Equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine and a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission, this 2012 Porsche 997.2 Carrera 4 GTS Coupe is finished in Platinum Silver Metallic over a Black leather interior. The car was factory-optioned with heated and ventilated 12-way power seats, Porsche-crested headrests, Bose Surround Sound System, carbon fiber door entry guards, a leather shifter surround, auto-dimming mirrors, and bi-xenon headlights with PDLS. Under previous ownership, SP Motorsports was commissioned to install extensive upgrades including GT3 front and GT3 RS rear bumper covers, a GT3 center radiator conversion, Tarrett GT3 sway bars, GT3 center-lock wheels, Motion Control adjustable coilovers, an Akrapovic center-exit muffler, COBB Tuning Accessport, a KW Nose Lift Kit, and red seatbelts. The car was purchased by the seller in 2023 and has since received a ceramic coating, a Rennline V2 auto headlight module, Rennline brake caliper studs, stainless-steel brake lines, Powergrid C4 adjustable front sway bar end links, and XPEL window tint. Showing approximately 54k miles on the odometer, this tastefully upgraded GTS is now being offered for auction out of Florida.

Finished in Platinum Silver Metallic, this Carrera 4 GTS Coupe was modified under previous ownership with a GT3 front bumper cover, a GT3 RS rear bumper cover, red lower mirror trim accents, 911R-style Porsche script side stripes, and full exterior paint protection film. A KW HLS Nose Lift Kit was also installed with a trunk-mounted pump. Under the seller’s ownership, new XPEL paint protection film was added to the front bumper, hood, mirror caps, and headlights, and XPEL Prime XR window tint was installed with 70% on the windshield and 30% on the side and rear windows. The full exterior was also treated with Feynlab ceramic coating. The car was fitted with black-painted 19” GT3 center-lock wheels under previous ownership and new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rear tires were installed by the current owner. The front tires show production date codes from 2016. An additional set of 19” OZ Racing Ultraleggera HLT center-lock wheels is included in the sale. The seller notes some minor paint chips around the exterior, some damaged PPF on the passenger side mirror and rear wheel arch, and a blemish beneath the PPF on the driver’s side rocker panel. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black leather interior came factory-equipped with optional heated and ventilated 12-way power seats, Porsche crest-embossed headrests, a three-spoke SportDesign steering wheel, auto-dimming mirrors, the Bose Surround Sound System, carbon fiber door entry guards, and a PDK gear selector gate in leather. The previous owner installed red seatbelts and a Pioneer double-din head unit. Under the seller’s ownership, the bi-xenon PDLS headlights were paired with a Rennline V2 auto headlamp kit. Noted imperfections include signs of wear on the leather gear selector trim, driver’s right seat bolster, driver’s door pull, passenger door handle, center console lid, and handbrake cover. The seller notes the Porshe Active Suspension Management (PASM) system has been disabled, although the button remains installed on the center console.

Factory-rated at 402 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine drives all four wheels through a dual-clutch 7-speed PDK transmission. The engine was modified with a Cobb Tuning Accessport and a GT3 center radiator conversion by the previous owner. An Akrapovic center-exit muffler was installed and the side muffler was eliminated, although the exhaust retains the factory PSE actuators. The suspension features Motion Control 1WNR adjustable coilovers with swift 350/450 springs, Tarrett sway bars and rear end links, and adjustable Powergrid C4 front end links. The current owner installed Rennline brake caliper studs, Goodridge braided stainless-steel brake lines, a Rennline brake line bracket and stud kit, new brake rotors, and Brembo NAO ceramic brake pads. Service under current ownership included oil and filter changes, a coolant and brake fluid flush, new PDK transmission and clutch fluid, and new front differential fluid. A set of aftermarket BMC air filters is included in the sale.

This sale will include a clean title, an additional set of OZ Racing wheels, BMC air filters, a COBB Tuning Accessport, service records, owner’s manuals, and the following items:

  • Stomski Racing Symmetrical Semi-solid Motor Mount
  • Genuine Porsche manual shifter trim
  • JF Customs black leather/red thread manual shift boot
  • JF Customs black leather center console side trim covers JF Customs black leather sun visor covers
  • Powerflex PDK gearbox mount
  • Powerflex rear top mount isolator bushing
  • Various MCS/Swift parts to rebuild coilovers (thrust bearings/sheets, locking rings, adjuster knobs, spring couplers)

The seller would like you to know: “It's been a dream of mine (probably like many of you) to own and drive a Porsche. Having this car has been amazing - my life's focus has shifted majorly in the last 2 months and the car has been doing more sitting than moving, and that's not how a Porsche should be treated in my opinion so it's time to move this car to its next owner. As I hope you can tell by the amount of included hardware I had planned to update/refresh everything that has worn and keep this car for a long time. Happy bidding and good luck!”

