Offered for auction is a 2012 Aston Martine Rapide finished in metallic grey. Debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Aston Martin Rapide is a high-performance fastback sports saloon featuring a naturally aspirated V12 engine and chassis derived from the DB9 grand touring car. This 2012 example sports a beautifully crafted brown and tan leather interior with optional rear-seat entertainment as well as a 16-speaker Band & Olufsen sound system. Sold new in California, this Rapide spent most of its life under the care of its second owner in Michigan and recently returned to the West Coast where it is now being offered for auction showing just over 12k miles on the odometer.
This Rapide sports a metallic grey finish and rides on factory 20” multi-spoke wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires. The modified DB9-derived VH platform used for the Rapide incorporates bodywork with traditional swan wing doors, hood louvers, an extruded front grille, and straked front fender vents as well as clear taillights and rear diffusers borrowed from the Vantage. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in tan and brown leather with an Alcantara headliner, thick deviated stitching, walnut veneers, and metallic accents. The rear compartment features individual heated and cooled bucket seats and an entertainment system incorporated into the front seat headrests. Other equipment includes a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, heated and cooled front seats with position memory, navigation, climate control, and pushbutton ignition.
The 6.0 AM11 V12 engine generates as much as 470 HP and 443 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed Touchtronic 2 automatic transmission with magnesium alloy paddle shifters. Other features include a limited-slip differential, alloy torque tube with carbon fiber driveshaft, four-wheel independent double-wishbone suspension, Adaptive Damping System (ADS), speed-sensing power steering, and a stainless-steel exhaust with active bypass valves. A study by Car and Driver found the Rapide capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 184 MPH. The seller reports the car had been dealer-maintained under prior ownership, although no service records are available.
This sale will include a clean title and headsets for the rear-seat entertainment system. The first-generation Aston Martin Rapide represents a substantial value with its powerful V12 engine, luxurious amenities, and brilliant craftsmanship. Do not let this beautiful 2012 example pass you by.
