The seller has fitted a set of stainless-steel headers without catalytic converters, along with a stainless-steel exhaust system, a Cobb ECU tune, a custom PDK tune with the paddle shifting order reversed, an AFE Power Magnum Flow Pro Dry S air filter, and reports power to be estimated around 434 HP and 353 lb.-ft. of torque on 93 octane fuel. Additionally, recent service is said to include the following:
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a car cover, a battery charger, the OEM bolt-on headers with catalytic converters, and a branded (rebuilt) title.
The seller would like you to know: “Don't miss this opportunity to purchase what some would consider the best performance spec for the last of the NA 991.1 convertibles! This is a rebuilt salvage which means it can be registered in any state without additional scrutiny, just like a clean title vehicle. While you never find out much history of a salvage vehicle, it is not a collision car, not a flood. It was listed as run & drive, and my educated guess is that the previous owner left the top down outside in a storm, and the insurance company decided against spending the $$$ estimate from the local Porsche dealer for the repair. I know door panels, leather seat covers, etc. were part of that estimate. I had a Burmester amp expert repair the amp (under the passenger seat), which showed a small amount of water infiltration on one corner, though the recess it is located in under the seat was completely dry. That was the only repair needed related to the salvage auction. I have seen no evidence that the car has seen any paintwork. Other maintenance, repairs, and upgrades are listed separately.”

Today is the day everyone! Don't miss the opportunity of a lifetime to buy a great condition, great spec car without paying full retail. Please forgive my earlier grammar and spelling errors. Those posts were rushed, on my iPhone, while walking with my dog on a trail. I will be online and available all day today. Look for a video that Pcarmarket is supposed to be getting online. Direct message if you like as well!
@tehan2 Don't miss the car of a lifetime by a day :) Message me if you would like to talk openly about everything I know about the car.

What a gorgeous spec. Good luck
Bid in the amount of $27,991
Thanks @anythingwheels. Sadly, I'll be in CT a day too late for this auction. (for work, and to visit my daughter in Storrs) Would have loved getting eyes on it before end of auction.
@tehan2 A full price "Through everything at it estimate" to make the insurance company say no thank you. This is why I believe we are seeing more and more great cars at salvage auctions. The insurance companies decided not to be held hostage by dealers.
What's interesting is the salvage auction info notes the primary damage is "minor dents and scratches" and unknown secondary damages. The photos from the auction don't show anything noticeable either. Unusual for an insurance company to total a vehicle for minor dents and scratches. If this was a southern car, maybe hail damage, but I don't recall any major hail in Feb 2023 Connecticut. Interesting it was in for service 2 weeks before Insurance company wrote it off. Wonder if something happened at Hoffman?????
Bid in the amount of $19,550
I had the cover off while doing the custom Cobb tune and simply forgot to put it back. It's in the funk. The custom tune involves driving though various driving conditions while logging, allowing the tuner to fine to for my car, my exact config! I think we went through 5-10 to get the current tune.
@smokeat225, Yes! In Connecticut a salvage has to pass a comprehensive inspection for them to offer a rebuilt title which can be registered in most states as easily as a clean title car. That was before the cat was removed but I suspect it would pass today as there is no visual or sniff tests in Ct. the plug into the ODBE which is happy with no check engine lights as it retains all the factory oxygen sensors. Worst case, reinstall the factory bolt on cats in a couple of hours.
@smokeat225, all pictures where taken within the last two weeks, with the exception of 139-150. That was when I upgraded the exhaust this time last year.
@thejumbo, I couldn't agree with you more! I'm a "save the manuals" guy at heart, but dammit if the PDK doesn't shift better, faster...... it knows what gear you want before you do. It's like it has ESP to know about the sharp corner ahead.... When you want control this car will go FULLY manual mode. Not Porsche knows best manual. It will stick with the gear you chose. And as others have pointed out, the Cobb transmission tuning does this, enhances a number of things you can find on their website, and as others here have accurately pointed out "fixes" the console shifter order. And real PDK paddles, not the Porsche steering wheel buttons!
Hello everyone, seller here. I'm excited to be listing my first car on PcarMarket. I've used 2 of the major competitors over the years and am generally very responsive to questions. In this instance I'm 800 miles from home, camping without cell service! I will come into town a couple of times a day, and will be online all day when the auction ends. For a tittle background I'm an enthusiast (not a business) who has owned 75 vehicles since turning 16! 8 of those in the past 8 years have been salvages. With a salvage vehicle you never know exactly why it was salvaged, unless it was tied to an obvious accident. In addition, through out the old notion of 75% the value to repair as being the benchmark to total a car. Now the insurance company may get a sky high estimate from a mainline dealer. and will just put the car value and sell the salvage car to recoup much of the claim. This car was not a collision, and not a flood car. It also shows zero evidence of either, other than the damaged amp. I was able to get to glance at a local Porsche dealer estimate that included a passenger door panel, passenger seat cover, etc. Those items look great, everything being consistent with this vintage Porsche. To my knowledge EVERYTHING works perfectly! Every switch, every function. The car is simply beautiful. This is my 5th Porsche and my 2nd 911. I'll miss this more than any of the previous 74!
In photo 94, it appears the drivers footwell fuse cover is missing. Was it just removed to replace a fuse, or is it not included in the sale?
Can you describe the interior some more given you think the car was left exposed to some sort of water event - rain, thunderstorm etc ? How are the interior surfaces v. Is the leather drained, discolored, wrinkled ? Are the dash and door panels warped, pulling away etc ? Do all gauges, electrical etc work properly ?
Thx
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Is the car available for a PPI?
Has the car passed CT emissions test after it was declared a loss?
When were photos 136-147 taken?
Do you have additional information as to the reason the car was reported as a total loss?
@Hotwheeljohn I just read the listing more carefully - this makes more sense now.
In the 991.1, on the PDK in the center console, Porsche, for some reason, had + as the push towards the dash, and - as the pull from the dash, which is reverse from most racecars and logic, really.
When you're braking hard, instinct is to hit the shifter forward to drop gears. It appears the current owner rectified Porsche's gaff and reversed it, making it correct.
PDK is great in these cars - opens it up to be a grand tourer and highway rush hour car, too.
I love everything about 991 911s. I'll be watching this.
@Hotwheeljohn They rectified it in the later gens. Likely was a packaging decision under the skin.
I agree about the PDK a comment, but that color is so nice, I will be watching this one. Trying to understand the reasoning behind reversing the PDK shift pattern. If someone can explain the benefits/ logic behind this, I’d love to learn this tidbit. Car is not w/o some significant drawbacks, but at the right price might be on y radar.
Why did it have to be PDK :( Such a nice example otherwise.