@Biniba the ones I took at loaded. Any additional ones would from when I purchased the vehicle. You can see them on the other site if you search the VIN.

I have them all from the previous owner, and many if not all from the owner before him too.

Is there anything in particular you’d like to see better? I will try to find a good picture of it in those files or potentially take a new one if i can swing it. Like I said further down the chat, my quick jacks don’t go high enough to get under the car and take a broad view picture. The ones currently in the gallery show all the important bits, the only sections I didn’t really bother with was the central area of the vehicle which is all covered by the underbody panels.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 2 weeks, 6 daysago

@Biniba it has the Stage 1 93oct tune from Cobb. They say ~6% HP peak and ~8% HP max. So ~435 HP, theoretically. I did not have a custom map or dyno tuning done.

The 4GTS dyno curves are shown at the bottom of this page:

Some additional information for everyone And for whatever it’s worth.

The work done by SP Motorsports appears, based on the dates on the receipts and the Carfax data, to have happened at around 36,3xx miles. So approximately 21K miles ago.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 2 weeks, 6 daysago

@chillimd also the brake R&R was solely to address annoying brake dust and rotor hat corrosion. The pads and rotors were well in spec. And the brake line swap to braided was another “while I’m in there” and just because.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 2 weeks, 6 daysago

@chillimd it’s all pictured the gallery but spark plugs, serpentine belt, motor mounts, strut mounts front rear and the front strut mount bearing. Motor mounts are a “just because,” same with PDK mount insert and strut mounts. Refreshing the coilovers was a “because I’m in there” thing with the front strut bearings. There’s a slight binding noise/pop at high steering angle, low speed turns aka when I back out of my driveway. It’s easily addressed with some directly lubrication. It’s not a CV joint or other suspension bushings, spent a lot of time with the Steelman Chassis ears to pin point the source. It’s an intermittent sound.

  • chillimd (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 6 daysago

Curious as to what routine maintenance items you were planning before deciding to sell. Seems like you're very proactive as I am. I sold my last 997.1 turbo with all the parts I accumulated as was about to utilize when the opportunity to buy another car came up.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 2 weeks, 6 daysago

Driving videos are uploaded. The first is cruising inside the car at cold, warm, hard braking, and after the drive by videos in the second one - the exhaust valves are open and closed depending on the video which you can see when I pan to the center console. For the drive bys, the exhaust valves are open on the first pass (from right to left) and closed on the second (from left to right).

Im a big fan of Driven Racing Oil products. According to Lake Speed Jr, the oil additive guru, they are the best fluids available.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 2 weeks, 6 daysago

Oil change kit from FCP Euro — 5W/40 Leichtlauf High Tech

PDK fluid was DRIVEN RACING OIL 04606, DCT (3+ bottles will come with the car, bought enough to do a full refill if I dropped the pan)

F-R diffs were Driven Racing Oil 04230 75W-90

  • ndotmoss (seller) 2 weeks, 6 daysago

@ndotmoss @chillimd driver front AXLE rebuild was Aug 2018

  • ndotmoss (seller) 2 weeks, 6 daysago

@chillimd I will dig them out and post pictures. They’re currently boxed up without tires on them. Per the records I have the axles and control arms are original - except driver front which was rebuilt by SP Motorsports in Aug 2018.

Water pump was R&R by SP motor sports in Oct 2018.
Oil Separator was R&R by Bavarian Auto Restoration in April 2021.
On 6/30/24 @ 53771 miles I performed an oil change, PDK clutch fluid change, front fluid change, rear differential/gear box fluid change.

  • chillimd (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 6 daysago

Any pics of the other wheels included in the sale? Also, have the axles or control arms been replaced and has the pdk and front diff been serviced yet? Thanks.

@ndotmoss - the only way that I can see the "CONTACT SELLER" button is if I am logged out, but once I click it, I am asked to log in... and when I do, I cannot see that button anymore. It wants to force us to log in and have our convo via this comment section. I don't blame you. I don't want to share my contact info either. I will be at the Starbucks off Wickham Rd @ 0800 tomorrow. Just let me know if that will work.

If the car "handles like it's on rails" as you stated, why were you thinking of going with Bilstein Damptronic coilovers and DSC module?

  • G-Dub 3 weeks, 1 dayago

Bid in the amount of $25,000

  • ETXRAY (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 1 dayago

    Hello again,

These were the seats in the car when I purchased it. I think the carbon buckets were pulled out right before I bought it.

