The pinnacle of the 997 Carrera model range, the GTS version offered wider bodywork than the standard Carrera S along with a more powerful 3.8-liter engine, a sport exhaust system and 19” RS Spyder center-lock wheels. This 2012 example is finished in Macadamia Metallic over an Espresso Natural Leather interior and features optional Adaptive Sport Seats, Sports Suspension, BOSE Surround Sound System, silver-painted wheels, and a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. It was purchased by the current owner in 2018 with under 20k miles and has been driven sparingly in the summer months while kept in climate-controlled storage. Showing just over 23k miles on the odometer, this GTS is now being offered for auction out of Wisconsin.
Measuring 44mm wider at the rear than a standard Carrera, the GTS also includes a SportDesign front bumper, a front lip spoiler, black side skirts, and a black rear valence with quad sport exhaust tips. This Coupe is finished in Macadamia Metallic and was optioned with silver-painted 19” RS Spyder center-lock wheels. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlamps, LED taillights and daytime running lights, fog lights, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and an electric sunroof. The seller notes one of the black exhaust tip covers is missing, some imperfections can be seen on the driver's side rear wheel, and a scratch is present on the rear driver’s side bumperette. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this GTS features Espresso Natural Leather upholstery including Adaptive Sport Seats with Driver Memory and a matching Alcantara headliner. Accessories include a three-spoke SportDesign steering wheel, door sill guards with model insignias, automatic climate control, cruise control, Porsche Communication Management (PCM), and the optional BOSE Surround Sound System.
Producing 23 HP more than a contemporary Carrera S, the Carrera GTS features a 3.8-liter flat-six engine rated at 408 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission with an optional limited-slip differential. A sport exhaust system comes standard and an optional PASM Sport Suspension is equipped that provides a 20mm lower ride height and firmer handling.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.

@OSI Correct, a total of 276 manual GTS coupes to the USA. So likely there are around 3 in this color.
Bid in the amount of $105,500
@overtonautomotive
That is precisely my point so therefore a lot less for manual coupes and even less when you delineate Carrera 4 versus Carrera 2. Rare car indeed. I have a 12gts or else I'd be in.
Now less than 30 mins! I'm here to answer questions if needed. Happy bidding everyone, looks like we have several bidders on this car.
@OSI total production, coupes and cabs. Only 1500 US and 150 for Canada. Last image in the photos.

Just to be clear on your statistics; do this numbers include convertibles or are they only for coupes in manual

Hour hours left. Just added the Production Data sheet from Rennlist. Not sure the accuracy of this sheet, but it's been going around for a while. This shows only 11 (1%) GTS Cars were Macadamia Metallic, and only 38% of the entire production were manual transmissions. This is certainly a rare one. Natural Leather in Espresso was in a total of 18 out of 1650 cars to North America.

What a unique and stunning GTS manual. The all leather interior is wonderful. This car is special. I own a 997.2 (12) in white. It is common, although less so in manual. This? Wowza!

@AHudson777 thanks for the clarification and verification
@OvertonAutomotive I've had my GTS for 3 years and the slight indentations in the front bumper near the headlights have always been there on my car. I've had the front bumper off at least 3 times by my local Porsche tech. He was the head tech at Champion in FL, Bend Porsche, and now has his own independent shop and has worked on hundreds of 997s. According to him, this is a common "feature" in 997 bumpers and nothing to be concerned with, other than the aesthetic look. If it's not your thing, don't buy it. GLWTA!
@OvertonAutomotive @OvertonAutomotive, @NA2, sorry to have given any hint of disclarity.
Overton is exactly right: I sold to a dealer who sold it to current owner in the exact date ranges as I and Overton stated. The current owner is the only end-user since I sold the car 6+ years ago. Appears to be a clean and clear chain of ownership.
Best wishes.
@NA2 - It does show on the carfax as he said. AHudson says he is the previous owner, not the current. He sold it to CCS motors who then sold it to the current owner. AHudson would have purchased the car in December 2017 and sold it in April 2018. Current owner purchased the car in July of 2018.
@OvertonAutomotive thank you. I'm still unclear based on AHudson's statement that he sold the car. Did he sell it to your client? It doesn't look like a change in ownership is reflected on the carfax. thanks again.
