As part of the mid-cycle update, the 987.2 featured new headlights and LED taillights, larger front air intakes with incorporated daytime running lights, and a revised lower rear fascia with twin diffusers. This example is finished in traditional Guards Red. Modifications include a GT3-style front bumper “smile” grille, a fixed rear spoiler wing, Porsche side script decals, Eibach lowering springs, and black-painted 19” aftermarket wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.

Factory-rated at 320 HP and 273 lb-ft of torque, the direct fuel-injected 3.4-liter flat-six engine features VarioCam Plus. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission, allowing for acceleration from 0-60 MPH in under 5 seconds. Porsche Stability Management (PSM) comes standard, while a Soul Performance exhaust system has been installed, and the stock headers remain equipped. The seller recommends having an oil service performed.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and a toolkit.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a beautiful Cayman S that catches attention everywhere I drive it. It has been a hard decision to sell the car, but I have not driven the car often since I purchased a GT4. So, it is time to pass it along to someone who will enjoy and drive the car as it should be driven.”

Looking at the recent oil change service, it appears that they charged you for an LN Engineering spin on oil filter, and that you had the spin on oil filter adapter mod. Is this correct?
I will look through my folder and see what else is there.
@TexMix A Porsche specific Foxwell nt530 can read overrevs, and it is a handheld $170 scanner you can find on Amazon for next day delivery. You can either return it once you're done, sell it on eBay, or even throw it in the sale. Another question from me though. Do you have additional service records which is not in the Carfax? I am curious about the oil change intervals.
Thanks for the info.
@TexMix if you have access to a DME reader, check if O2 sensor readiness is set. If so, and the DME is stock, it will pass the electronic part. It would fail the visual but no smog tech knows nor cares about what to look fo
@epaster I The headers are original, I will check with Soul on Monday to get their statement.
@Caymanguy16 Yes we have several Porsche Shops here in the Phoenix area. I have used Zuffenhausen in the past, I will see if they have a DME reader. If not there are many others.
@TexMix generally, while a catback exaust is not “legal” in California, if the headers are genuine and the catback is just high flow, with a stock ecu it will probaly pass
@TexMix the 987.2 definitely scores. LN has come out and said it themselves. It was only cured in the 718. A 2000 car sample size, most of which are low miles, makes it so the total diagnosis amounts are very low
@mhpmapS It looks like it is secured by the two bolts that adjust the rear hatch lid. I added a photo to show the location. I will check with the Porsche shop to get their opinion.

@TexMix Best of luck, that’s a beautiful Cayman, and congrats on the GT4!
Good Afternoon: First, your car is gorgeous. 2)nd you can take your car to a local Porsche shop and have them run a DME. If you have been servicing it at a Porsche dealer, they most likely will do it for free.
How difficult to remove the fixed rear spoiler wing?
@TexMix Apologies, I need to correct a couple after errors in my reply to epaster. I hit the wrong key. It should have been 987.2 had an upgraded motor that did not suffer from bore scoring like the 987.1 did. There are no tell tail signs of bore scoring on cold start up like you would normally find.
😍
@Tmort Hello @Tmort
That's a good question. I will contact Soul to see what they say. I do have the stock exhaust if you prefer to use that. The car did pass a smog test in California with the stock exhaust when I purchased it.
@epaster Hello @epaster
I have not had one done. The 977.2 had an upgraded motor that did not suffer from bore scoring like the987.1 did. The are not tell tail signs of bore scoring on cold start up as well.
Does the exhaust affect smog?
Hi, have you had a used oil analysis done?
Hello Scooteria681
I do not have a current DME Report. I will see how quickly I can get one done.
Welcome to the Auction of my 2012 Cayman S.
The Cayman has been well cared for under my ownership. It has always be kept in a fully air conditioned garage. I don't believe you will find a better 2012 Cayman S.
Please contact me with any questions.
DME report please?
Had one of these, and it was great.
Thanks.
