Up for auction is this rare 6-speed 2011 997 Carrera GTS.  The 997.2 GTS is praised by many for its optimal performance, upgraded factory options, wide-body, and overall sportier nature over other 911 models.  Believed to be one of only a handful of manual examples still available in today's market, this GTS represents an incredible opportunity for Porsche enthusiasts and collectors alike.  This 997 was originally purchased in Greenville, South Carolina at a sticker price of over $107k.  Now showing only 15k miles on the odometer, this example is being offered for auction in exceptional overall condition by the selling dealer out of Miami, Florida.

Finished in Carrara White, this 997 is said to boast fully original paint while remaining free of any noteworthy flaws or imperfections.  Sport Suspension makes for an aggressive stance which accentuates the factory equipped 19” RS Spyder center-locking wheels.  These exotic wheels are reportedly in excellent condition and are wrapped in new Pirelli P-Zero tires.  Totally original and in impeccable shape, this GTS is a collector’s dream.

Inside, this Carrera GTS highlights a sporty black leather and Alcantara interior.  Factory options include color-matched Carrara White instrument dials as well as BOSE Surround Sound.  This interior is presented in showroom-like condition with absolutely no signs of abuse or excessive wear.  All electrical components, gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional at this time.  The GTS model offers a perfect combination of sport and luxury, making it one of the most sought-after variants in the Porsche line up.

Often regarded as one of the best water-cooled 911’s, this second generation 997 features a robust 3.8L naturally aspirated flat-six engine which produces 408HP.  Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of an exceedingly uncommon and highly desirable 6-speed manual transmission.  The equipped sport suspension package with mechanical rear differential lock livens up the ride while Sport Chrono Plus gives the driver full control of performance characteristics.  Service records will be included in the sale and indicate that this GTS has always been properly maintained.  The seller notes that this example is up-to-date on all service items and stands in ready-to-drive condition.

The sale of this two-owner Carrera GTS will include the owner’s manuals and two sets of keys.  Also included is a clean Carfax report and a clear title.  Standing in excellent condition with low miles and a desirable 6-speed manual transmission, this GTS is an ideal collector’s car as well as a sound investment, place your bid today.

A true NA 911 w/ X51 that engages the pilot with plenty enough hp to make it interesting on the track or street... There are a few MT on the web at well beyond $70k; PDKs are $5-10k less and have been listed for months! No need to compromise.
Last summer, a Saturday 10AM phone call to a P. dealer secured my GTS MT CPO by 10:05AM; (web post appeared at midnight Friday). Its a rare MT6 GTS: ~2500 MY11 production ; ~550 MY12 production 4GTS (no RWD GTS) May go for a GT3 but its too much of a track car.

I think many of the commentators have a fundamental misunderstanding of the unique place in the 911 lineup that the GTS2 holds. The GTS2 is the ONLY naturally aspirated wide body rear wheel drive 911 other than the GT3 RS which is basically a track car. This makes the GTS 2 the only street designated rear wheel drive wide body. Unlike the GTS4, which is basically just a trim package on a C4S, the GTS2 can't be replicated by optioning out a C2S. So yes, sure, there are several GTS4 for sale right now but who cares? It's just a C4S with the power kit. Not worth the premium over a 4S which is why you see them sitting on the market. On the other hand, the GTS2 coupe in manual is not only rare, but it is extremely unique. Of course they pop up for sale once in a while but unlike the GTS4, they get snagged up immediately. I know because I spent two years hunting for this unicorn. During that time I probably came across 5 or so decent ones but they were gone by the time I contacted the seller, which was usually withing hours of the listing. Yes, you can get lucky and snag one for a bargain, but you better be ready to wait months or years. As time goes on, clean low mileage examples will get rarer and rarer which is why you see prices climbing. In 10 years everyone will look back and say " I can't believe I could have bought a 997 GTS2 for only 90K". The simple fact fact is there are currently none for sale other than this one. I still track the market. Prove me wrong.

    @Ace2777 I know the car , no 2wd GTS , that’s the most wanted

  • Pump993 (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

In fact there are three GTS4 manual that I know of for sale

  • Ace2777 (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@porschecollector there is an AWD in Grey available today. Higher mileage

  • OneTrueCarGuy (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

I looked for a long time for a GTS in a manual but settled for the PDK in a 2012 GTS4. Never settle for anything in life. Great car just not what I wanted. Since sold it for exactly what I paid and the market is very strong on these cars. My research shows you could only get a manual RWD GTS in a 2011 model year. Is that correct? All the 2012 ones I've found (like the one I already had) are AWD models.

  • Roku12 (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@porschecollector There are other manual 997 GTS on market, you just have to search. Rennlist boards, etc.
A low mileage GTS manual with CPO can be found, there is a new one for sale every month.

  • Mercyhealth (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

I believe this car also for sale on autotrader asking around 93k. Looks great in a vanishing manual environment.

  • Stingboren (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@porschecollector I bought a 997.2 RS instead. Puts a smile on my face every time I turn the key.

  • Stingboren (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@porschecollector Yes. It was a 2012 in Ohio.

  • porschecollector (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@vicktorvolpe it sounds like the car out of a porsche dealer in ohio , what he’s talking about

  • vicktorvolpe (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@Stingboren was that the one out in Phoenix? Was just messaging with a pca member who just bought one.....shared this link with him because he had a wtb ad in panorama

  • porschecollector (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@Stingboren you should’ve purchased it , I could’ve purchased one 2 years ago for 72k , these cars appreciate every single year for the past 3/4 years and have gotten more and more rare , at the moment this is the only one for sale

  • Stingboren (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

I was looking at one last June at a Porsche dealer with 12,000 miles, one owner, Manual, and from the looks of it, this cars twin brother - same color, same options. Dealer was going to sell it to me for $81,900 and that was with a certified pre-owned warranty starting with my purchase date. As I have looked for one, I agree that they are hard to find, but I personally wouldn't pay in the 90s for one regardless of availability. I think somewhere in the mid $80 is definitely reasonable.

  • porschecollector (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@SpeedJunky VERY WELL SAID SIR , couldn’t agree more

  • SpeedJunky (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

Simply stunning. I’ve searched years before finding mine and it has been nothing but amazing. Anyone who thinks this is a 75k car is either dreaming or doesn’t understand the market. A manual 997 GTS2 coupe is your proverbial unicorn, especially in this condition and mileage. Go find me another one listed in the country, at any price. Not a single one listed currently. When they come up, they are gone in minutes or hours.

  • porschecollector (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@Robert718 I would agree with the statement you just mad e, but even if a person wants to spend 90k this is the o my one he can physically buy none others on the market to buy at any price

  • Robert718 (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@Roku12 everyone is entitled to their opinion however, no one here but seller knows the reserve so that’s a major assumption and as someone who owns one of these and it took me almost a year to find a nice one with reasonable mileage, I would say that you need to be a very lucky person to find one like this for $75k. A fair deal would be in the 80’s and retail is in mid 90’s in today’s market. PDK models are in your 70-75 range no doubt.

  • porschecollector (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@Roku12 Not the manual trans cars , this is not a 75k car with 15k miles , there isn’t 1 on the market

  • Roku12 (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

This may be a no sale. $75k car at best, but likely a $95k reserve.
