This 2012 Porsche 987.2 Cayman R is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. It was converted into a GTB1 class race car under prior ownership and is said to have been campaigned by the Isringhausen Porsche racing team before the last owner’s purchase about 4 years ago. The conversion is said to have cost approximately $170k with upgrades including KW 3-way coilovers, GT3 control arms, solid suspension bushings, StopTech brakes, a GT3 master cylinder, CSF radiators, a custom exhaust system, a Guard limited-slip differential, a full roll cage, a fire suppression system, and an AiM digital dash. Showing approximately 23k miles on the odometer, this Cayman R race car is now being offered for auction out of Michigan.
Compared to a standard 987.2 Cayman, the R model features lightweight aluminum doors borrowed from the 997 GT3. This example was factory-finished in Black and wears a custom silver and black vinyl racing livery. The car came factory-equipped with bi-xenon headlights and has been modified with an aftermarket GT3-style front bumper, a front spoiler, canards, quick-release hood latches, an external kill switch, rear window NACA ducts, a large fixed rear wing, a rear tow hook, and aftermarket 18” wheels with Pirelli P Zero racing tires. The CARFAX report shows minor to moderate damage at the front end and undercarriage in 2022. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been stripped for weight reduction and fitted with a full roll cage, an OMP driver’s seat, a Cobra passenger seat, racing harnesses, and a three-spoke Sabelt steering wheel. Other accessories include a custom carbon fiber center switch panel, carbon fiber paddle shifters, a fire suppression system, a Motorola radio, and an AiM MXL 2 digital dash mounted to the left of the instrument cluster.
Factory-rated at 326 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, the mid-mounted 3.4-liter flat-six engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and a Guard limited-slip differential. The engine has been fitted with a custom heat-shielded exhaust system and upgraded CSF radiators. The suspension features KW 3-way adjustable coilovers, GT3 control arms, solid bushings, and adjustable drop links. Stopping power has been upgraded with Trophy Cup StopTech brakes, a GT3 master cylinder and booster, and stainless-steel lines. The seller states the brake caliper pistons and gaskets were replaced in 2023 and the system has been filled with SRF brake fluid. Speed bleeders have also been installed for the gearbox and differential coolers. Additional service history is provided on the CARFAX report.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Don't we all want to spend a day in this car?”

@Hnajem Yes there is an illinois title for the car
@taser I'm sorry i don't know about the cooler or if PDK has been replaced but work on an answer
To be honest I wouldn't bother titling it unless you want to pay tax on it but then again you could potentially title it in a few states that allow it to fail emissions if it was out of state. Granted it would only be valid for a few years.
I understand its a race car, just never owned one that was titled.
My Ferrari challenge was purchased with bill of sale thats why I was curious
@Hnajem It says it includes a clean title. It will 100% not pass emissions based on the fact there are no cats (Cayman has the cats as part of the header) But you do not want to drive it on the street it is a death trap no airbag and 6 point you will snap your neck with no hans if you get in an accident.
This is a Titled car ?

@jallgood1225 No, I can’t believe it would meet the state requirements currently. Thanks for your interest.