As the seller stated the SP motorsports bill was over $60k and didn’t include the center locks. Those were added later. All the right stuff here.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 3 weeks, 1 dayago

@1974Bronco FWIW the receipts from SP motorsports (and the total I reference below) do NOT include the carbon buckets, just seat R&R labor so they may have been in Mr Lee’s possession before the build and maybe stayed with him before he sold it. Given how much a pair of those are going for nowadays, I can’t say I blame him or whomever took them out.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 3 weeks, 1 dayago

@1974Bronco probably so, the vehicle wiring still remains, but the module is not in the passenger footwell any longer and the MCS coilovers will need to swapped out. I was leaning towards purchasing the DSC system and Bilstein Damptronic coilovers.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 3 weeks, 1 dayago

@1974Bronco not sure, but they were not installed when I bought it. Nor were they when the owner before me purchased it.

  • 1974Bronco (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 1 dayago

Just looked at the links below. Don’t know if this has been addressed but where are the GT 3 seat. Big, big difference and change to the purpose built idea.

  • 1974Bronco (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 1 dayago

Well stated by the seller. Over the years I’ve ended up with both original and modified, there’s a place for all.
This one sure has gt3 written all over it.
Also can the PASM BE HOOKED BACK UP or is that something to do with lift?

  • ndotmoss (seller) 3 weeks, 2 daysago

@1974Bronco it’s a polarizing topic really, of course I’m perfectly fine with modifications. In fact, the modifications and how they were done were what drew me to the car originally. Given my incredibly unlikely ability to ever be able to afford a 997.2 GT3 or GT3RS, this car was the next best thing. It has all the OE body features of the GT cars (minus the aero wing), as they are genuine Porsche parts, it is plenty fast for all the driving I’ll ever do and handles like it’s on rails.

As a point of reference - the SP Motorsports receipts for this build are north of $63,000. I’m not sure how much the car was purchased for back in 2018, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this vehicle plus the mods cost more than a pure 997.2 GT3 back then.

On the other hand many will think this car is blasphemous - much along the lines of the manual vs PDK debate. (I love rowing my own gears, but the PDK is so silky and sublime).

  • 1974Bronco (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 2 daysago

Soliciting feedback from the Porsche purist and owner. I’m an old Porsche guy, been collecting for five decades. Question is considering the rarity of these cars how does all the mods effect value and collectability of a car like this? Good or bad my .02 is these changes are very well done, like right from the factory.

  • Dbahnick 3 weeks, 2 daysago

Bid in the amount of $20,000

  • ndotmoss (seller) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

@jcdeng video and pictures have been uploaded. The amount is closer to the low end of KWs stated range (30mm). ~1-1.25 inches.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

Cold start, HLS up and down videos with measurement pictures, under carriage pictures and pictures of the additional items have been uploaded and are in process of being added to the gallery.

I had to take a lot of undercarriage pictures because my quick jacks can only go so high. I have the pictures from when I purchased the car and can upload them too if anyone would want a larger view from a two post lift.

Or you can probably find them if you search the VIN online.

  • ndotmoss (seller) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

@corn0nthecob my wife and I had a child and the car isn’t getting used nearly enough. Up until my son was born I wasn’t fully convinced I should let it go but decided it was time. There has been no track time during my ownership and as far as I know none prior to that unless Mr Lee did after SP Motorsports was complete.

  • corn0nthecob (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

I can attest that SP Motorsports does great work to any non-Bay Area bidders considering this car. They are one of, if not the most, reputable Porsche motorsport shops in the region. Asa for car, what is the reason for the sale and was this car used solely as a track car? If not, how much was track?

  • ndotmoss (seller) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

@jcdeng KW says up to 45 mm, so 1.77 inches. Sure thing - I will post a video with before and after measurements today.

  • jcdeng (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

how much lift does the HLS system provide? can you post a picture/video of it in operation? thanks

    Hello all,

I thought I would chime in as the previous owner of this car. The modifications were done by SPS motorsports in Northern California to a very high level. As you can see in the pictures, there is an article written about the build of this and the thinking behind it.

What I loved most about owning this car is it was still a 997.2 GTS C4 but different than all the rest. When I would go to various cars and coffees and someone would ask what it is, I would say a 2012 GT3 touring, smile and walk away.

Great car from a great seller. Bid with confidence

Hey everyone, welcome to the auction of my GTS. It’s an amazing car that turns heads and gets attention wherever I’ve taken it. I’m sure whoever wins will love it as much as I have. I’m glad to answer any and all questions as best I can. I will post a cold start video and under carriage pictures tomorrow. If there’s anything you’d like to see I’ll do my best to help. Happy bidding!
