The MP4-12C was the first production road car developed entirely by McLaren, featuring a carbon composite chassis and equipped with a 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 and Graziano 7-speed Seamless-Shift dual-clutch gearbox. This 2012 example is finished in the rare premium color of Mercury Red over a Carbon Black leather and Alcantara interior with red contrast stitching, and was optioned with lightweight Stealth five-spoke forged wheels, silver-painted brake calipers, a carbon fiber front splitter, an MSO Sport exhaust, power heated seats, front and rear parking sensors, and the Premium Merdian Sound Package. Benefitting from recent service at McLaren of San Francisco, this 2012 MP4-12C is now being offered at auction by the seller out of Virginia showing miles on the odometer.
The carbon fiber composite bodywork is finished in Mercury Red and features a carbon fiber front splitter, single-hinged dihedral doors, bi-xenon projector headlights, LED taillights, silver brake calipers with black McLaren script, a dual-exit exhaust, and a dynamic spoiler with active airbrake. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The lightweight 19”/20” Stealth-finished five-spoke wheels are mounted with Pirelli P-Zero tires.
The interior is trimmed in black leather and Alcantara, featuring power-adjustable and heated seats with McLaren logos on the headrests and Alcantara centers. Alcantara upholstery extends to the dashboard and center console, accented with red contrast stitching and carbon fiber trim on the center console, steering wheel spokes, door sills, and door panels. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7” portrait format touchscreen infotainment display, a Meridian sound system, and cruise control. The seller reports that the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light is present.
The MP4-12C is equipped with a 3.8L twin-turbocharged M838T V8 that produces up to 592 HP and 443 lb.-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed Seamless Shift dual-clutch transmission by Graziano. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH occurs in around 3 seconds with a claimed top speed of 207 MPH. Performance features include the ProActive Chassis Control suspension with adaptive dampening and hydraulic roll control, launch control, an Active Dynamics Panel, and an F1-inspired Brake Steer system. Service completed in January of 2022 included programming a new key, recalibrating the window switches, replacement of the fuel door latch, and fitting a new upper coolant hose and clamps.
This sale will include a clean title, a window sticker, and some service documentation.

Sold for $78,000
Bid in the amount of $78,000
Ooooh, I hope this sells, but suspect that it's RNM, since $75,500 would be a STEAL for a car of this calibre. Hopefully the DT price will be reasonable, and a deal will be had!
Oh, and FWIW, the "window sticker" that the McLaren dealer provided is, sadly, incorrect. All of the option pricing is for a *2013* coupe, but this is a 2012 coupe. Literally, the price of each option is shown with the 2013 price for that option. And the base MSRP is $229,000 in 2012, and McLaren actually charged for the floor mat and car cover as options in 2012, but included both items starting in 2013. This car is #895 for 2012 coupes, so it's near the mid-point of the 2012 MY run. Note that the build sheet does list Volcano Red, rather than Mercury Red. Hope this helps,

@Artdeckco i’m waiting to hear back from the dealer I just called again today she said I should have it shortly I think it was around 292k, thanks!
@Bighead hey thanks for input! I’m still waiting back from the dealer I should have it today I think the original sticker price was around 292k actually but that’s pretty spot on you know you’re cars lol
Thanks!
Beautiful car; the Mercury Red is a super rare option. Since the seller doesn't have a window sticker, here's my attempt at a recreation. Should be pretty darn close. For those new to McLaren, please note that I wouldn't call it a "fully [spec'ed] out model with every option purchased". To be fair, it does not have nearly all of the carbon fiber options (no turning vanes, mirror covers, engine covers, engine bay panels (missing??), seat backs or wheel arches). It doesn't have the Stealth Pack; can't tell if it has a Sports Exhaust or not. No parking sensors and no carbon-ceramic brakes either. The IRIS system is generation 1, not 2. And it appears to have one 570S key, not a 12C key. Sharing this just for the benefit of bidders; it IS a stunningly fast car, able to leave 458s in the dust and neck-to-neck with 488s. I'd get a second key immediately, and find some replacement engine bay panels. And make sure to get a replacement C-tek charger; don't need the McLaren branded one. The MP4-12C is a supremely comfortable, surprisingly reliable super car. GLWS!

Hi, if I may be so bold, could you tell me what sticker price was in 2012 for this Mclaren?
Bid in the amount of $10,500
Bid in the amount of $10,000
@george4porsche full car has ppf, just has sensors
What panels are covered by the PPF? Does the car have the rear camera or just the sensors?
@george4porsche yes has PPF, I requested sticker, will prob take a few days to email, yes one key, you can another made for 199 if needed
Does the car have any PPF installed? To the earlier question (and listing description), will the window sticker be posted before the auction close? There is only one key, correct?
@bents It’s just one sensor on the back left tire it does not bother me, the car was detailed and cleaned, it looks very clean in the pictures to me
Thanks
Why not resolve the TPMS issue and clean the car prior to listing?
@dgpnaples miles are 44865
@Dkouseller hi thanks, the digital screen I replaced when I got it, if you can please read the service records I listed it should tell you everything that was replaced so far, has iris II, just about everything that goes wrong on these has been taken care of as the previous owner had a warranty and I think he took some precautionary measure, was over 25k worth of notable service, I don’t Have the window sticker but you can actually contact McLaren and they will email one so I’ll try and do that, I know it was a fully specked out model with every option purchased, thanks for your interest
How many miles are on the car?
Beautiful color. I have owned to 12c’s. They are incredibly fun cars. I have been lucky enough to have a little problems with mine but always make sure I purchased the annual warranty. As we all know if anything goes wrong with these cars it could be incredibly expensive because most mechanics do not have the tools to work on these particular cars. Can you let me know what parts the car has been replaced? Things such as the little digital screens for the air conditioning systems on the armrest of the door are pretty much guaranteed to go out during the lifetime of the car. Does this car have the iris infotainment system or Iris II infotainment system? Do you know what the original MSRP was on this car? Do you have the window sticker listing the options?
@zollerm hi thanks, absolutely no issues at all, has been very well Taken care of, lots of service at McLaren
My fav color as well
Pretty cool Car
Sir,
Other than the TPMS warning light, what other major issues should we be cognizant of concerning a possible purchase. Color is wonderful.
Thanks
