We are pleased to present this 2012 Porsche 997.2 Carrera Cabriolet Black Edition. A sendoff to the 997 Carrera, the 911 Black Edition was limited to only 1,911 examples worldwide with approximately 25% allocated for the U.S. market. This limited-edition model sports a dark theme and comes standard with 19” Turbo II wheels, Bose Surround Sound, navigation, and more. Additionally, this Cabriolet was optioned with painted hardback Sport Seats, created headrests, clear glass taillights, a 7-speed PDK transmission, and the Sport Chrono Package Plus. Acquired by the current owner on PCARMARKET in 2020, this Black Edition is now being offered for auction out of Missouri with approximately 36k miles showing on the odometer.
This Carrera comes finished in nonmetallic Black with a matching cabriolet soft top, painted headlight cleaner covers, and optional clear glass taillights. The Black Edition comes standard with a “911” rear model designation and 19” Turbo II wheels, normally a $2,440 option. The wheels are have been recently dressed in a set of new tires and only minor signs of wear are noted throughout the exterior, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this special edition features optional leather Adaptive Sport Seats with black-painted backrest shells and Porsche crested headrests. Other options include a multifunction steering wheel, Driver Memory Package, Bi-Xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), and a fuel filler cap with an aluminum-look finish. A placard mounted on the glovebox displays the car’s limited production number of 640/1911, while the entranceways are lined with special Black Edition stainless steel door sills.
This second-generation 997 Carrera is equipped with a direct fuel injected 3.6L flat-six engine that sends as much as 345 HP and 287 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. Equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus, this Carrera can reach 60 MPH from a standstill in just 4.5 seconds with a top speed of nearly 180 MPH. CARFAX shows a lifetime of routine maintenance carried out primarily by authorized Porsche dealers with the last recorded service completed by Porsche Amityville in 2019 at 32,226 miles. Since acquiring the car last year, the seller has driven just over 2,300 miles and replaced the tire pressure monitoring sensors. An oil and filter change will also be carried out in preparation for the next owner.
