like this Cayman!! Perfect spec. Been looking at 987.2 s 2010-12, cars are in my budget. Great car! GLWS. Wish this was closer in Arizona…sad face
Bid in the amount of $23,750

@donspaulding Hi. It was not the sill that got delaminated it was the door panels. As in where you put your elbow when not driving with two hands on. Very common in that era car (happened in my other Cayman too and 911's). Don't know what "motor chipped" refers to. Pictures of the final bill coming soon.
Image 33 of 54. Is this after the relamination of the sill? Has the motor been chipped?
Show copy of all repair bills after the accident. Thanks, Don
Bid in the amount of $19,981
@Scratch Good for her and good for you! I spent a lot of time instructing for PCA and MBUSA and I know what a challenge it can be to get someone back on the horse after an incident like that. Glad it worked out
Now Hagerty or Lockton should do a commercial with you guys!
@Quackbury Hey. She actually got back and drove my car for the rest of the weekend (ya know that falling off the horse thing). Then did another HPDE at the Glen, again in my car (also a '14 Cayman S) but really had lost her interest but not nerve so we never went down that slippery slop of outfitting her car.
Sorry to read the "its only track day" part. did your wife / friend give up on HPDE's after that, or give up on you? Glad the track insurance took a little bit of the sting out of it.
@donspaulding All cosmetic. No frame damage. Didn't even effect alignment but they did it anyway.
Will try to get undercarriage pictures tomorrow.
@Scratch Thank you for the prompt reply. Reference shunt, meeting of tire wall and
side of vehicle, to include underside, frame damage.
Very nice looking Cayman.
@donspaulding No wing just the standard little wing that comes out at speed. Delamination is off the top of the door panels. 2012-2016 cars had a problem with the adhesive they used. Has happened to both my 2014's. No mods to engine. She only made it around the track one lap under yellow and don't believe it was tracked before we bought the car. I don't have any underside pictures. Not sure what you are referring to "shunt damage"?
Wing removal? Delamination? Enhansed motor (sp)? Has this car had a history with
being a track car (current or previous owners) ? Picture of underside showing shunt
damage? Thanks, don

@raustin33 Thank you. No Carfax cause we had Track Insurance!!!!
Now come on and bid, she's a sweet ride!!!!!!
Just want to high five the seller for their candor here on a minor collision that doesn't show on Carfax. The kind of seller I'd like to buy from.
@Fasflo Hi. First lap in a new car (to her) with cold tires and wet track. I have uploaded the two pictures I have of the damage. Rear bumper cover, right front fender, front bumper cover, right condensor, right muffler and pipe are the main things replaced by Euro Pro Collision (the best in the DMV). Can provide full report if you'd like.

Please describe which body panels were replaced and extent of damage.
Hi. I wanted to add that the door panels have been to Pedro's Garage in Tampa to get the delamination (which all this era of cars get) fixed. Also we have a set of white side lights (illegal in VA) and a set of used OEM brake pads to go with her. Happy bidding!!!!
