Named for the legendary high-speed straight of the Le Mans racing circuit, the Bentley Mulsanne was introduced as the first flagship luxury car independently designed by Bentley since the 8 Litre model of 1930. The Mulsanne offers beautiful hand-crafted accommodations for its passengers along with a full complement of modern technology and a twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing over 500 HP. This 2012 example comes finished in Fountain Blue over Magnolia leather upholstery and features the Premiere Specification Package added at a sticker cost of nearly $20k as well as extended Birdseye Maple wood veneers, a Naim Premium Audio System, side view cameras, and more. Showing approximately 24k miles on the odometer, this tastefully configured Bentley Mulsanne is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
The elegant coachwork of the Bentley Mulsanne was styled by Dirk van Braeckel who was also responsible for designing Bentley’s contemporary Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Brooklands models. This example is finished in Fountain Blue, one of 114 exterior paint colors offered by the factory. It features an optional chromed radiator shell with a bright stainless-steel matrix grille as well as the optional Premier Specifications package which adds a flying “B” radiator mascot, stainless steel exterior trim, a jewel fuel filler cap, bright stainless-steel door pillar finishers, a shade band to the tinted windscreen, and 21” polished alloy wheels that are currently dressed in Pirelli Scorpion Verde tires. The seller notes the front tires were previously replaced; additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with optional cross-stitched Magnolia leather upholstery and Birdseye Maple wood veneers extending to the gear lever, steering wheel, and door panels. Other optional details include drilled alloy sports foot pedals, embroidered Bentley emblems to all seats, deep pile Wilton carpet floor mats, Bentley wing badges to the waist rails and fascia, and twin illuminated fold-down vanity mirrors with rear quarter vanity mirrors. This Mulsanne was also optioned with side view cameras, the Naim Premium Audio System, and Premiere Specifications Package which adds ambient interior mood lighting, a hand-stitched leather storage case, rearview camera ventilated, heated, and massaging seats front and rear, veneered picnic tables, and a veneered iPod drawer and minor gauges panel. The seller adds that the car was delivered at an original sticker price of approximately $350k.
The twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 Bentley L-Series engine produces up to 505 HP and 752 lb.-ft of torque and features variable displacement and cam phasing for improved fuel efficiency. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Shift Interface, Sport Mode, and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Other performance features include electronically controlled air springs with Continuous Damping Control (CDC) and Drive Dynamics Control. The timing cover was resealed in December 2022 along with the air suspension valve at a cost of nearly $9k. Additional maintenance history is provided on the CARFAX report and more recent service included a new air suspension strut, wheel center cap, and more at a cost of over $12k.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Dozer the paint is original
@Katalyticmc Thanks, I realize that from the CARFAX but can you confirm the car has not had any paint work, i.e. bumpers sprayed, etc.?
@Dozer yes, no accidents
Is the paint all original?

@DrT Hi, Local dealership in the South Bay we have used many times to sell our cars. Great dealership!
Seller: the Carfax shows this car to be listed for sale by Hermosa Motors as recently as three months ago. A quick Google search shows this to be a car far beyond what they sell; their usual stock-in-trade. Please explain.
@Tern06840 Hello there is one key at the moment, sorting if there is a second in storage. Seen in the photos-the tires are Pirelli scorpion and the fronts were just replaced in December 2022 and the rears were noted as healthy, all are the same brand. The service was completed at Otto’s European Coachwork in Santa Monica a reputable Bentley and Rolls independent, and record of recent completed work can be provided. The electronic functions from the window shades in rear to the Naim audio all function as they should. There is no ceramic or paint Correction done. The car was detailed last week by our detailer. Again, the steering wheel shows minor wear and it is a large option/upgrade with the matching veneer.
Hello,
Are there two keys?
What is the age/condition of the tires?
Where was the recent servicing done and do you have those receipts?
Has the car been ceramic coated / paint correction?
All electronic features work?
@Katalyticmc I would appreciate if you would address the questions posed by Tern06840. Thanks.
Thank you for the response! Helpful. Was also just hoping to get some info on the following…
Are there two keys?
What is the age/condition of the tires?
Where was the recent servicing done and do you have those receipts?
Has the car been ceramic coated / paint correction?
All electronic features work?
Sounds like the small cosmetic stuff like steering wheel is addressable…
this thing is stunning. It will be perfect for my wife to chauffer me around in!

@Tern06840 Thank you for the interest in the Mulsanne! Overall the bespoke spec Fountain Blue paint is in very good condition. No accidents.
There are no chips or damage to the front area of the car. Left rear corner bumper has very light scuffing. Photos speak for themselves. The tint was as is.
In regards to maintenance history, the car just had over $12,000 of service work completed. A major service most Mulsannes will need is the front timing repair, $8,000 alone. The right suspension was replaced along with a full service. Most luxury cars are air ride suspension so it is something always to keep an eye out for on any luxury car. Buying a car of this caliber With such recent work is a great value add.
The interior was some wear but minor. I would say the steering wheel shows minor scuffing on the magnolia leather. The leather on the dash, seats, and trims are all supple and soft as the car stayed garaged always. No scratches or damage to any of the veneer wood panels. Just detailed the car and covered it as of Monday.
Hi - beautiful car. Have been looking for a while and this is an interesting color combo. A few questions…
- Was the recent servicing done at Bentley or a Bentley specialist? Do you have those receipts to upload?
- Looks like a nice example but given the car is 10+ years old I would expect some comment flaws. Do you have a list of known imperfections? For example, are there any visible paint chips on the hood or fenders from rocks etc that are tough to make out in the photos?
- Any wheel scuffs?
- looks like steering wheel has some imperfections, have you or the previous owner tried to correct these? Addressable?
- How is the leather on the dash and door panels? Is it coming loose in any places? I have a 01 Continental T that has needed some work on this and it was quite a project (this one looks nice but hard to tell from photos)
- Does it have a clear coat / has a paint correction ever been done or bright work done?
-Do you know when the tints were put on / can they easily be removed?
- This is an early model (‘12) do you happen to know of any common issues that model year tended to have and have those been addressed? I see the current owner did some recent service which is good. I think air suspension is an issue - has been fully addressed?
- Do any of the features not work?
- Age of all four tires?
Sorry for all the questions but appreciate your input!

Hi all,
This car is drop dead stunning in person. I have yet to see another in the Fountain Blue, with high options.
This vehicle has been owned by a collector and used as a 3rd vehicle and stowed in a climate controlled garage when not used and rendered. Over $12,000 in service work was just performed (suspension work/tires), the car needs nothing.
Owner found himself a beautiful new one, and this one will be missed. Please feel free to connect with any questions or viewings.
