The flagship model of the 997.2 Carrera lineup, the GTS boasts a specially-tuned 3.8-liter flat-six engine as well as widened bodywork, 19” center-locking wheels, and the Sport Exhaust System. Specified with a 6-speed manual transmission, this 2012 example comes finished in Carrara White over a Black interior with Alcantara Seats. It was also configured with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, clear taillights, Sport Chrono Package Plus, Sport Suspension including a limited-slip differential, a painted center console, seatbelts in Speed Yellow, and more. Upgraded with a Fabspeed exhaust, this GTS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey with approximately 26k miles showing on the odometer.
The GTS model shares its widened fenders with the Carrera 4 and rides on black-painted 19” RS Spyder center-lock wheels borrowed from the 911 Turbo S. Finished in Carrara White, this 2012 example features optional yellow ceramic brakes, bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), and Exclusive clear taillights. The tires show 2016 date codes and the seller notes one minor dent on the roof. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is welcomed by a Black interior with Alcantara Seats as well as a body-color painted center console, seatbelts in Speed Yellow, and a Sport Chrono Package Plus stopwatch dial. A navigation module and a SiriusXM Satellite Radio Tuner were also selected. Other equipment includes a sunroof, an Alcantara headliner, an Alcantara-wrapped SportDesign steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, and door sill guards with model insignias.
With a 23 HP increase over the contemporary Carrera S, the Carrera GTS is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six engine producing 408 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. The optional Sport Suspension, which lowers the ride height by 20mm, enhances handling and includes a limited-slip rear differential. The seller notes that a Fabspeed exhaust was fitted along with Tarett Engineering drop links and a GMG sway bar under prior ownership. Recent service work is said to include the replacement of spark plugs and ignition coils, along with an oil change in August 2023.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a car cover, and a battery charger.
The seller would like you to know: “Christmas present time! Dream car alert! I hunted for this one for a while, and it is still the only one with PCCBs I’ve ever seen for sale. The 997.2 was the first time the GTS moniker came to the flagship 911, and after this model it stuck and has now become ubiquitous giving this car a very special place in Porsche history. Only 1,650 997.2 GTS were made for North America. Only 625 of those were manuals. And only 276 of those were US Manual coupes. Of the 1650, only 41 were spec’d with PCCBs meaning this is a very rare car indeed. Let alone the matching seat belts…might be a true 1 of 1, though I can’t find data on the seatbelt spec. I need the garage space for an upcoming project, or I’d be tempted to keep this scalpel forever in my collection. My loss is your gain .. someone will have a very merry Christmas ahead of them!”

I have a 2012 gts 4 I bought last summer w 39k miles for 133,500. Love to see this price climbing and it’s the best 911 driver I’ve had over the last 20 years. For many reasons I hope one of these bidders finds out soon.

@Jagged155 prior owner fitted a Fabspeed exhaust was along with a GMG sway barand Tarett Engineering drop links. Car is very dialed in, and I only drive my sports cars in the summer, so I appreciate the sticky rubber! But agreed, to each their own on that front, all of that is easily modified or reverted to stock.
Is the OEM rear sway bar blue? Picture 101. @seller Do you know if there has been any prior suspension work done? Aggressive tires for a GTS.
Good spec, especially with PCCM. Some maintenance looks in order to bring it up to a good standard. I assume new tires, paint correction and ding removal, clean up of under carriage, and some seat repair work. All easy to do, but will cost money. Once done, however, it should be a wonderful driver.

Just submitted paint meter photos! First time doing that, so hopefully I did it correctly. Of note, front fenders, hood and bumper have PPF so read higher (though consistent). Front and rear bumpers I couldn’t get to read for whatever reason, thinking these things work only on metal panels?

@tmerrrr maybe they were using an early versions of Google’s Gemini to state car colors 🤣
@Wooz for sure. I tried to get into my shop this weekend for paint meter and underside photos, but guess they’re closed for the holiday season. I ordered a paint meter from Amazon, should get here tomorrow and will post pictures (front fenders, hood and bumper will read high due to the PPF) .. for whatever it’s worth, car was white from the factory, white when I got it and still is white .. NJ MVC calling it black is sadly not very surprising having spent far too much time in them over the years, LOL
@tmerrrr A number of comments request a paint meter given NJ stating black. Oh Jersey, so typical.
Could we kindly get paint meter pics?
Thanks!
@waizone hey there, I do not have the stock components as work was done prior to my time. Converting this 100% back to stock would be pretty straight forward and take less than a day of shop time. I’m a fan of how it sounds and how it drives, but can be easily changed to suit by the new owner.
Grand Prix is gunna be all over this one
Is the original exhaust available with the car?

