Showcasing the iconic Targa design, the first-generation Porsche 991 Targa debuted in 2014 and would become the last of the Targa-variant to have been offered with a naturally aspirated engine. This 4S version is a designated launch vehicle and is offered in White over black upholstery. It was configured at an original sticker price of over $137k including 20” Carrera S wheels, LED headlights, the Sport Chrono Package, Power Steering Plus, a multifunction steering wheel, Premium Package Plus, BOSE Audio Package, and Sport Tailpipes. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina while showing approximately 17k miles on the odometer.

Paying homage to its predecessors, the 991 generation Targa features a glass dome rear windshield as well as a distinctive stainless-steel wraparound Targa bar. This 4S example comes finished in White and features optional LED headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, Sport Tailpipes, and 20” Carrera S wheels with colored Porsche crests. It rides on Pirelli P Zero tires from 2021. The seller states that paint protection film has been applied to the front bumper, hood, and rear fender flares. Two minor blemishes are noted on the window frame and the underside of the front bumper. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor cosmetic damage in October 2022.

The black leather interior features a multifunction steering wheel and 14-way Power Sport Seats with memory functions. Additional options include Power Steering Plus, the Premium Package Plus, a luggage net in the passenger footwell, the BOSE Audio Package, and the Sport Chrono Package which adds a stopwatch dial atop the dashboard. The seller adds that a Porsche dealer-recommended shop installed Apple CarPlay along with front & rear parking cameras. An Escort radar detector has also been fitted with a controlled installed in the armrest area.

A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine sends up to 400 HP to all four wheels through a 7-speed PDK transmission. Equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package, acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in as little as 4.4 seconds. Service items within the last 1,000 miles are said to include all fluids flushed, an oil change, spark plugs replaced, and a serpentine belt replaced. The coolant system was also flushed under warranty due to the coolant valves being replaced in August 2023 as recommended by an authorized Porsche dealer who also replaced the washer fluid distribution lines. The CARFAX report shows a total of 17 service history entries dating back to the initial delivery. This vehicle remains under its Porsche Certified Pre-Owned warranty until November 2023.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, an air pump, a spare tire, a first aid kit, and Certified Pre-Owned documents.

The seller would like you to know:There is something very special about the Targa. I didn't realize this until I owned it because it's such a great cruiser. It is perfectly balanced; much quieter and less windy than a convertible- so you can have a conversation with your passenger, listen to your favorite music, and have an enjoyable driving experience. Because it's a Targa, it has a rollbar so you can take it to a track if you choose to, although it hasn’t seen one before. This car really is perfect, and I am sure the next owner will enjoy it.”

No reserve! Ok, we are in the home stretch, now is the time to consult your spouses (unless it is a surprise gift) and show them this Targa! I am telling you if you ever drove one you would never go back to a convertible or a hard top!! Equally as quiet as a hard top, yet MUCH better than driving a convertible! Talk on the phone hands free or listen to your favorite music. It’s incredible what difference the targa top makes in the perfect sports car. Don’t miss out these only come around occasionally. Most of this year only a handful for sale at any time in the entire country. And this one IS the one to buy!!

Just submitted a photo of her sitting in my garage just now, waiting for you! “Live to Fly” says the license plate…and it surely does!! It will be so hard to see it fly away from me 😔

One last thought, I mentioned average price of these Targas earlier …just to be clear, my Targa is above average in my humble opinion, and that of others who know this car.

  • 1966GC (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Congratulations! The reserve is satisfied. I don’t know whether to say I am glad or sad. Actually, I am sad. This was a dream car for me and totally lived up to every expectation I ever had about Porsche - including service. Really did not expect nor want to sell it, but life happens and things can change rapidly. You are all car people bidding, which means you love life - that means don’t wait!! Live your best while you have it!! Drive the car you always wanted!! I will be very happy for the new owner and helpful in anyway to see them enjoy! Thank you.

And still under Porsche factory CPO warranty that goes with the car at no expense to the new owner!!

  • 1966GC (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Good morning! This is it, the last day of bidding, good luck!! This car is in pristine condition mechanically ready for anything, bid with confidence. Just to repeat, almost 10k was spent on it in July on preventative maintenance and upgrades. Besides the normal oil change, filters, and fluids, and a couple warranty items completed by the local Porsche dealer, I had them replace the serpentine belt, spark plugs, lubricate everything including the top, and do a complete coolant flush. Additionally, I added Apple Car play and front and rear cameras for parking. The Escort radar system is completely custom installed and hidden, and the tires are very new. What Targa 4S are you waiting for? A new one is 250k if you can get it, and if they will sell it for that price. Last I checked the average price sold for this model year is 108k. Someone is going to be VERY happy buying this Targa in this condition.