Stunning!
@NA2 This is owned by a private individual in Wisconsin, I am listing this for him and handling all questions. I will put the winning bidder in contact with the owner after the auction is over and I will help them get everything finished up at that time.
@AHudson777 @Overtonautomotive I am unclear on who actually owns the car and who is in possession of it right now. AHudson says he sold it to PCar-connected dealer. Overton says he is assisting his client with the sale. Thanks in advance.
I'm a previous owner of this car when it was in Alabama. I'd purchased from Brian Harris Porsche in Louisiana just before Christmas in 2017/2018. At that time it had around 16k miles if memory serves. It had equally been sold initially from Brumos as I recalled the sticker in the right front windshield.
I'd actually purchased two GTS' at the same general time to see if I could live with PDK on the other. Turns out it was more useful to me than another manual shift car (of which there were others lying around) so this car got sold to a dealer who was connected with PCar Market.
This car was spotless then and appears so now. I'm a bit OCD, so the 'dimple' was not present then, though it might've been on its way. I subsequently owned a 997.2tt and in removing the front bumper cover to install radiator grills, I could see how the attachment points on the back side of the urethane could allow this area to pull/warp/misshape to cause this. I'm certain an enterprising person could reinforce by adhering dense foam or other to eliminate this.
This car was nicely equipped also, especially the sport seats in upgraded leather. The center locks look fantastic (though they make me mildly nervous). And the color. Man oh man does it light up outside! You can see micro fine flecks of oranges and gold in that paint and it is really special. With all this going on, I assure you I didn't miss Sports Chrono.
I hope the new owner enjoys this car as it was a joy to me. Best to all.
Owner spent some time going over the front bumper. He said after he put his hands on the bumper he can feel a slight indentation, so there is a little there. We think the camera is exaggerating what it looks like. He's going to try to get it outside and take some more close ups during the day to try and accurately show it off. Will update tomorrow afternoon.
The bill of sale will be from the private owner. I will not handle registration or sales tax that might be due. Anyone who purchases this car will have to pay their sales tax and registration in their state when they register the vehicle.
@cvalue13 I totally agree with you; I have a 2012 GTS manual with Sport Chrono; both the "Sport" button and the "Suspension" button for PASM have a significant effect on performance and handling of the car. I bought it with 12k miles, and I've applied them in a variety of conditions over the 30k miles I've added. I also have no imperfections on my front bumper, and I've had Arizona heat exposure on an AZ originating car.
Bid in the amount of $87,500
@Bruno911 Yep, can be added aftermarket - or instead do custom tune to not just activate a “sport” mode permanently, but also increase available power output.
But context here is a vehicle for sale, and a Seller suggesting that the lack of sport chrono entailed only a missing dash clock that some people don’t like anyway.
But plenty of potential buyers familiar with MT 997.2s feel throttle mapping and PSM adjustments provided by sport are a desirable feature, that to replicate with aftermarket solutions entails $ and mods from stock config.
The intended point was no more/less than that.
Some reasonably feel that a more linear throttle map, and fewer nannies at speed, are desirable stock configurations. No more ‘psychological’ than short-throw shifters (eg heel-toe requires 1/2 the input, etc.).
It does not undermine the uniqueness or overall impressiveness of this GTS - but not having sport chrono is a unique config in a GTS, worth noting beyond just “doesn’t have dash clock.”’
@cvalue13 all I’m saying is the main benefit of the sport button is purely psychological. The car feels more responsive because the throttle valve is being opened more for any given amount of the first half of gas pedal travel. Around 50% they start to converge again and by 100% both result in the throttle fully opened. Your right foot can control the throttle body exactly the same way, except your brain tells you I’m giving it more gas to get the same response. In sport mode, the car has not become more responsive, it just feels that way because the ECU is giving it more gas than you asked for with your foot. Turning on PASM and Sport Exhaust can be accomplished with the separate buttons instead all at once using Sport. The higher PSM threshold I could never feel. Car still intervenes. If you want to drive with less nanny’s, turn PSM off using the third button.
Again, if you need Sport, it can be added and programmed by any dealer. The mapping is already in the ECU. It just needs to be activated and have the switch added so you can turn it on or off.