@bphillyer oh, one thing to add though .. definitely no leaks. Not a drop noted on my garage floor in my 18 months of ownership.
@bphillyer Thanks! On the owners, if I recall correctly, the guy before me was both 'owner 3 and owner 4', but he had moved with the car from CA to Texas. On the liens, looks like it's all that same guy (title is definitely in hand on this end..) 4 owners in 12 years doesn't strike me as all that much, but I guess we all have our personal preferences in that regard.
I don't have a lift at my ready disposal, and would prefer not to take the car apart myself .. having it in one piece for the new owner is a priority over here! :-) That said, I'll check with my local shop to see if he has any time to do so though. Maybe he can get some photos with a paint meter while he is at it ... will revert, but probably won't be until over the weekend given my work schedule.
@tmerrrr Any chance we can get her up on a lift for some close-ups of undercarriage with panels removed? I see you have a few in the gallery, and in the inspection report. Thank you. A car of this quality would definitely benefit from a few good close-ups of underside, struts, brakes, possibility of oil leaks (or not), door-hinges and frunk, with as much carpet and panels removed as possible. Thank you.
This is a beauty. Checks all the boxes. Any thoughts on multi-ownership? Sometimes a lot of people just want to get into their dream car but can’t make the payments...I see a lot of liens on Carfax, which kinda explains everything and works in your favor @tmerrrr

Great car and spec. I have a highly modified 997 GTS manual coupe. Terrific driver's car and ultimate Goldilocks 911 for canyon carving/all-arounder. Agreed this will fetch all the dollars and deservedly so with driver-focused options/mods: LSD, SPASM, exhaust and suspension. I'm a contrarian and find PCCBs highly desirable. Basically lifetime rotors, no brake dust, and superior braking (onced warmed up). Yes, the rotors are expensive to replace but unless you are careless when doing maintenance, the chances are slim you will damage them and need to replace the rotors. The only thing I'd change is replace the CLs with 5 lugs. But like I said, I'm a contrarian. If you are in the market for a GTS, this is the one to have! Looking forward to seeing the results of this auction.
@Retro2345 Yes, if you look at the service from August 2023, you’ll see these parts were replaced. The check engine light which was tripped by the coil packs was rectified, but my guess is since the work was done by my Indy mechanic here in town that he couldn’t clear the ‘permanent’ code. Give Paul Miller is 100 miles or so round trip from here, it didn’t feel like a required expense of mileage for that level of work.
Will look into a paint meter, I don’t have one at my ready disposal though.
Hello, in the inspection report it said they found 2 codes ? Also how do we know the car was not painted? Do you have paint meter ?
@List-Renn ah, good call. I was thinking about having to break out the scanner .. that'll make it much easier. Will post this evening!
Lovely example.
I own one with identical mileage with steel brakes and PASM, not SPASM.
Besides brake dust, mitigated with ceramic coated black wheels, the steelies are a better option for future rotor replacement and/or track usage.
Big RL forum debate on the best suspension on a GTS, but the ride height is more pleasing on the shorter springs.
I am also curious as to the former owner's maintenance record history..
Take pictures of them and simply redact the personal information blocks using mark up on an iPhone or the equivalent on an Android. Easy peasy, not a PITA at all.
This one should bring all the bucks.
Good time to be selling a 6MT RWD low-mileage, well-sorted, no stories 997 GTS Coupe (or Cab).
You don't need to be wished GLWA!
Bid in the amount of $75,000
@DesertGTS Thanks for the comments! Agreed, it's a wonderful car. If I had the space I'd probably never sell it.
@cheungms * Yes, on the 15 months. We moved in July and it hasn't been run much since, sadly.
* Car is white, always has been white .. not sure why the NJ DMV marked it as Black .. that is odd.
I have an almost identical Platinum Silver example with 2 exceptions. PCCB is aggressive but an expensive service proposition. However, the biggest plus on this one is the Sport Suspension/ limited slip option. Should have been standard… but it wasn’t! And I wish I had it. If you’re planning on driving this (as you should) THIS is the one you want as it is the only one I can recall being sold with this option.
Also, I see the vehicle is listed as black in the CarFax but originally white - is the vehicle wrapped?
Am I reading correctly it has been 15 months since the last service on this vehicle? Thanks

Hi there! To your questions:
* I have the report from the prior seller. I have only put 500 miles on it and know there haven't been any overrevs in my ownership. I'll post what I have.
* When I get home can lay them out and post the individual pictures, just a bit of a pita as have to blank out the personal details on each
* haven't metered the car, have no reason to believe there has been any body work completed. All panel gaps look good and paint color is consistent
* mods were performed by prior owners, though they are probably exactly what I would've done to dial it in :-)
@seller PIWIS report showing over revs? Can individual records from Pic 127 been posted for each RO? Has the car been metered? Where the mods performed under your ownership?

Hey everybody! Hope you’re all doing well and welcome. I’ll be around all week to answer any questions as they arise. Best of luck!
