Based on the 987.2 platform, the original Boxster Spyder debuted as Porsche’s most lightweight production car with a stiffened sport suspension, 19” wheels, a basic manual convertible top, and a 3.4-liter flat-six engine factory-rated at 320 HP. This 2011 example is finished in Guards Red over Black leather upholstery. It was further configured with a 7-speed PDK transmission, heated leather Sport Seats with painted seatbacks, an Additional Alcantara Interior Package, automatic climate control, Sound Package Plus, Sport Chrono Package, Sport Exhaust System, dynamic cornering bi-xenon headlights, an aluminum footrest, and more. This generously optioned 987.2 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia with just over 5k miles showing on the odometer.
The Boxster Spyder is characterized by its double-hump aluminum rear clamshell that conceals a manually operated two-piece convertible soft top. Compared to a standard 987.2 Boxster, the Spyder also includes a lightweight aluminum hood and door panels, redesigned LED daytime running lights, exposed side intake grilles, and a larger fixed rear spoiler. This example is finished in traditional Guards Red and features optional dynamic cornering bi-xenon headlamps and self-dimming mirrors with a rain sensor. It rides on 19" Boxster Spyder wheels with colored Porsche crests and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 N2 tires from 2020 at the front and 2021 at the rear. Minor blemishes are noted on the paint protection film, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black interior features heated Leather Sport Seats with body-colored seatbacks, along with the Boxster Spyder Additional Alcantara Interior Package. Additional options include a three-spoke Sport Steering Wheel with paddle shifters, a Sport Chrono stopwatch dial, automatic climate control, the Sound Package Plus, a CDR-30 CD radio, a universal audio interface, a Bluetooth interface for a mobile phone, and an aluminum footrest.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine factory-rated at 320 HP and 273 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 10 HP over the Boxster S. The rear wheels are driven through a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission. Options include the Sport Chrono Package and Sport Exhaust System. The seller highlights maintenance by Hennessy Porsche of North Atlanta, Georgia, and the CARFAX report shows a total of 6 service history entries.

Great spec. This color combo w/ the painted sport backs, SC and PSE make for an amazing easy to drive gt car when needed but still one of the best canyon carver's money can buy. Some of the best Porsches ever made.
Hennessy Porsche service records have been added to the gallery. It was maintained at Hennessy every year, but the widow does not know where her husband kept the other records. I checked with Hennessy and they do not keep records before 2016. Between these records and the CarFax records, this should be sufficient.

@islaTurbine, Last weekend I attended the 10 year Porsche Experience in Atlanta. There was a very low mile .2 red Spyder there. Maybe that was you? Same as this but with LWB’s and PCCB’s?
Interesting that there’s another Guards Red located in ATL. Up till now mine was the only one I had seen in the area. And for as rare as 987.2 Spyders are, I know of at least 6 others (including mine) in the greater Atlanta area.
I bought mine a few years back with the initial idea to only keep it 3-5 years in order to “scratch the itch.” Here I am four years later contemplating how I could ever consider getting rid of a car that provides such immense driving enjoyment.
On paper these early Spyders don’t seem like much, but the sum of the parts equates to something quite special. IYKYK
Get one while you can. 1667 produced worldwide and less than 900 came to North America.

Welcome to the auction of this impeccable Boxster Spyder, finished in Guards red which is not common for a 987.2 Spyder. This Spyder was purchased new at Hennessy Porsche and maintained at Hennessy Porsche throughout its life. Hennessy Porsche is only 3.0 miles from our dealership and it shows history in Hilton Head because the wife of the former owner moved there after his passing. She continued to enjoy the car, keeping his memory alive. Eventually, she reached out to the Car Concierge Team to find an enthusiast home for the car so that she can take care of a few personal matters.
This Spyder came from a true car family and shared garage space with the likes of a Ferrari Dino, Ferrary Daytona Spyder, De Tomaso Pantera, and various Porsche's.
The owner of our dealership worked for Porsche Cars North America and also sold Porsche cars. Please feel free to reach out with any technical questions or general questions about the Spyder.
