Representing the 6th generation of the BMW 3-Series, the F30/F31/F34 was first introduced in 2012 and was the first 3-Series to be powered exclusively by turbocharged engines. This F31 328Xi Sport Wagon was ordered in Glacier Silver Metallic over a Black Dakota leather interior with red contrast stitching and was configured in the Luxury Line specification. It was also optioned with the Drive Assistance Package, Premium Package, heated front seats, a power sunroof, Park Distance Control sensors, and a BMW Professional navigation system. Showing approximately 86k miles on the odometer, this 328Xi Sport Wagon is now being offered at auction by its seller out of California.
The exterior is finished in Glacier Silver Metallic (A83) and features pearl gloss chrome trim and Satin Aluminum roof rails as part of the Luxury Line specification. Equipment includes automatic headlamps, fog lights, power-adjustable auto-dimming door mirrors, a roof-mounted sharkfin antenna, a rear window spoiler, and dual exhaust tips. The CARFAX report shows an incident that occurred in October of 2021 causing damage to the front bumper, headlights, and left front fender, resulting in the vehicle being issued a rebuilt title. The seller notes that an M-Sport front valence was added after the accident and was painted in Glacier Silver Metallic. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with the complete CARFAX report. This Sport Wagon rides on 18” BMW Style 416 wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires showing about 30% of tread remaining.
The interior features power-adjustable front seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in Black Dakota leather with red contrast stitching, matching door panels, and black carpeting. Amenities include an M-Sport leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with matching red inner stitching and paddle shifters, push-button ignition, a power sunroof, a BMW Professional iDrive-based navigation system, Silver Matte trim, a hi-fi sound system, a split fold-down rear seat, a power tailgate, and automatic climate control. The optional Premium Package provides Dakota leather upholstery and Comfort Access keyless entry, while the Drive Assistance Package equips a rearview camera and Park Distance Control sensors. A set of gray Weathertech floor liners cover footwells and cargo area.
The 328Xi is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged N20 engine rated at 241 HP and 260 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by BMWs xDrive all-wheel-drive system and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The seller reports this Sport Wagon has completed a California emissions test and a full service within the last 3500 miles.
This sale will include a rebuilt title, owner’s manuals, and some service documentation.

Congrats, couldn’t justify paying more than 15k for a salvage car after timing chain, tires…
When I can get 2016 f31 for 18k with less miles.

@CABRIOLET-INT Our pleasure.
Thank you all PCAR enthusiast and bidders for showing interest in my BMW Wagon. The auction will be ending in less than 4 hours good luck bidding. This Wagon has been a pleasure to drive and a nice break from driving my Mercedes Sprinter Van. I have had no issues with the Wagon what so ever and am sure the next owner will have the same experience. If it wasn't for the arrival of my BMW Alpina B3 Touring wagon I would not be selling the 328Xi. Thank you PCAR MARKET for hosting my ad.

@drejw2 they've only owned it for 3k miles, it's probably not reasonable to expect a ton of detailed info. Either way the new owner is going to have to factor in the cost of the timing chain repair which runs about $5k if you take it to a shop. It's about $1000 in parts and close to 20 hours of labor for a skilled home mechanic.
BTW, this car is 4WD and doesn't have staggered tire sizes, if the tires were properly rotated you shouldn't have early wear in the front, you would replace all 4 tires together. BMWs tend to wear the rears more not the fronts.
@WagenWanter Agreed, there is half an inch gap in the middle of the hood and the front bumper trim. Everybody, cam see the paint chipping around the sensors and the tow hitch cover not fitting properly, owner denies it.
The car has mismatched tires, he acknowledges that the front are pilot sport 4s and the back pilot sport but denies the mismatch.
No record of service done before his purchase on Carfax or anywhere, he says it was because the cars computer says so, I can reset that in one second with an OBD2 tool.
to each his own, I will still bid on it for my 17-year-old kid, but now I am concerned about what is not being disclosed.
@drejw2 I'm also concerned about it possibly being one of the cheap aftermarket M Sport bumpers, it just seems like the fit is off above the headlights for hood and fenders as well as the sensors not fitting like they should from factory. You can also see around the sensor locations where the paint is chipped and rough. I've never replaced those sensors so maybe someone can comment on how they're installed and why they don't seem flush.
@drejw2 Hi Thanks for you inquiry
1) Service preformed by previous owner I did not get that invoice according to BMW on Board-Computer next service is in 4000miles
2) The Wagon has Michelin Pilot Sports front and back. Rear tires are Michelin Pilot Sports ( no longer available and replaced with either Super Sport or Sport 4S). The front tires were replaced more recently as they tend wear quicker and are Sport 4S.
3 & 4) All sensors operating properly as shown in one of the screen pictures listed in ad, the sensors fit properly in the bumper which reveals a round shadow around each sensor, Front valance fits nicely please see detailed pictures regarding fit.
very nice car, I am hooked.
1- any proof of the service 3500 miles ago?
2- are tires mismatched, the fronts Pilot sport 4s and the rear Pilot sport?
3- are all the sensors on the front of the cars in working condition and properly installed? what's the black ring around them?
4- does the toe cover in the front bumper sit properly, or the whole bumper is an aftermarket replica that doesn't fit 100%?
good luck with the sale

@CABRIOLET-INT sounds good, thank you! It would help a lot if you can post a cold start video with the camera and microphone pointed at the front of the engine. There are lots of YouTube videos on how to check for this issue... search for "BMW N20 timing chain noise". If it's quiet I suspect the amount this car will sell for will increase substantially
@gtmotor The car was fully serviced and inspected prior to my purchase and there weren't any issues found including no issues with timing chain module. You are welcome to check with BMW of North America using the VIN listed in the ad.
@CABRIOLET-INT I meant to say I have only driven vehicle 3000 miles during my ownership not 300.
@CABRIOLET-INT my question was more geared toward the class action lawsuit related to the timing chain module settlement and not routine maintenance. Any documentation that you may have related to this will help with your auction.
@gtmotor I have only driven the car 300 miles in my ownership and have not had to service car as next service shows due in 4000 miles.
@gtmotor Thanks we only have one Key and I am sorry I do not have pictures as the car was damaged before I purchased it. I did see a picture showing damage to left front fender, headlight, and front valance. Hood and right fender were not damaged and air bag was not deployed.
One more question... have you had any preventative maintenance done to the timing chain/tensioner?
How many keys come with the car? Do you have any pictures of the accident damage?
I have been a BMW FANATIC going back to the late Seventies when I bought my first BMW a 1973 2002tii. That experience motivated me to Visit the BMW Factory and later to Alpina. To date I have owned several Dozen BMW''s including: BMW 2002 turbo, 3.0CSL, too many to count e30 M3's( my first I bought new in 1990), Alpina B6 e30, Alpina B7 Turbo coupe. Long and short I have passion for the Bimmers. This 2014 Sport Wagon has been a great reliable driver and am regretfully selling it to make room for a BMW B3 3.2 6 speed Touring Wagon that I recently Imported from Europe. Feel free to reach out with your questions or concerns and good luck bidding!
@M444 Yes it is some states call them "Rebuilt Title" and other's 'salvage Title.
Is a rebuilt title the same as salvaged title?
