Based on the 987.2 platform, the original Boxster Spyder debuted as Porsche’s most lightweight production car with a stiffened sport suspension, special 19” wheels, a 320 HP engine, and a basic manual convertible top. This 2011 example is finished in Black over a matching leather and Alcantara interior and comes equipped with an optional 7-speed PDK transmission, carbon fiber full bucket seats automatic climate control, and Sound Package Plus. Showing approximately 47k miles on the odometer, this Boxster Spyder is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina.
The Boxster Spyder is characterized by its double-hump aluminum rear clamshell that conceals a manually operated two-piece convertible soft top. Compared to a standard 987.2 Boxster, the Spyder also includes a lightweight aluminum hood and door panels, redesigned LED daytime running lights, exposed side intake grilles, and a larger fixed rear spoiler. This example is finished in Black with contrasting silver side stripes and grille surrounds. Equipment includes dual roll hoops, LED brake lights, and dual center-mounted exhaust pipes flanked by twin diffusers. The car rides on factory 19” Boxster Spyder lightweight wheels dressed in Michelin tires. The seller notes that exterior paint correction was recently completed.
Appointed with Black leather and Alcantara upholstery, the interior features a pair of carbon fiber full bucket seats with red seatbelts and matching RS-style cloth door pulls. Details include a body-colored center console and dashboard trim, a three-spoke leather steering wheel with shift buttons, a hoodless instrument cluster, optional automatic climate control, cruise control, Sound Package Plus, and a CDR-30 stereo system.
The Boxster Spyder’s naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine produces up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. The seller notes an oil service was carried out in preparation for the next owner.
This sale will include a clean title.

I'd like to thank everyone for following along and engaging over the last 9 days. Additionally, the @pcarmarcket team for extending the sale following the site glitch.
This is a fantastic example of a special car. We've certainly seen some wild swings in the Porsche market following the pandemic. I'm a firm believer these cars are still waiting for the spotlight they deserve. If you've driven one, you certainly understand. Had I not just recently added a 997 GT3 to the stable, this would be the one to keep. I sure hope the next caretaker cherishes and enjoys the car. It's funny I was chatting with a former owner of this car at length, and he practically took the same words out of my mouth. Acquiring the car from Udrive years back, he drove and enjoyed the car for several years before trading "up" to a 911 turbo, if I recall. It wasn't long before he realized that less is often more, regretting his decision. These cars just check the right boxes. If you're a purist like myself, the PDK box doesn't hold that specialness back in any way. In most cases, it adds to the use -case the car was intended for.
I'll be around to field any and all questions as they arise in the next 90 minutes. Good luck!
The automatic performs better in every objective measurement and is easier to drive on a daily basis. Driver engagement is probably more on a manual. It just comes down to personal preference.
As for the $20k number a I wouldn’t be so sure of that. I did a price analysis on 964 a few years ago (available on pelican parts or rennlist - forget which I posted to) and the price difference between the tiptronic and manual in that car was around $3k and that manual was objectively worse in every perceivable measurement.
What is sharp looking Porsche Boxster Spyder
Just don’t understand who would spec an automatic in a Porsche like this
A manual gearbox would probably add at least $20,000 to this car probably more
Good looker though
Good luck all

Great driving vid, it really shows the cars ability on those great roads. Also what are the odds that another Porsche was driving in the opposite direction, very cool! Lovely car. GLWTA

All,
Apologies for the delayed response. I’ve been without service for the last couple of days on “ Ruchlos Rallye,” an aircooled- Porsche focused event in the Appalachian Mountains. That said-
@docprodmd
No changes since the previous offering.
Tire status- good to go. IIRC- All tires are PS4S, displaying +\- 75% tread depth remaining and within date code range
@bdonahue54, any changes to this car since the recent RNM on BAT?

Good Evening!
I'd like to thank everyone for checking out the auction of our lovely 987.2 Spyder. It's a pleasure to be back on @PCARMARKET, after some time, and offer this example here to you all. I'm pretty easy to find on the net and other auction platforms. @changedriven. Feel free to check references etc. I'm a Porsche guy at my core! Always happy to dive into a conversation. If you're here, this car probably needs no introduction. A limited production, driver-focused thoroughbred from Zuffenhausen is what we love! No story example here.
I'll be around throughout the duration of the auction to field any and all questions as they arise. I'm more than happy to show the car in person if you're local, or jump on a call to discuss the car in painful detail.
Thanks again!
Brian
