The second-generation Mini Cooper John Cooper Works GP, limited to 2,000 units worldwide, debuted in 2013 as a track-oriented version of the John Cooper Works. It features a specially tuned 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, aerodynamic bodywork, a stiffened suspension, larger brakes, and much more. Among the 500 examples designated for the U.S., this highly sought-after Mini comes finished in Thunder Grey Metallic over black upholstery and features approximately $9k in aftermarket modifications. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado with approximately 31k miles showing on the odometer.
This GP is finished in Thunder Grey Metallic and includes a unique front bumper with large air intakes, a hood air inlet, distinctive badging, aerodynamic side skirts, and a prominent rear wing. Modifications include a carbon fiber wing, air inlet, and side mirrors, along with blacked-out badges, gas cap light surrounds, and side marker trim pieces. Red finished brake calipers can be seen through the aftermarket 17” O.Z. Alleggerita wheels in Anthracite wrapped in Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires. The seller notes minor paint blemishes consistent with age and mileage, and some minor scuffs on the rear bumper. Paint protection film covers most of the front end, and additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features black upholstery complemented with red accents, carbon fiber elements, piano black trim, and an Anthracite headliner. The driver benefits from high-contrast gauges and a sport-oriented display for essential performance data, along with a leather-wrapped John Cooper Works multi-function steering wheel. Additional equipment includes sport seats, Rennline pedals, door pulls, a floor-mounted Halgaurd fire extinguisher, and bespoke interior badging & branded door sill guards. Other features include automatic climate control, a high-definition radio, and a hands-free Bluetooth system.
Power is delivered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four engine, factory-rated at 211 HP and 207 lb.-ft of torque. The front wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller reports that the car has been well maintained, with regular interval maintenance. The most recent service was performed on June 26, 2024, including the 30k-mile interval, including an oil change, fluid top-off, brake fluid flush, and tire rotation. Additionally, the Fuel Evap Leak Down Pipe (DMTL Pump) was replaced. Modifications are said to include the following:
