Finished in Carrara White, this 2011 Porsche 987.2 Cayman is powered by a 2.9-liter flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car was purchased stock by the seller and subsequently converted for track use with the installation of a 6-point roll cage, a Sparco QRT-R racing seat, a Schroth safety harness, a 991 GT3 Cup steering wheel, an AutoBlip module, Rennline wheel studs, stainless-steel brake lines, Sebro slotted front brake rotors, and more. Having been driven less than 100 miles with only one track day since the modifications were installed, this Cayman is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
This 987.2 is finished in Carrara White and features aftermarket taillights, auto-dimming mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, side air intakes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a center-mounted exhaust outlet. The car rides on aftermarket black-finished 18” wheels with polished outer lips, colored Porsche crest center caps, Rennline wheel studs, and new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires mounted within the last 100 miles. A set of used Hankook Ventus C51 racing slicks is also included. The seller notes stone chips on the hood and front bumper and paint fading and peeling on the roof. The CARFAX report shows minor water damage sustained in October 2024, resulting in a total loss declaration and a salvage title.
The Sand Beige interior has been stripped for weight savings, apart from the original dashboard. It features a welded 6-point roll cage, a Sparco QRT-R racing seat, a 6-point Schroth safety harness, a flat-bottom 991 GT3 Cup Alcantara steering wheel, and a carbon fiber panel mounted in place of the radio with an AutoBlip module attached. The seller notes the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), airbag, and brake light warnings are present on the dashboard due to the modifications. The CARFAX report shows a Not Actual Mileage title issued in October 2024.
Factory-rated at 265 HP and 221 lb-ft of torque, the mid-mounted 2.9-liter flat-six engine drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The braking system has been modified with stainless-steel lines, Motul 660 brake fluid, Sebro slotted front rotors, Hawk HPS front pads, Textar rear rotors, and Brembo rear pads.
This Cayman is offered with a bill of sale.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I bought the car from an auction and have transformed it into an entry-level track car. The Cayman retains stock suspension, drivetrain, and exhaust. Perfect entry-level track car that's very forgiving. Also, a great base for a full-out track build. I have been a Pcar owner for the last 15 years from 986-996 street and track cars. Feel free to ask any questions, and I will happily answer them.”

@Mccheez I added photos of the car at auction. They’re the last 4-5
@Mccheez no water line marked at auction. I was unable to find and signs of water damage in the cabin. When carpet was removed no water in the foam. Runs perfectly fine. Everything works as it should
Any idea where the water line was on the flood dAMAGE? Obviously, it seems to be running fine, Just the carpets? Any details available?

@Lundclan engine is very healthy, clutch feels great, goes through all 6 gears very smoothly. The car was definitely taken care of has a pretty good maintenance history since new with the carfax report
Any concern at all for the engine, clutch or transmission? I am in and out of contact today so hopefully I can keep an eye on this.
Bid in the amount of $4,000
@Lundclan both track days were done at Sebring. I don’t records my lap times but if I would have to guess 2:50s. My previous PCA track Boxster ran 2:30s and this was definitely slower due to lack of a track focused suspension and alignment. I do not have a compression test or oil analysis. I have added a photo of DME report. Being a one owner street car can see there was no range 2-6 on the report.
Please describe how the car drove on the track day. Which track? What time? Sebring I assume. Do you have any compression test or other info about motor health? Oil analysis? Looks like a fun entry level Porsche track car. I have a 996 converted to a track car that I am really fond of. Love the mid engine though. I have a few other Caymans and a Boxster so I'm familiar with the platform.
@xcsp5002 Thanks, I see it now. What an idiot of me 😂
@Cyncarver battery is mounted in stock location under the hood. If you look at the photo with the hood open will see factory black plastic cover.
We’re In the final 24hrs. Feel free to ask any questions and I will answer them ASAP
Thank you
Where is the battery located? I don’t see it in the original location from your pictures.
@chriwi comes with a set of used slicks unmounted and original 17in cayman wheels are included but need tires
@chriwi I can try to get you a higher speed video but living in a neighborhood I’m not able to get up much faster on public roads.
forget the question on the tires-I re-read and saw my answer. I would feel more likely to push my price if there was more video on the running car above the 45mph and low revs shown in the video. I am looking to find out more of the engine's performance and overall shape-and any info that might help me figure out if I am looking at a car that can see more track time without serious issues
Do the race tires and wheels come with the ones on the car now?

Total loss*
@stevwang the car was a title loss by insurance issued a COD which means car can never be registered for street use. The car is being sold on bill of sale.
The description said Salvage title, but the listing showed:
"Title Status: Bill of Sale"
What does this mean? Thanks

@Van_Slyke I was unable to find any water damage in the car, No waterline marked at auction. No water in foam under carpet. Control module under the seat had zero water damage. I will upload photos of when I picked up from the auction.
@Van914 I was presented with the opportunity to get one of dream cars.
Can you speak to the nature and amount of water damage that occurred to the car last October. I know that Port Charlotte and the Gulf coast was one of the areas that was impacted by the storms and flooding last fall.
