Available for auction is this 2012 Volkswagen MK6 Golf R finished in Rising Blue Metallic over a Titan Black leather interior. Representing the third generation of VW’s high-performance Golf R line which began with the R32, the MK6 Golf R features a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, and a 6-speed manual gearbox. This two-owner example has been upgraded with an APR Stage 1 engine tune, H&R coilover suspension, and came factory equipped with heated seats, a Dynaudio premium sound system, a touchscreen navigation system, and more. This Golf R is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois showing just over 59k miles on the odometer.
The Golf R is distinguished by a unique factory body kit including a more aggressive fascia, side skirts, and rear valence with a central exhaust outlet. This 3-door version is finished in Rising Blue Metallic and features self-leveling Xenon headlights, a power sunroof, and a set of 18″ Talladega wheels dressed in Continental tires. A few stone chips are noted on the front end, detailed images can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in Titan Black leather with embroidered “R” logos on the front headrests, while silver trim accents the dashboard and door panels. Amenities include heated front seats, automatic climate control, aluminum pedal covers, a Dynaudio sound system, cruise control, a touch screen navigation system, and pushbutton ignition. Light creasing is visible on the driver seat and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories remain functional.
The EA888 2.0L turbocharged inline-4-cylinder engine is upgraded with an APR Stage 1 tune providing a claimed output of up to 306 HP and 293 lb.-ft of torque using 93 octane fuel. All four wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission and a Haldex 4Motion AWD system. This example has also been upgraded with H&R Street Performance coilover suspension. The CARFAX report shows 11 maintenance history records including a 40k-mile service completed by a Volkswagen dealership in 2020 and another annual service at the same dealership in 2021.
This sale will include a clean title.

Thank you for your comment, makes sense and I appreciate the information.
@highflier thanks for your input to hit the nail on the head with this one!
@SBerastequi I don’t have any record for clutch work. This vehicle has original paint. Thanks

@SBerastequi not sure why 6-8 mils isn't typical. These meters are like dyno's, varying from unit to unit. Very useful for seeing panel to panel variation on the same car but as far as a real paint measurement useless and couldn't pass R&R validation. Part of the issue is the meter itself and part of it is the variation in the underlying substrate thickness.. ie: steel galv/zinc... on some cars there actually should be a slight difference between parts like door jambs, under hood/trunk etc
Has the clutch been replaced or worked on? Also while 4-6 mils of paint thickness is typical from the factory, 6-8 mils isn’t. Any particular reason for this? Thank you.
We just uploaded paint meter test on all panels. Our staff will be working on walk around drive video cold start and undercarriage pictures for the listing presentation!
