This launch-year Porsche 991 Carrera is finished in Platinum Silver Metallic over a black standard interior. Among the final generation of the naturally aspirated Carrera, this non-sunroof Coupe features a 7-speed manual transmission mated to its 3.4-liter flat-six engine as well as the Premium Package Plus, Sport Chrono Package, BOSE Surround Sound System, and more. This 911 is now being offered for auction out of Indiana while showing just over 43k miles on the odometer.

Finished in Platinum Silver Metallic, this 991 rides on optional 20” Carrera Classic wheels with colored Porsche crested center caps. Equipment includes front fog lights, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes that the front fascia has been wrapped in paint protection film and reports very few blemishes in the paint. New Michelin tires were also mounted within the last 1,500 miles. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin sports black upholstery and features the optional Premium Package Plus which adds 14-way power-adjustable front sport seats with heating & ventilation, Porsche Entry & Drive, the Light Design Package, Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), and auto-dimming mirrors. Additional options include Sport Chrono Package, BOSE Surround Sound System, SiriusXM & HD Radio receiver, and a 6-disc CD/DVD changer. The seller reports that the door panels show slight warping at the tops.

This Carrera is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six sending up to 345 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 7-speed manual transmission. Optional performance features include Power Steering Plus and the Sport Chrono Package. The seller states that an oil change was performed approximately 1,500 miles ago.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “I am personally a long-term Porsche 911 owner. This car was traded into our dealership on a new Jeep. I have driven the 911 for about 500 miles and it is a beautiful driving car that I don't think has any issues. A good friend of our family traded it to us. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me and I will either have the answer or get the answer for you.”

Congrats to buyer and seller. It's a beautiful car. Slightly above what I was willing to pay, but if you keep the car for 10 years or 20 years, you won't care about a few grand up or down today.

@Entomodonata Yes, they will probably. Good for them I guess.

    @211Broadway Check out pic #26…

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@211Broadway They have a slight warp at the top. The 991.1's are a tad notorious for this . You cannot see it from the inside but you can see from the outside.

  • 211Broadway (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Base Carrera's are the way to go, in my opinion. Most bang for the buck.

  • 211Broadway (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Door panels show slight warping? What does that mean? I don't see any issues or warps. Maybe my computer screen is old.

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@Entomodonata Yes it is working. Both oil and water temp gauges are working.

  • Entomodonata (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@drodg33 thank you. The second ticket pointed to an electrical issue with the temperature gauge, can you confirm that gauge is working now?

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

Sorry I have to take pictures of the RO's as they have to be JPEG The first ticket is from 10/22 with 41459 miles. The second ticket is from 5/23 with 42138 for miles . Thanks

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@Entomodonata I still have not got the paper records from him on service. I believe it was new tires and an oil filter change. I don't think the full 40K service was done which I don't think the spark plugs were changed.

  • Entomodonata (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@drodg33 less than 3 hours to go, any luck on those paper service records? 40k service done? Should have included spark plug replacement in addition to typical oil/filter change. Thank you!

  • edgy4sure (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@drodg33 I wouldn't sweat the DME, it doesn't look like a tracked, or thrashed car - I've had 3 GT3s and a GT4 and none have ever had over-revs beyond stage 2 - pretty much any indy can run a DME also (doesn't have to go to a speakership)

GLWA, this car looks great, and with the slick top it'd be at the top of my list of options, I just wish it were an "S"

  • luis.seneriz 1 yearago

Bid in the amount of $35,313

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@Entomodonata No!!! DME won't happen this week I have too much on my plate and I really don't have a dealer very close to me and we have a bit of snow on the ground so I will not drive it. I will get that extra RO from him.

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

    @chasman911 That is funny.

  • chasman911 1 yearago

I must chime in...I have driven 911's over 150,000 miles in the last 20 years....964, 996 and now a 991...ALL with a sunroof...when I have considered new 911's I have (2) two requirements....a sunroof and a rear wiper.....to each his own but a 911 is a GT touring car and there is nothing better than a back road jaunt with the sunroof wide open. I use the cars as everyday transportation and have found the sunroof and rear wipers to be a necessity...looking at past results a "sunroof delete" car bring about $10K LESS...anyway not knocking this car in any way just my thoughts....**as a note if you have not mastered "human" rev matching maybe a PDK car is for you....or a Buick...just saying..:)

  • lcaofq151va15df14 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

I’m seeing some confusion in the forums alien rev-matching for 2012 production year C2 with Sport Chrono NOT having auto rev matching but 2013s as having it. For late in the production, it seems like _maybe_ it might be there.

Could someone with more familiarity weigh in?

  • Entomodonata (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@drodg33 any luck on those additional service records and a DME report?

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@HlPlinker Thank you for doing that vin option spread. I so appreciate it.

  • TUD17 1 yearago

@RennStout Well said… I fully agree. I am in the anti-sunroof camp and it has nothing to do with money, “being cheap.” It is solely about the immense dislike of adding additional weight to a sports car as well as raising the center of gravity.