@OSI Thanks for the clarification. It makes sense that this slight deformity could be caused by heat from extended sun exposure. That part of the bumper is unsupported, so slight warping from heat cycling is completely plausible and the fact that this appears to affect darker color cars more would support that theory.
That interior color is gorgeous!
@Bruno911 Ask 100 manual CS owners if they never push ‘sport’ because it “does nothing” for the driving experience/performance. I’ll wait.
It’s the EMS that not only adjusts throttle response, but also widens the opening of the throttle valve, initiates a hard rev limiter in the higher gears, and raises the trigger threshold for PSM.
If my use of the term “engine dynamics” seemed too general for you, or you’re just feeling ungenerous in interpretation, take it up also with Porsche (quote from 997.2 release/config manual below).
“When the SPORT button on the centre console is selected, the EMS SDI 3.1 engine management system enhances the engine response. A modified throttle map relates the pedal angle in the footwell to a much wider angle of opening on the throttle valve. Throttle response is significantly more immediate, and in the higher gears, a hard rev-limiter helps protect the engine under acceleration. … In ‘Sport’ mode, the trigger threshold for PSM is raised for increased longitudinal and lateral dynamics. Agility is enhanced under braking for corners with PSM enabling greater maneuverability under braking and exit acceleration, especially at low speeds.“
Sport may “do more” in a PDK, but to take seller’s tact of acting like manual 997.2 owners find no use in it beyond the chrono is … false.
This is a spectacular car! Absolutely love seeing it on PCarmarket.
If I didn't take delivery of a gorgeous Aerokit back in December, I think this would have been a top contender. Good luck seller / buyer!
@bruno911 I appologise for not being clear. On my 2012 GTS I saw the 2 identical dimples to this one here and wanted them fixed while I was painting the bumper from rock chips etc. In that process the body shop told me that when they had it out it looked normal but when they remounted it back on they reappeared again and they attributed it to the mounting bolts regardless of where they bolt to. I wasn't there but now that I think about it, I think they're wrong. I have since researches as my other 2012 4s and 2011 turbo have similar ones but not deep. Here is what I found from reading several blogs on line with this issue: It seems that mostly they are 997.2 and most all which have these dimples are dark colored cars. Mine are blk dark blue and macadamia which is consistent with most of the ones I've seen as far as dark colors. Bottom line is the heat does that on some.
It sure seems as though Porsche missed something here but when you go on line you see lots of these issues discussed. Interestingly my light colored SILVER 997 does not have it. So it seems that you get them on the 997.2 more and on dark colored cars maybe in warmer climate also. At least this is my experience.
Love to know more btw if anyone cares to share. Hope this clarifies my original general post!👍
@OvertonAutomotive Amazon sells a few decent ones for under $100. Seller can have it delivered from Amazon before auction end and I’m sure verification of original paint will bring stronger bids.
@FawsittMotors - the owner doesn't have one and his mechanic doesn't have one. It would be highly unlikely that this car has had any paintwork. Both the carfax and the autocheck are clean.
Hi John,
Fabulous GTS! Can we anticipate Paint Meter Readings on the metal panels?
Best,
Joseph Fawsitt

@Bruno911 - I've not seen it much, but I have seen it. I saw it on a Black GTS on Facebook last night. Both sides, very similarly look to this car. Again, the owner states these are not dents and there are no noticeable dents on the car.
@farcar - I didn't say no PPI, I just said I don't think we can get one scheduled. Call any shop you want within 30 mins of the location and schedule it and I'll get the car there. I've just uploaded the DME and the underneath photos. I don't have pictures of the shocks, sorry. The indentation has been addressed several times and the owner has adamantly stated that there are no dents on this car. If it's not the car for you, I'm sorry, but this is a great 911 GTS and there are very few of them in this color combo, plenty of people have been showing interest on and off this site already.
@OSI could you clarify your comments about the bumper dent? There are no mounting bolts for the bumper anywhere near that location. The closest things are the mounting tabs that attach to the edge of the fender between the headlight and the hood, but those pull the pumper in against the fender, not down which could cause the dent. I’m perplexed by what is causing this dent. I’ve also not seen this on any 997, including the one sitting in my garage.