I would love to see somebody buy this car for a family celebration, such as an anniversary, and make a trip of a lifetime out to the Outer Banks North Carolina. They will be thrilled with the car, and spend a fabulous weekend. This time of year there are less tourists. It’s in the high 70s and the water is warmest. The best time of year to drive a Targa!!

One more day left to go, someone is going home with a fantastic car! Good luck bidders!
If you are interested in a 911 Targa (and you should be, it is way more fun to cruise than other 911s, especially convertibles), then don’t let this car get away. It is perfect as you get with 17k miles. The main difference from a new one is 250k!! Seriously, you don’t see Targas for sale very often. So you have to ask yourself, “what are you waiting for?!”

    @1966GC Thank you

  • 1966GC (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

It’s been consistently seen by the Porsche dealers. Since the 2021 the next mileage record was 14,353 on February 11 23 from Porsche Santa Clarita Service you can contact them. I will get the receipts I was provided, they made an insurance claim. I was satisfied at the time knowing anything less than 4K is a minor job on a Porsche.

  • Racer218 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

    On the Car Fax report:
    11/21 8494 miles
    12/21 no miles reported
    08/22 no miles reported
10/22 damage reported and still no miles recorded
Sold 06/23 14,934 miles. almost 7500 miles between reporting from NY to California to North Carolina.

Can you possibly fill in the missing info and maybe who repaired the minor damage?

Guys, keep in mind this car is still under factory CPO warranty. There is absolutely no mechanical issues with this car, if there was they would already have been addressed. And any buyer will have the same opportunity under warranty - it goes with the VIN not the owner. Porsche is very proactive, the last time I took it in for service, without my knowledge, the shop replaced the passenger door panel under warranty, which I was not even aware had an issue! They had to explain it to me. And adding to my previous response, strange is not the word for selling it, Sad and Tragic are the words. You will have a good purchase story to tell later...

  • 1966GC (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

I already addressed the why for selling it.

  • 1966GC (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

And the 4S handles better than a 2 wheel turbo IMO.

  • 1966GC (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

This is the car, model (Targa 4S), and color combination you have been waiting for (white on black) - men AND women love this color! Don't miss out there are very few of these for sale ever (very low production) and currently no white ones.

  • 1966GC (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Yes, the front seats are heated/ventilated and it has steering wheel heat. The Targa top was lubricated in July along with the service. Much of that service was preventative maintenance, including the top, coolant flush, spark plug replacement and the serpentine belt. Like I mentioned earlier, I was not planning on selling this anytime soon. I also installed Apple Car play and front and rear camera system in July! Probably spent near 10k I will never see again. Look, this car drives like brand new, looks new, there is not even the smallest chip in the glass. The Targa Top works flawlessly and does not make any noises driving. Porsche did all the service on this vehicle top. Frankly, there is little difference from a new model except a few HP. This is factory 400hp. Nothing has been modified with the motor.

What is the hp on this model? Any problem with top movement?

  • muddymogriffin (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Kudos to the owner for maintaining this Targa in such a pristine state. Surely does not look like a vehicle approaching it's 10th birthday! Questions- are the front seats heated and/or ventilated? Is the steering wheel heated? Has the Targa roof mechanism been serviced? Thanks.

The rear bumper cover was repainted due to a parking lot incident. And as for my selling… it was a very personal issue/decision over the car. No, this is not my wish to sell it - at all. If you end up the buyer, I will happily tell you all about it. But rest assured you will not be buying a car someone got tired of or was not interested in anymore. This car was loved as much in the garage as on the road. It’s magnificent. I will buy another just like it one day (Targa is the only way to go)…if I can find one like this.

  • Yugofirst (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Could you elaborate on the minor damage report?
What changed your mind regarding having had no intention of selling it?
    Thanks.

  • 1966GC (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Welcome to the auction of my beautiful 911 Targa 4S. I had no intention of ever selling it, and therefore spared no expense on it. Someone is going to be very happy with this purchase. It is still under CPO factory warranty, so there are no concerns with anything mechanical. Apple car play, front and rear cameras, built in Escort Radar detector, and it just had all the major servicing you can get done with such low mileage. We did everything the dealer recommended. Just buy it and enjoy the ride! ...And what a ride. The Targa is AWESOME!!
