The updated Porsche 997.2 Turbo model debuted in 2010, featuring a larger and more powerful flat-six engine. Equipped with a desirable 6-speed manual transmission, this 2012 Porsche 997.2 Turbo Coupe is finished in Guards Red over a Black full leather interior. It was further configured with the Painted Exterior Package, bi-xenon headlights with PDLS, clear taillights, the Carbon Interior Package, additional leather interior upholstery, and more. Modified with an FVD Brombacher ECU tune and exhaust system, this 997.2 Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Michigan with less than 60k miles showing on the odometer.
Finished in Guards Red, the wide Turbo-specific bodywork features the optional Painted Exterior Package (EAZ), which includes a color-matched front spoiler, side skirts, and rear apron. Additional options include painted mirror attachment points, bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), and clear taillights. The car rides on 19” 911 Turbo II wheels with optional colored Porsche crest center caps and Pirelli P Zero tires showing approximately 50–60% remaining tread. Minor imperfections are noted on the front end, along with a small chip near the top of the windshield. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this Turbo presents Black full leather complemented by the Carbon Interior Package, a carbon fiber-trimmed three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, Guards Red instrument dials, and additional leather extending the center console and door finishers. Other options include heated and ventilated front seats, steering wheel heating, and a SiriusXM satellite radio tuner. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.
Powered by a direct fuel-injected 3.8-liter flat-six engine with twin variable turbine geometry (VTG) turbochargers, the 997.2 Turbo is factory-rated at 500 HP and 480 lb-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD). This example has been modified with an FVD-Brombacher performance tune, a Brombacher “Sport Stock” stainless steel cat-bypass exhaust mated to the OEM muffler, and FVD-Brombacher headers. The seller notes that a complete inspection and 60k-mile manufacturer-recommended service were performed at Porsche Novi in Michigan on June 10, 2025. The inspection report and service documentation are provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title, a window sticker, and a toolkit.
The seller would like you to know: “This very special example is among the last of the Turbo models to have been equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.”

Congrats! I have a 996 Turbo, which I love so much, and would probably have sold had I won this auction. I gave myself a hail-mary budget, knowing it would most likely go over. Just not my lucky day. Congrats again. she's a beauty!
Congrats ooeclipse, good battle and well earned. I guess my first Porsche will have to wait

BTW, if you all are wondering about the "number of misfires" being 65535, that's what happens when all the bits are set to one in the register. Probably a defect in the code when there are actually no misfires.

@AxtellMotors thanks for your response
@PMeister The report has been updated in the attachment section.
@CoppellCarCollector I do not detect any paint work or repairs. I feel this is 100% original. Previous owner purchased it January 2014 and I know he’s never done any paint work or been involved in any type of accident or anything that would require paint work
I find paint thickness ranging from 8 to 13 on my paint meter depending on horizontal or vertical panels. Also older cars versus newer cars paint thicknesses do vary on factory paint.

Also, thanks for the overrev picture. That has the data clearly visible
@AxtellMotors , Thanks for posting the VAL. The formatting cuts off virtually every value on the right. So, kinda not useful in its present form.
@PMeister a photo of one through six has been sent to me by the Porsche manager, along with a PDF file of the complete Val report both have been uploaded and should be visible soon
Thank you and good luck bidding
@AxtellMotors Wouldn’t the double thickness indicate a complete repaint? I’m confused? Do you believe it to be 100% original paint?

@AxtellMotors - Could you let us know what the Range 1 and Range 2 overrevs are as PMeister previously asked about?
@CoppellCarCollector I do apologize the paint meter is 20+ years old. Use it a couple times a year now I just look for consistent numbers between panels.
Sorry.
Question for @PMeister
I was surprised to see paint reading so high. Am I seeing that correction 10-14 micrometers? I have always thought that OEM paint was 5-9 micros?
Bid in the amount of $86,000
ooops, can't edit. I meant "stuff about misfires" where I said overrevs
I know we're getting close to the end but... the DME report only shows overrevs starting with range 3 with some other stuff about overrevs where I'd expect to see ranges 1 and 2. Are they just not shown in reports for the 997.2TT or on a different page and can we see them?

