This 2014 Porsche 991 Carrera 4S Coupe received a safari-style custom build, featuring a roof rack, upgraded suspension components, Porsche Dakar wheels, and more. Wearing a matte grey vinyl wrap, this example was factory specified in Rhodium Silver Metallic over a Black and Luxor Beige leather interior. Options include full LED headlights with PDLS+, ParkAssist, Sport Chrono Package, Carbon Interior Package, carbon fiber center console trim, Premium Package Plus with Power Sport Seats, and the BOSE Audio Package. Showing less than 21k miles on the odometer, this C4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

The Carrera 4S features wider bodywork compared to the standard Carrera and is distinguished by its signature full-width taillight. This example was factory-finished in Rhodium Silver Metallic and wears a matte grey vinyl wrap. Equipment includes an optional electric sunroof, full LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), and front and rear ParkAssist. Modifications consist of a removable Porsche roof rack, Yakima rack, and 19”/21” Porsche Dakar forged light-alloy wheels mounted with Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires installed less than 600 miles ago. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, this example features two-tone Black and Luxor Beige leather upholstery accented by the optional Carbon Interior Package and carbon fiber center console trim. Additional amenities include a heated multifunction steering wheel, BOSE Audio Package, Sport Chrono stopwatch dial, Voice Control, and 14-way Power Sport Seats as part of the Premium Package Plus, which also adds heated and ventilated front seats, Porsche Entry & Drive, and Ambient Lighting. The seller notes the passenger window switch functions intermittently.

A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 400 HP and 325 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. This example is also equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package. Off-road-oriented upgrades include a Safari subframe solid bushing spacer kit, GT3 ERX street outer control arms, GT3-R rear wishbones, Von coil-over front suspension, and adjustable-length control arms.

This sale will include a clean title.

@drmarkG Hello, yes it has 2 keys. Recently serviced 2 weeks ago (oil change, filter, cabin filter). Has not been thrashed yet off-road, although if does not sell it’ll be used by my client on the dirt roads of NM. All the mods are functional, coil overs, Elephant Racing control arms, safari subframe spacers, wheels, and tires, even the rack is functional but removable. Thanks!

  • drmarkG (registered bidder) 21 hours, 26 minutesago

Both keys? Are all services current? Has this car seen much off road activity? Are the changes just for aesthetics?
I didn't see that here some of these answered here. Thanks!

@SkyBlueSky This 911 rides smoother than a stock 911, less vibration, but does not compromise street cornering performance. Tire noise is about the same as a stock setup. The tires are also speed rated “V”allowing for safe speeds of 149MPH. Thanks.

@BrownAndCoMotorcars I haven’t really been in a 911 that didn’t have traditional road/highway tires, how does this one run on the freeway? Is the ride a bit rough? Does it handle okay at 75-80 mph?

  • BrownAndCoMotorcars (seller) 1 day, 13 hoursago

Good evening everyone, the auction will end tomorrow at 3PM EST. I will be with the car for end of the auction for any last minute questions. Also, feel free to reach out if you would like a shipping quote. Thank you, good luck!

  • BrownAndCoMotorcars (seller) 1 day, 19 hoursago

@Glickster If someone wanted to return it to stock that’s still an option. This build went the subtle route, but still capable, some “safari” or “off-road” builds tend to go a bit overboard. Would daily drive this over a stock 911 allowing you to not have to tip toe everywhere especially if I had a to go down the occasional dirt road. Thanks!

  • BrownAndCoMotorcars (seller) 1 day, 19 hoursago

@J03399455 Good afternoon, the wheels are Staggered. Front tires: 245/45R19 Rear tires: 295/40R20. Did some research and they do not appear to be run flats. No spare. Thanks.

  • Glickster (registered bidder) 1 day, 19 hoursago

To my view only, the real value in this low miles 991 4S lies in returning the car to (basically) stock configuration (rhodium is a very nice color btw). This isn't really a "safari" car, and rather than have it sit somewhere in between a real off-road "beast" and a "modified" 991, I'd recommend offering the car in "stock" forward with (perhaps) some nice aftermarket suspension "improvement."
Either way, good luck with the auction . . . nice car!