@cvalue13 the sport button on the GTS does nothing other than change the mapping of the gas pedal to the throttle body. It does not change any aspect of engine dynamics, such as timing or valve lift. It also doesn’t change anything on the transmission since this is a manual. Sport Chrono has a larger benefit on PDK cars and Turbos, since it affects actual performance. On this car, having sport Chrono would add nothing other than a more sensitive gas pedal. It’s next to worthless unless you want the dash clock.
PS. Sport Chrono software and button can be added by a dealer if you want the two gas pedal mappings.
Regarding no Sport Chrono Package:
The clock/dash wart was not the selling point, nor is it the extent of the package offering.
This GTS has no sport performance button for engine/transmission dynamics. (But, because it’s a GTS, still has a sport suspension and sport exhaust button).
In other words, it’s a GTS (with its base upgrade in hp/performance), but also without the sport performance button/functionality.
The associated lack of clock/dash wart is true, but alone not the overall point.
Ok. I understand its not your fault as you do not have the car with you but It will be difficult for individual buyers to bid on this given:
1. No ability to do PPI;
2. No service records;
3. Bumper indentation;
4. No DME report (though that may be resolved before auction end);
5. no undercarriage photos to check for leaks / oil stains, state of shocks, etc.
@farcar - we do not have previous service history of this car and the only thing he has done is oil changes since 2018.
Can you please upload the service history
Bid in the amount of $81,000
The listing has been updated to reflect that this vehicle is not equipped with the Sport Chrono Package.
Bid in the amount of $80,000
Current owner has owned the car since 2018 and it has been stored in a climate controlled garage. He reiterated to me that it is in fantastic shape except for the few blemishes that we disclosed in the auction listing from the start. Nothing to hide here. Getting underside photos and some more info tomorrow.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
New photos in the garage added. Owner assured me that there is no actual dent in the bumper, just the way the light is hitting the bumper cover is exaggerated by the camera. There is a faint outline there on both sides. Should be nothing abnormal.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Great addition to collection. Lovely color
@DoveMtnMotors - agree on the carfax, but with autocheck matching the carfax I don't have much worry about it. He's working on getting the DME.
@OvertonAutomotive- I guess you are right about paint meter readings on plastic. It's a shame there is no satisfactory answer regarding the large indentations. Also a bit disappointing that the seller did not anticipate that a DME report and undercarriage photos would be requested. Carfax reports are so inaccurate as to be mostly useless in my opinion.
@DoveMtnMotors - will attempt to get a paint meter to the owner to measure, but I've never been able to get a paint meter to read a plastic bumper. If you have a trick for that, please do share. Car has no known paintwork, clean carfax and autocheck.
The indentations may not be severe but they certainly are not normal. Can we get some paint meter readings to see whether the bumper cover has been removed for paintwork?
Maybe it's "acceptable"?
I disagree.
I have no such imperfection on my '12 997.2 TTM.
And I have never seen this anywhere else.
If I had a car with gap lines that didn't line up. I would question why.
If I had a car where panels had been "pulled in" by fixings. I would question why.
Certainly you wouldn't have seen it like this from factory.
So I'm asking the question, as difficult as it may be.
Or there could be a good reason - like it's been fitted back incorrectly. Or old fixings were replaced with non OEM ones.
Let's see.
Thank you.
Regarding this indentation, if I may add this: Almost all of the 997 and .2 have these. It's where the bolt hold down the bumper. I have removed mine (also a 2012 gts ) and have attempted to correct it but is is not that easy. Apparently in time with tem changes it does that. Totally normal. I have seen very few examples without that dip. I have 3 997.2 911s and all have it.Hope this helps.
@KvN - I wouldn't call it severe, and happy for anyone who wants to come out and see in person to do so. Will attempt to get more photos. That area looks the same from the 2018 pictures at CCS Motors, so it isn't something that's been done by the current owner. Possibly the bumper was pulled off to do a radiator cleaning and it wasn't set back on there correctly. I do believe the camera is picking up a lot of reflection and that has exaggerated it a bit. If you look at picture 37 it is on the right side and not the left. If you look at picture 38 it appears to be both sides evenly. Other pictures it is just the right side. That's why I feel like this is a bit of distortion from the camera more than it is something you'll see up close.
