This inaugural-year Porsche 991 Carrera S Coupe comes finished in GT Silver Metallic over a Carrera Red Natural Leather interior. Configurated at an MSRP exceeding $142k, it was generously optioned with a 7-speed PDK transmission, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control with Porsche Active Suspension Management & Sport Suspension, the Sport Exhaust System, Sport Chrono Package, Burmester Sound System, Light Design Package, Premium Package Plus with 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, and more. Initially delivered at Manhattan Motorcars in New York, this example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas while showing under 30k miles on the odometer.
This Carrera S comes finished in GT Silver Metallic and features painted headlamp cleaner covers along with yellow-painted Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). It rides on factory 20” Carrera S wheels dressed in Pirelli P Zero tires from 2016 to 2018. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), power-folding exterior mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller notes that this example had previously received an application of paint protection film which has been removed from everywhere but the mirror covers. Some paint imperfections are noted including three touched-up stone chips on the hood and a quarter-sized paint bubble on the trailing edge of the front bumper. Additionally, the rear bumper was refinished due to minor damage to the left rear side of the vehicle in December 2020, followed by the replacement of the front spoiler and cowl cover due to water damage in September 2021. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with premium Carrera Red Natural Leather upholstery and matching carpet floor mats. Optional features include an electric sunroof, the Premium Package Plus, 18-way Adaptive Sports Seats Plus, the Burmester Sound System, the Light Design Package, and the Sport Chrono Package which adds a stopwatch dial atop the dashboard. A host of driver amenities were also selected, including Power Steering Plus, heated and ventilated front seats, electric folding mirrors, automatically dimming mirrors, a rear window wiper, Porsche Entry & Drive, Porsche Dynamic Light System, and ParkAssist (front & rear). The seller notes minor scuffs and the undersides of the seats have had small leather tears glued and dyed. The CARFAX report shows water damage to have occurred in September of 2021. The seller states they have removed the seats and lifted the carpets, allowing them to dry for several weeks in Texas throughout 2022. The carpet was then disinfected, shampooed with a commercial extractor, and steam cleaned. The seats were dissembled to gain access to all motors for cleaning or replacement as needed, then cleaned with a 6-step process. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly and are said to have been checked by an authorized dealer. The seller adds that there are no dashboard warning lights present.
A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 400 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. This Carrera S features optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) & Sport Suspension, the Sport Exhaust System, and the Sport Chrono Package which provides acceleration from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4 seconds. Stopping power is provided by optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) for superior braking abilities. The seller states regular maintenance items have been performed at Manhattan Motorcars in New York and the transmission fluid was changed in April of 2023. Regarding water damage in September 2021 as shown on the CARFAX report, the seller states they have replaced several electrical items including the Body Control Module (engine communication), Transmission Control Module, Park Assist Module, Alarm Module, and the Burmester amplifier. These modules were under the carpet and could not be repaired, and were therefore replaced with OEM parts. Porsche of Plano, Texas, reportedly reprogrammed the TCM, which allowed the engine to turn on. The engine was then operated for a few seconds to prevent normal pressure build-up. The technicians then replaced the engine oil, transmission fluid, differential oil, and brake fluid. No water is said to have been detected in any of the changed fluids. The oil, air, and cabin filters were replaced as well, and the coolant was tested. Other services included the installation of a new NAPA battery, two upstream O2 sensors, and the replacement of all four heat shields.
This sale will include a branded title, a window sticker, a toolkit, an air pump, and a car cover.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for your interest in this rare Carrera. I restore 911s as a pastime. I go through each car slowly, with an eye for detail. This Carrera S got its seats wet in a NYC garage flood. We went through great pains to ensure that the car runs and drives normally again. Feel free to ask any questions.”

Flood vehicles usually have a musty smell or faint odor. Can you comment on the presence of any unusual or foul odors? Do you use air fresheners in the car to cover any smells?

Can you provide pictures of the PPI? And paperwork from Porsche of Plano?
I can put your mind at ease. I also saw those shots taken at the first auction, after the car had been untouched for several months. All the greenish spots were not from sitting below water, but were the result of mildew growth from September 2021 through March of 2022. No water was above the console. In fact the entire lower elevations of New York City were only covered in less than 18" of water. The first buyer purchased the "enhanced" package from Copart, which included detailed hand cleaning of all leather surfaces. They put it back on the block three weeks later and when I bought the car it was pristine, but the carpets were wet. I found a powdery watermark just below the spark plug opening that indicates the highest point of the water. It's still there and matches perfectly with the fact that the electrics on the rear seat shelf are shiny as new, without me having to clean them. The shop owner who conducted the PPI yesterday said he has never seen such a perfect Porsche. I'll try to take photos of those hidden spots tonight.
When i googled this vin i saw pics from the previous sale of this car and it shows the center console and other higher points covered in water resudue. Do you have any pics from when you bought it before it was cleaned to confirm the water line. I am a serious buyer but these pics i found scare me. Thanks for any input you have on this and thanks for your time.

To give more history on the water level, I have researched the news images of Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in NYC. All five boroughs were flooded with about 12-14" of water at street level. I found the previous owner's address on Berry Street in Brooklyn. That building does not have underground parking; only street-level reserved spots. I have uploaded a picture a few blocks away that shows several cars stopped in water up to the door sills on lower cars and not quite there on SUVs. I think this information gives context to the interior evidence of the water level I found on the car. Since it was a 100-year flood in the city caused by heavy rain, then we can be safe to say the water was fresh, not salt. The flooding occurred overnight in the early morning hours, so I can assume the car was on the street at the owner's building since he worked downtown.

The water line was noted as 17 inches from ground level. That is at the leading edge of the rear seats, or the bolster of the front seats. The guys at Pcarmarket were in NYC at the time of the hurricane. They told me it was accompanied by heavy rains, very similar to earlier this month in New York City. The below-ground garages are prone to flooding if a pump fails. The water that entered this vehicle was definitely fresh water. We found absolutely no sand in the carpet, but there was a residue of very fine silt, as one might expect when water comes into a vehicle. That was completely eradicated during the extensive steam cleaning that was performed on the interior. The good news is the water was below the console, and did not affect the ECU or rear electric relay panel.
September of 2021 was Hurricane Ida. Was the car subjected to Salt, Brackish, or normal salt water? How high did the water get if you were to measure up from the bottom of the tires
I appreciate your concern. The Porsche dealership analyzed the engine performance while running with PWIS software. They found no reason to suspect cylinder scoring. They reported that the compression readings were normal, although they did not provide the readings. No water reached the spark plug openings and the oil was completely clear of any signs of moisture.
Do you have cylinder compression reading and leak down test results?
Or better yet, bore cam photos? Worrying about scouring.