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

Well I think it does have yes but I never really tried it

  • lcaofq151va15df14 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Does this have auto-rev matching in Sport Plus mode?

  • RennStout (registered bidder) 1 yearago

I’ll offer an opposing opinion: the sunroof delete is a big plus on any 911. Cleaner lines on the slicktop, no visual breakup to the color or roofline and less “things” to break let alone the increased headroom on older designs. Depending on your flavor no sunroof, no power windows and no A/C in the right car offer a more sports purpose, visceral appeal with weight savings and simplicity to enjoy the more analog experience that any manual 911 can afford. This is why the Carrera T exists so I think Porsche understands a viewpoint such as mine and market opportunity. Certain options are not always better. And I assume that’s why they have almost 30 or 40 model variants or whatever it is

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@wbick51 There are two remotes and then there is a like hard key in the ignition that does not come out. You cannot start the car without the remote on your person. I do not have a build sheet. I think the seats are leather but not 100% sure. Maybe partial leather.

  • smittone (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Doesn’t have to be a Porsche dealer. Could be any Indy shop that has the diagnostic tool.

  • wbick51 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

picture 32/78, Info gauge says "Attention: No key found in vehicle", and yet the key is visible in the slot. Key needs battery or reprogramming? Also, do you have full build sheet? Seats look like leatherette.

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@thelampire Thanks and I have driven quite a few manual cars and I can say this clutch feels great.

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@smittone Thanks but not sure where to get a DME. I am an air cooled guy. So does this have to be done at a Porsche store?

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@Entomodonata You will get a dealer tag for 45 days thanks.

  • smittone (registered bidder) 1 yearago

I echo the requests for a DME. Definitely goes a long way giving potential buyers some peace of mind.

  • Entomodonata (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@drodg33 thanks for the quick reply. As a dealer, could you issue a temp tag if the buyer wanted to fly in and drive home? Thanks again!

  • thelampire (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Do you know the condition of the clutch? In principle I think the wear could be read from the computer. You could get the DME report at the same time. You could get a lot more for the car if you had these two because potential buyers wouldn't need to risk that much (including me).

  • Waltersmith52 1 yearago

  • Antiqueguy (registered bidder) 1 yearago

It's especially true with air cooled cars. An early 911 with a sunroof or power windows or air conditioning and any other option you could have ordered back then will bring a lot more money than a car that does not have any options.

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@Antiqueguy I understand what you are saying. That is not true necessarily with air cooled 911's as sunroof delete cars appear to do as well or better than a sunroof car. Also I thought that some of the water cooled cars had an issue with creaking sunroofs.

  • Antiqueguy (registered bidder) 1 yearago

I find it very funny, when a seller emphasize sunroof delete like that's a good thing. All that means is the original owner was to cheap to order the car with an S package and pay the extra for the sunroof. It's no secret Porsche with the a lot of options sell the best on the secondary market

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Someone commented about the weight to power ratio. I have an early cable throttle 996 that weights 2750 lbs but has 330 horsepower. This car it’s a lot bigger in size. I still like it and I’ll be a buyer at the right price.

@cdubs2k I will get a hold of him and see if I can get better records of the other service. I have the repair order for the coolant leak.

  • cdubs2k (registered bidder) 1 yearago

    Thanks for the info @drodg33.

Would you be willing to get a DME report for us prior to auction end?

Tom Wood Porsche will provide your friend the service records during his ownership… would they be willing to get that for you so you could share it here?

Want to see what services were completed at the 41k mile mark and curious about the electrical and cooling system checks the dealer performed soon after the service.

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

The date codes are front tires week 19/2022 and the rear are week 16/2022. Tread depth would be an average for front and rear 7/32. Thanks everyone.

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

@Entomodonata I do not have a DME report. I don't have records beyond those you see on Carfax., I am going to get the tread depth and date codes posted this afternoon. Thanks

  • Entomodonata (registered bidder) 1 yearago

    Hey there,

    Nice 991! A few questions:

Do you have paper service records beyond what is listed on CarFax?

    DME report available?

Tire tread depth and date codes?

    Thanks so much!

  • drodg33 (seller) 1 yearago

Thanks for the comment. This is a really nice driving car. I have had five air cooled 911s and own a 993 now that is a wonderful car. This car, especially with the seven speed is a very solid interactive 911. Everything works. I considered keeping it but actually don't have room right now. Thanks everyone.

  • peterporsche911964 1 yearago

Such a great alround modern 911 this is, last of the naturally asperited, combination of manual and sportexhaust is so great on this generation, much better then on the 991.02 with turbo engine. I have droven 100.000 miles in a similar one and I can recommend this car to all 911 lovers who want to drive a modern 911, a keeper all the way !!! Also take note that this one only weighs 1400kilogram, so very good weight to horsepower ratio !!!