  • nickrob (registered bidder) 1 day, 20 hoursago

Very tempting.. I love the 991.1 S with its pure engine sound from that 3.8 na, and this one is a lovely spec. The safari build is so unique on a 991. Would be a great daily driver, easy to skip right over today’s rough roads.

  • J03399455 (registered bidder) 1 day, 20 hoursago

Are the wheels still staggered like stock, or are they all the same dimensions so that you only have to carry one spare? (Actually, does it have a spare wheel/tire, or are these still run-flats?)

Good evening everyone, the front spring rates are 225 pounds with a helper spring. The car rides smoother than a stock 991 in my opinion but still corners flat. The current ground clearance of the front lip and side skirts are 8 1/8 inch or 20.64 cm. A stock C4S according to the internet is 4 inches. Keep in mind the coil-overs are of course adjustable so you can raise and lower it to your liking. Thanks!

Please show close ups of the headliner around the sunroof. Appears to be stained. I would also like close ups of the sunroof tracks and video of it functioning.
    Thanks again.

  • WcLp1911 3 days, 20 hoursago

Thanks for your quick response. You are absolutely correct. I too checked a Dakar on BaT... same seam and heavy undercoating.
    Thanks for your response.

@WcLp1911 That’s just how they are, I spent the time to double check for you by looking at several other cars online. I will post a photo of the car right after it was bought CPO from Porsche of Jacksonville 3 years ago. Thanks.

  • WcLp1911 3 days, 22 hoursago

And, while I'm at it, how's the paint underneath the wrap and why was it wrapped.
    Good looking build.
    Thanks

  • WcLp1911 3 days, 22 hoursago

    Hello,
I'm referring to pic 87, 88, 90 & 91. It appears that there is a ripple across the plate with heavy undercoating on it. The whole plate seems heavily overcoated to my eye.
    Thanks much .

  • BrownAndCoMotorcars (seller) 3 days, 23 hoursago

@WcLp1911 Hey, if you are referring to photo 87, that is just dirt from driving on some wet roads. Thanks.

  • WcLp1911 3 days, 23 hoursago

    Thanks for your response.
Any info on the undercoating over spray on the panel underneath?
    Thanks

  • BrownAndCoMotorcars (seller) 4 daysago

@wcLp1911 Yes, I will photograph the parts that will be included and add it to the gallery. Thank you.

  • BrownAndCoMotorcars (seller) 4 daysago

@anabhan Good morning, let me check on that for you and give you an exact answer. Thank you.

  • WcLp1911 5 days, 11 hoursago

Does this include OEM parts removed for Safari conversion?

  • Damaho912 5 days, 20 hoursago

@BigWheels depends on how hard core you want to take it. Upgraded lighting on front, more substantially-bolstered buckets, roll cage, spare tire on the roof rack, maybe a few more things. Looks like the engine/trans is substantially protected however I can’t see that the back end of the car looks to see if the exhaust is adequately protected. Personally, I’d take it as is. I’d never take a 911 on a “safari” but would sure like one that could handle the snow.

  • anabhan (registered bidder) 6 days, 21 hoursago

What are the spring rates compared to the stock springs?

  • BrownAndCoMotorcars (seller) 6 days, 21 hoursago

@dranon Hey, wrap has been on for about 3 years now and the build was completed August of last year. Thanks!

  • BrownAndCoMotorcars (seller) 6 days, 21 hoursago

@ Ksdaoski Hello, it is about 2-3 inches higher than stock. Next time I’m next to the car I will measure it up. Since it’s on coil-overs you’d be able to adjust it up or down. Thanks.

Nice build, any idea how long the wrap has been on? When was the Safari build done?

  • BigWheels (registered bidder) 1 weekago

@Damaho912 @Damaho912, safari elements would you add? Thx

  • Damaho912 1 weekago

I would call this a “safari-lite”. Missing some key elements to make it a full-blown safari.