@jtsherri My apologies, I searched for ‘exhaust’ and didn’t find the answer, but then read the entire description and found what I was looking for:
“Brombacher ‘Sport Stock’ stainless steel cat-bypass”
There are two versions of the FVD Brombacher exhaust for this car: one with ‘sport cats,’ which are 200-cell (‘high-flow’) HJS catalysts and another that removes the catalysts altogether.
If the former, the car will run just fine if one wanted to remove the FVD tune or switch to a different solution; however, if the latter, emissions were likely modified to defeat any o2 codes that could be triggered due to the lack of catalysts and unfortunately most other tuners won’t modify emissions in this way anymore.
Do you happen to know which system is on this car?
Bid in the amount of $85,250
Can you submit a video of the car actually driving, video of the tachometer while driving, cold start with revs?
@Erapp100 Sorry. Thought that was a private message to seller. Feel free to remove.
Please let me know if you are interested in exotic car trades. (Would help me with NY 8% sales racy!) thank you!

@ooeclipse there is no damage on that air inlet. It is just a bad reflection on that one photo. I have a small video of that inlet uploaded. Standard wear for a car of this miles for the chin spoiler, rocker and stone chips. Over all it’s very nice with no other damage
@AxtellMotors Hard to tell from the pics, but on pic 35... is there damage to the lower portion of the air inlet? Does that extend onto the body, or just on the inlet cover?
Any other body/paint blemishes aside from the rocker and the undersides of the lips?
thank you
I have known the previous owner as a friend/car client for the past 15 years. The car was in Florida then transported up to Chicago where the owner purchased the car with about 9000 miles.
The exhaust and tune was installed by the first owner in Florida and original parts are gone.
Previous owner has never driven the car during the Michigan winters and has always parked the car in the garage. He has never driven the car on a track or auto crossed.
The tune and the exhaust would have been installed on the car before being purchased by him. Previous owner has not abused or neglected and the car has always been serviced by the local Porsche store.
@ooeclipse 1 underneath photos have been uploaded. 2 I’ll work on paint meter photos and upload later today 3 the exhaust system and the tune was done by the first owner in Florida original parts are no longer available.
@homesliving6 sorry about that. I took the photos with all the others and overlooked them. They are uploaded now thank you and good luck.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
@AxtellMotors
Can we get paint meter readings?
Can we get pics of the underside on a lift?
Do you have the stock exhaust parts still?
Thank you
Is it possible to see some shots of the car on a lift? Curious if this car has any rust issues?
Looks like the level 2 tune per FVD-Brombacher website based on package. Was it tuned up for fun or track? Going to be hard to smog in some states, is the OEM exhaust and header setup come with sale as well as the unit to flash back to stock? If it’s the stage 2 tune it’s a 620 HP car, getting close to the limits of what the rods and stock tranny can handle from what I understand. How long has tune been on car?
@dino70089 copy of paid invoice for 60 K service is being uploaded shortly by Pcar.
Working on previous history of service work done from Porsche of Novi. Previous owner purchased the car with 9000 miles. It has serviced at Porsche Novi from that mileage going forward. Porsche Novi was previously named Suburban Imports of Farmington Hills.
@Carguyy as far as the rev report - no colors on the report – service manager at Fred Lavery Porsche referred to it as a good report – complete PDF of the Val report is available. I’ll check with Pcar on Monday if there’s a way to upload the file ( it could be 40 to 55 pages total)
@Carguyy No paint protection film- previous owner non-smoker – no smoke smell or strange odors
Thanks for the interest and good luck bidding
Beauty!
Any color on the misfire count in the over rev report. Looks like it could be an error.
PPF? Non-smoker? GLWA

@pessah1650 Not sure what your point is. I bought a 2011 997.2 Turbo S back in March, so I'm familiar with current values.
@dino70089 $100k+ car easily IMO
Bid in the amount of $2,000
The Mezger engine in the earlier 997.1 Turbo is certainly a stout engine, but this DFI engine in the .2 Turbo has proven to be dead reliable and does not have the glued on coolant pipes of the Mezger to fail (I owned a .1 and .2 Turbo at the same time, and the cost to get the .1 coolant lines pinned was about $8k).
The .2 Turbo has more power, more torque, and most noticeable, less turbo lag due to greater displacement and direct fuel injection.
And with a manual, these .2s are rare rare rare.

@Richbob photo of rev report should be uploaded shortly. The complete VAL report was just done at Fred Lavery Porsche Birmingham and a PDF of the full report is available
"The seller notes that a complete inspection and 60k-mile manufacturer-recommended service were performed at Porsche Novi in Michigan on June 10, 2025."
But the provided estimate is dated June 17th, and it's an estimate, not an invoice (which would indicate service was actually done). It would've been better to show the report AFTER the service was done to show car has a clean report, rather than the one that shows failures.
Dressed up & ready for the Ball!
Rev report?
Cargo Cover?? Beautiful car! I will never understand why these have so many owners.
