Up for auction is this elegant 2012 997.2 Carrera GTS Cabriolet finished in Dark Blue Metallic over a black full leather interior. Featuring a factory widebody, extensive options and an increase in horsepower, the GTS model has just about everything a driver can ask for. This low mileage example also features a rare 6-speed manual transmission and is now being offered for auction with only 21k miles on the odometer by its seller in Connecticut.
The rarely seen Dark Blue Metallic paint is said to be in exceptional cosmetic condition with paint protection film covering the front hood, bumper, and fenders. The seller notes that due to a chip in the front bumper, it has recently been professionally refinished and re-wrapped in paint protection film. As a GTS variant, this Carrera is equipped with a factory widebody as standard along with upgraded factory 19” center-lock RS Spyder wheels which come wrapped in 2015 dated Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
This GTS is appointed in a pristine black full leather interior that features aluminum trim on the steering wheel, hand brake, and gear shifter. Other unique options and styling cues include: silver seatbelts, deletion of Alcantara, Bose® Surround Sound System, Sport Chrono, (PDLS) Dynamic Light System, auto dimming interior lighting, and more. A full build sheet is listed in the photo gallery. All electronics are said to be in excellent working order and the seller notes that a set of desirable Coco Mats will be included with the sale.
This GTS features a 3.8 L flat-six engine with an increased output of 408 HP and 310 lb-ft of torque over the standard Carrera S model. Power is delivered to the rear wheels by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission making for a 0-60 time of approximately four seconds. The seller notes that an effective and removable DSC Sport controller has been installed which helps control the suspension and stiffen the vehicle ride quality when needed. It is clear that this GTS offered an exhilarating driving experience and is stated to be up-to-date on all due service as of this week.
The sale will include two keys, books, service records, Certificate of Authenticity and a clean Carfax.

@ruf_tristan Pirelli's. You have great eyes or a large screen! Greater than 5/32 on all 4 . Thanks for asking.

@snharris Just for clarification, the description of the vehicle states Michelin PS tires with 2015 date codes, but the photos show Pirelli PZero tires with 2015 date codes - I'm assuming the description is incorrect, and the vehicle is indeed equipped with Pirellis? How much tread life is remaining front/rear? Thank you!

@Takky Yes, it was. I bought it from there. Great sales team, service with the sale was excellent. A great dealership.
I remember when this car was for sale at Walter's Porsche a few years ago - it was very tempting then, and it's very tempting now!
@Railroad_Ave I have a busy work week, can't get to the car until the weekend. I've put 10K miles on the car, and its been serviced regularly. It runs well without any issues.
Bid in the amount of $45,000
Could you possibly post a driving video, or possibly a longer video with good engine and exhaust sounds at various RPMs? Thanks
@GruppeC956 Downsizing my full garage.
@snharris Yes, it does. It's very agile, and still feels analog, pure and raw, which can't be said about a lot of modern (PDK, Turbo-charged, 4-wheel drive) Porsches.
May I ask why you are selling it?
@GruppeC956 Thanks for the good word. This is a wonderful car to rip around in! Handles like a dream.
I own a 2012 997 GTS 6-speed Cabriolet in dark blue metallic with a black roof. Exact same car. Only difference is mine has black wheels, leather/alcantara interior, and a few cosmetic dfferences (body colored seat back etc).
It's a fantastic car that I would wholeheartedly recommend to family member or my best friend. Whoever buys this will be happy. Good luck with the auction!
@gdabatos October of 2019, the front bumper sustained rock damage which went through the Expel film, near the tow hook area. When the clear bra was removed to be changed, the paint came with it, in an uneven fashion. It was decided to repair the small gouge in the bumper and then repaint. After the paint had cured, the Expel film was reapplied. That was the only work on the front.
Can you clarify when you refinished the front bumper. How extensive was it? Repainted? Any other work on the front? Thanks.
@Nlfurniss Just a cold startup for the top demonstration

Is that engine tapping sound expected on a 997? Don't recall hearing it on the 991 I've driven
Enjoy viewing the car. I am available to answer any and all questions concerning the car.
Great color combination and truly a blast to drive.
