The 6th generation of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship SL-Class roadster, the R231 was the first constructed almost entirely of aluminum and saved more than 300 lbs. over its predecessor. This SL550 was originally delivered in New York and was ordered in Cerussite Gray Magno Metallic over an Ash Grey leather interior. It was optioned to an original sticker price of over $121k and was optioned with the Premium 1 Package, Driver Assistance Package, Sport Wheel Package, a Magic Sky Control glass roof, illuminated door sills, a wood and leather steering wheel, and an analog dash clock. Now showing approximately 43k miles, this SL550 is being offered at auction by its seller out of Texas.
The exterior is finished Cerrussite Gray Magno Metallic and includes a power-operated hardtop with an electrochromic Magic Sky Control glass panel, bi-xenon headlights with active curve illumination, an AMG-styled front valance, rear valance, and side skirts equipped by the AMG Styling Package, fender vents, LED taillights, and dual chrome exhaust outlets. The CARFAX report shows an incident in August of 2016 that caused minor damage to the front end and passenger rear end, and the seller reports some scuffing on the underside of the front bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a full CARFAX report. The optional 19” five-spoke AMG wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires from 2019 and 2021.
The cabin is upholstered in Ash Grey leather accented with burl walnut trim. The powered front seats feature heating, ventilation, and Airscarf neck warmers. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a COMAND multimedia system with navigation and Bluetooth functionality, a rearview camera, a Harman Kardon audio system, Keyless-Go keyless entry, and ignition, optional illuminated door sill guards, a wood-trimmed and leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, and Distronic Plus cruise control, and active park, lane-keeping, and blind-spot assist as provided by the optional Driver Assist Package. The seller notes a loose trim piece at the rear section of the center console.
The SL550 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.7L V8, which was factory rated at 429 HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a seven-speed automatic transmission, and allow the SL550 to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in 4.1 seconds. Performance features include electromechanical power steering, a fully independent multi-link front and rear suspension, four-piston front brake calipers, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Automatic Slip Reduction (ASR). The seller has performed a service and inspection in preparation for the next owner, and the CARFAX report shows a consistent history of dealership maintenance since new.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Coachmule We do not. Only paint work on the car is the rear passenger quarter panel. We did paint meter readings on all panels.

Any photos of the damage ? Thanks
@dallasmotorclub, do you have any info on the accident other than the CarFax (which suggests almost 360 degree body damage albeit characterized as “minor”)? Thank you.
