Pairing a 6-speed manual transmission with its naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine, this 2013 Porsche 981 Boxster S comes finished in Black over matching upholstery. It was factory optioned with 20” Carrera S wheels, bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, 14-way Sport Seats, the Infotainment Package with BOSE Surround Sound, and the Premium Package. Modified with a COBB Accessport tune, sport headers with 200-cell catalytic converters, SOUL Performance exhaust tips, and a BMC F1 replacement, this example Boxster S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of South Carolina showing less than 33k miles on the odometer.
This 981 is finished in Black with a matching convertible top and is distinguishable as an “S” model from a standard Boxster by its red-painted brake calipers and central dual-tipped exhaust outlet. Optional equipment includes bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and 20” Carrera S wheels with colored Porsche center crests. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage in October 2014.
The cabin presents Black partial leather upholstery and 14-way power-adjustable Sport Seats including the Memory Package. Other options include front seat heating and ventilation and the Premium Package which adds auto-dimming mirrors with an integrated rain sensor, a wind deflector, and two-zone automatic climate control. Additionally, the car features the Infotainment Package with BOSE Surround Sound which adds Porsche Communication Management 3 (PCM 3) with HD Radio and extended navigation. All gauges and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.
A naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 315 HP and 266 lb.-ft of torque stock to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Modifications include a COBB Accessport tune, sport headers with 200-cell catalytic converters, SOUL Performance exhaust tips, and a BMC F1 replacement. The seller notes that the last major service was performed at 32,042 miles and recommends performing a time interval-based service.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, and a toolkit.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for your interest! This car belonged to my late husband, who took excellent care of it. This Boxster S was one of his loves, and its condition reflects the same. This car was his sunny day driving car. Although most would be satisfied with the performance of the Boxster S from the factory, my husband was not. The list of modifications reflects my husband's desire to unleash this car's potential. His success was reflected in his face when driving the car. Please feel free to ask any questions, and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge and ability.”

Hi PCar Community! Earlier today took car to a lift that I was told would accommodate the car but on arrival did not. Few miles later obtained the best pictures possible given the circumstances. Looks clean inside, outside and underneath! Wishing you all a good evening and best of luck bidding tomorrow!

Hi! PCar assissted me with the upload of the top opening and closing and the Carfax I had from 3/28/23. Regarding questions as to minor damage I have no further information that the reply sent to drgilani 4 days and 18 hours ago. As regards the DME first available appointment at McDaniels for a DME is unfortunately this coming Friday. Undercarriage photos will be attempted this afternoon. Thanks again for your viewing and interest!
Would it be possible to get a DME? You may be working on that as I have seen that question in the comments.
HI again! Well folks, I was able to upload the service record and the title correction. I was again foiled in my attempt to upload a document/video, this time the CARFAX. Will address with PCar Market in AM. Thanks for your understanding!

Good day to all of you in the PCar Community! I am uploading the CARFAX report which I downloaded 3/28/2023. Though they define the car as a two owner, I am uploading the title correction page with the VIN#. This is when I was added to the title. It was always my husband's car. Also a friend of mine from out of town was looking at the car and noted that the battery was a 2019. He advised as the weather was becoming colder I have the voltage checked. McDaniels Porsche did so on Friday and said the battery was a "little low". Hoping to provide a positive experience for the new owner I replaced the battery and also did the recommended oil change. A multipoint inspection was performed without further recommendations. I am uploading the service record to the gallery. As the service upload indicates tire tread measurements are at 8/32" all the way around. After that trip and a perspective buyer viewing the mileage is now at 32,459. I hope you all have a great week and thank you for your respectful viewing and comments!
@spreen Happy Birthday! Hope 59 turns out to be a great year! I am sorry for the loss of your father and happy for you that now you are looking to fulfill your shared wish for your dream car. Maybe this will be it! When you drive your dream car I hope it puts a smile on your face!
Good morning, few questions.
1- Car fax shows minor damage to left side in October 2014, do you have any details or pictures about it.
2- Any chance of getting a DME
3- Pictures of undersurface if possible.
Thank you
@TX_Saint Thanks for the question. Smoking and dining not allowed in this car so no treatment needed. Have a great night!
@itaos Good evening! I have attempted upload of the video and am unable to get it to load. Will address with PCar on Monday and upload then. Top moves smoothly. My apologies for the delay.
@TX_Saint How do you know it smells like smoke?
Bid in the amount of $17,000
So sorry for your loss. My Dad passed two years ago and never got to own the car he dreamed about for decades. My dream car is a Porsche and I'm doing it for him and me. Just turned 59 yesterday and ready to make it happen! Maybe this is the one? :)
Hello. Does the interior smell of cigarette smoke or has anyone treated the interior to remove the smell of cigarette smoke?
@itaos HI! Have uploaded window pics and will upload video of top tomorrow. Hope you have a wonderful evening!

Can you please take a picture of each door with the window down as you are standing over the door looking down? I am trying to ensure the condition of the inner door trim where it meets the window. Thanks!

@ShiftIt thank you so much for your response. Any possibility to lay eyes on the car as I’m local. Almost same zip code.
My inquiry was regarding the included carfax report with auction that shows minor damage to left side. If you may know of any details.
@drgilani Thank you for your comment and inquiry. In the service record image I included the front of a CARFAX report downloaded to my computer 3/28/2023. There was no mention of any damage.
Although I reviewed all the available service records and documentation in my late husband's file I see no record of the CARFAX reported damages. I will be more than happy to send detailed images of any areas as you request. You are entirely correct in that the Boxster S was serviced almost exclusively at McDaniels. To be complete there was one service done at HBi Auto when the after market modifications were done. If I can be of further assistance please don't hesitate to reach out.
I’m not sure if this comment is right for this and moderators please remove this if it’s against the policies.
Im in Columbia SC, and is there any way I can see this car in person in next couple days. Thank you
@drgilani Thank you.
@Quackbury Thank you for the kind encouraging words!
@Sensable Yes these cars are fun to drive--so glad to hear you love yours too! Thanks for sharing.
Can you reflect on the minor damage report noted on CARFAX in 2014, any details or the pictures.
Looks like all services were done at McDaniels.

So sorry for your loss. I'm sure your late husband would be delighted that you chose to list it here, where it will almost certainly find a new home with an enthusiast who will treasure it as he did.
I have the 2016 version of this fantastic S. It is my 4th Pcar and is by far the most enjoyable to drive of all of them. This example would sorely tempt me if I were in the market. It is so obvious that the owner loved this car. GLWA. Someone is going to get one heck of a ride.