What a lovely example!
Unfortunately it looks to have a severe imperfection in the front bumper cover.
As viewed from *outside looking back* at the front of the car: high up and to the left of the right light you will see an apparent indentation the size of a side plate.
Pic 45 & pic 88.
Thank you.
This could be incorrect attachment of the bumper cover or it could be a missing connector or it could be something else.
Thank you.
I can remember selling this as a CPO at Brumos. The color combo is delicious.
Bid in the amount of $77,777
@farcar - really no chance to do a bore scope or inspect the suspension since I don't have the car here with me. That's really something we would need to get an expensive PPI to do, and I'm just not sure it could be done before next Friday. Most dealerships are several weeks out for appointments. If I had the car here with me I would absolutely be able to get pictures of the underside and a cold start video, I have requested this from the owner along with the DME, but it may be during the week before I can get and get it posted. The video of the car posted above is the car starting up right out of the garage. It hasn't been driven long enough to warm up before this was filmed.
@997.TWOS unfortunately the car is not here with me. It is with my client, so I'm limited on being able to figure out exactly what some things are. I will do my best to keep in contact with him for quick answers. The bumper I would believe is just the reflection. I can't verify this, but the owner said there are no dents on the car. This car was previously sold by CCS Motors and the same reflection can be seen on their website photos.
Given no ppi any chance to get bore score test results? Can we get pictures of the underside? What's the condition of the shocks? Also a cold start video would help.
The car does look gorgeous! Thanks for patiently answering all the questions
@OvertonAutomotive do you know the reason for what appears to be a dent in the front bumper cover just forward and slightly inboard of the left headlight?
@DoveMtnMotors no PPF, but also very little markings on the front bumper. The current owner has only put about 3400 miles on the car since 2018. Date codes are 0316 rear and 1816 front, plenty of tread, but out of date. Would recommend new tires go on it after purchase.
@farcar working on getting the DME readout. I'm not sure that a PPI could be scheduled and done by the end of the auction.
@Yugofirst the first 911 to offer center locks as an option was the 2009 911 Turbo. The GTS was the first one to have them standard.
Do you have the DME report? Can we get a PPI done?
Was this the first iteration of the 911 to be offered with center lock wheels?
Beautiful car. Is there any PPF on the nose? What are the date codes on the tires?
@OSI according to the information I have found on Rennlist - 276 manual GTS Coupes to the US, 35 to Canada. 95 manual 4 GTS Coupes to the US, 22 to Canada.
Beautiful!
Statistics are not clear to me. 311 manual coupes ! but how many were 4s vs 2s manual coupes for 2012. Anyone know more than what's available on line?
@1falco - Confirming with the owner, but Vinanalytics shows a 10/2011 production month.
@Collierdjc - Correct, no sport chrono. Not sure why that's in the listing, it is not on the options list. Working on getting it corrected in the listing. Back in the 997 ordering days, the sport chrono clock wasn't loved by everyone like it is now. It's on 92% of GTS cars, but some people hated the clock on the dash and called it a dash wart.
- Confirming with the owner, but Vinanalytics shows a 10/2011 production month.
This doesn’t appear to have sports chrono as listed. Odd that it was not ordered
Bid in the amount of $75,997
The car is truly stunning. May I have the manufacture date on the door.
Thanks
Absolutely stunning car. As an owner of a '12 C4S with heated and cooled seats, I can confirm that this option was indeed offered, just not on the adaptive sport seats this car has.
Bid in the amount of $59,972
I have the same in black and this color is way better. Good luck! I'm curious if you'll get over $125,000. I hope so.
@mikecib no heated or cooled seat option on this car.
Hi. Beautiful car. Does it have the ventilated seat option, or just heated? Thx.
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!
I believe there were only 11 cars built out of 1650 that were Macadamia Metallic for North America. Overall production numbers show only 311 of the 1650 were GTS manual transmission coupes.
Now LIVE! Questions welcomed. Working on getting a DME overrev report, but as of right now we do not have one. Helping my private client sell this car out of the Milwaukee area. Happy bidding on this rare color combo!
