In the early 1990s, Mercedes-Benz debuted the second generation of its famed G-Class, the G-Wagen or Geländewagen, replacing the W460 chassis in production since 1979. The W463 G-Class underwent significant upgrades, particularly in 2009, featuring a larger 5.5-liter V8 engine, updated design elements, and an improved infotainment system. This 2013 example comes finished in Black over matching upholstery and features the Exterior Stainless Steel Package, sidesteps, the Sport Exhaust System, and much more. Showing approximately 74k miles on the odometer, this G550 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
Throughout its long production span, the G-Wagon has maintained its iconic rugged, angular design with flared fenders and high ground clearance harking back to its utilitarian roots. Finished in Black, this example features sidesteps and the Exterior Stainless-Steel Package. Equipment includes a stainless-steel brush guard and matching rear-mounted spare wheel cover. A set of black powder-coated 22” Lowenhart wheels have been mounted with tires showing roughly 50% tread remaining. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting damage in January 2016. An approximate 2” touch-up is noted on the passenger door and a mark on the back spare cover.
Inside, black leather upholstery is complemented by burl wood veneers. Appointments include a leather-clad dashboard, ambient lighting, an electric sliding/tilting roof system, the Seat Comfort Package, and velour floor mats. The car also features front seat heating and ventilation, rear seat heating, a heated multifunction steering wheel, a Harmon Kardon Logic 7 Surround Sound System, COMAND infotainment, and illuminated stainless steel door sills. All gauges and accessories are reported to be working properly.
Power is derived from a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter M273 V8 engine producing as much as 382 HP and 391 lb.-ft of torque. A 7-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels via the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, a two-speed transfer case, and three locking differentials. The Sport Exhaust System is also equipped. The seller notes that a dealer recently performed a fluid change, and the vehicle recently passed a California smog test. Additionally, the CARFAX report shows a total of 21 service history entries.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This car has been excellent. My wife has been driving it for the past 6 months without any issues. Due to her back problem, she can no longer drive a sport utility vehicle.”
