The Gibbs Quadski, launched by Gibbs Sports Amphibians in October 2012, is a cutting-edge amphibious vehicle that transitions between an all-terrain vehicle and a personal watercraft using a marine jet propulsion system and retractable wheels. Equipped with a 140-horsepower 4-cylinder BMW engine, it can achieve speeds of up to 40 and 50 mph on both water and land, respectively, as tested by Car and Driver. Presented in grey and black, this 2013 example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia with under 40 miles showing on the odometer.
This Quadski 's versatile design is finished in grey with black accents and lower-body cladding. The off-road chassis features high ground clearance and wide tires, while the aerodynamic body supports smooth transitions between land and water. Watercraft mode is enabled by retractable wheels and a drag-reducing hull. Equipment includes integrated headlights & taillights, and tow hooks. The seating position provides a sporty, upright posture with a centrally located seat for optimal visibility and balance, ensuring comfort for both driver and passenger. The instrument panel, positioned directly in front of the rider, includes a compact, multifunction display for speed, fuel level, and engine status, with intuitive controls for mode transitions. Detailed images are available in the gallery, and all gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.
Power is provided by a 1,293cc DOHC 16-value inline-four BMW engine, transmitting as much as 140 HP and 103 lb.-ft of torque through a 6-speed automatic manual transmission. It uses a rear-wheel-drive system and independent suspension for land travel and features a separate propulsion system for water use. Transitioning to water mode calls for the use of a hydraulic system for wheel retraction and deployment. When in water mode, it operates like a jet ski, with water propulsion provided by a jet drive. No outstanding maintenance items have been reported.

We are in the last 30 minutes of our Quadski auction and I would like to thank everyone that took their time to view and bid. It was originally $48000 new and with only 9 hours it is a time capsule ready to be enjoyed. I know my experience riding it was a blast. Thanks Bill

Billy can I have this for free ? GLWTA !
I saw that episode also. It is very unique and Jeremy certainly showcased it’s ability on the water. Thanks for looking and comment. Bill
This is pretty cool. I actually saw this on Top Gear when Jeremy was driving this thing on Lake Cuomo and RICHARD was testing the new Alfa ROMEO4c. It is very, very cool.
Sorry I missed the 2 person question and the answer is it is not recommended for 2 people. The XL model which is almost a foot longer in the rear body section was the dual model. However the wheelbase is identical. The XL’s were $68000.00 when new. Thanks
It doesn’t have a hook up like a normal jet ski. There is a hole for raw water pickup in the rear by the jet drive that you can use a 1/2” piece of pvc pipe with a hose adapter to back flush the system. Not complicated and it will clean out the coolers. Thanks
Does it have fresh water flush valve if used in saltwater.
Does it fit two riders?
I just seem to be a magnet for out of the norm finds like this Quadski. It is a unicorn. The lucky auction winner will need to be comfortable speaking with people since it does attract a ton of attention. Thanks Bill

This thing is badass! Where do you find something this cool
Appreciate your comment on the Quadski. It’s really interesting when you are driving down the boat ramp into the water and taking off. Plenty of surprised faces. Priced in the upper mid $40’s new it’s ultra rare for most people to see one in person let alone in the market for sale. People that purchased them hold on to them. Thanks Bill
Cool factor 11/10!!
