The pinnacle of the 997.2 Carrera model range, the GTS features wider fenders than a standard Carrera, a more powerful 3.8-liter engine, Alcantara interior upholstery, and 19” RS Spyder center-lock wheels. This 2011 Porsche 997.2 Carrera GTS is finished in Carrara White over a Black leather and Alcantara interior and came factory-optioned with a 6-speed manual transmission, Sport Chrono Package Plus, BOSE Surround Sound System, seatbelts in Guards Red, and wheels painted in the exterior color. It was purchased by the seller about 6 years ago and has since been equipped with a dealer-installed Aerokit-style spoiler, upgraded stainless-steel brake lines, and a Sharkwerks exhaust system. Showing under 48k miles on the odometer, this Carrera GTS is now being offered for auction out of New York.

The Carrera GTS measures 44mm wider at the rear fenders than a standard Carrara and features a SportDesign front bumper, side skirts, and a black lower rear valence. This Coupe is finished in Carrara White with optional paint-matched 19” RS Spyder center lock wheels. The sale will also include an additional set of black-painted RS Spyder wheels with grey center locks. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlamps, LED taillights, an electric sunroof, quad exhaust tips, red brake calipers, black stone guard decals, and Carrera GTS lettering on the doors. Under current ownership, an aftermarket Aerokit-style rear wing with a dual-fan decklid was installed and painted by an authorized Porsche dealer. The car was also fitted with a “GTS” rear decklid badge and a GT3 front spoiler to match the Aerokit wing. The original rear decklid with a speed-activated spoiler is included in the sale. The seller adds that the car has been garage-kept during their ownership and new Michelin PS4 tires were mounted in 2021.

The Black leather and Alcantara interior includes an optional three-spoke multifunction steering wheel in leather, heated Sport Seats, Guards Red seatbelts, and a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch. Other accessories include an Alcantara-wrapped gear knob and handbrake, black carpet floor mats, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, BOSE Surround Sound System, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with extended navigation, and stainless-steel door entry guards with model logos. The seller indicates an intermittent fault with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a replacement TPMS controller is included in the sale.

The GTS is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine producing up to 408 HP, a 23 HP increase over a contemporary Carrera S. This example features a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels and has a professionally installed Sharkwerks exhaust system that works in conjunction with the factory Sport Exhaust button.  The seller indicates the car has been routinely serviced during their ownership including an X51 ignition coil kit replacement, new brakes with upgraded stainless-steel brake lines, and a 60k-mile interval service with a drive belt replacement. Additional service records are provided in the gallery.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, tools, an air pump, an additional set of black wheels, a set of 4 grey center lock lugs/nuts, 4+ black center caps, 2 additional Mann air filters for the motor, a replacement air cabin filter, an engine oil change kit, the original decklid, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This GTS fulfilled every bit of 997 ownership expectation I could have had and has never let me down. The dealer knew I was as good as sold when the PASM button clicked on and the sports exhaust valves opened up. The car was purchased with 29,703 miles on the odometer. A lot has changed in my life during the 6 years of ownership, but the car remained as bulletproof and compelling to drive as the day it first came home with me. The car has remained garage-kept and out of the sun/weather for the entirety of its stay with me. The ride remains extremely compliant, and the steering still raises goosebumps all over. Nothing feels as good in your hands as the steering from a 997 dare I say a 997 GTS. The joy is communicated from the road to the palms, down the forearms, and straight through to your spine. The vehicle has been maintained mostly by me with annual oil changes. I'm not sure if I drove more than 5k miles in a single year but the oil changes came annually if not at the 5k miles cadence. From the day I purchased the car, there had been a weird issue with the TPMS going on and off. I purchased the appropriate TPMS in 2019 soon after purchasing the car but even then, the condition continued after the new units were installed. I wasn't really driven mad by this as I have a compressor at home and regularly monitor the air pressure.  I eventually purchased a 997.2 GT3 TPMS controller from Rennlist but never got to install it to test if the controller was the issue. To this day, TPMS will work for about 30 seconds upon starting and moving the car, it will flash off for 30 more seconds, come back for 30, and then stay off for the rest of the ride. The spare controller will come with the sale and as far as I remember when I did the research before purchasing it, it has the same part number as the TPMS controller that came with the GTS. The first modification was one I was hesitant to make but it was one I felt the urge to have. I purchased an aftermarket aero kit from https://www.jacquemond-france.com/uk/ as it was the most highly reviewed and discussed aftermarket available piece. At the time when in was looking to get the rear trunk of the Aerokit in late 2018/2019 Suncoast/Pelican/my-local-Porsche didn't offer the factory piece standalone. It is a replica of the 997.2 Aerokit and has a 2-fan configuration, unlike the 997.1 GT3 Aerokit with a single fan. The wing was painted and installed by Manhattan Motorcars, a Porsche dealer.  I opted for them to install just the "GTS" in black rather than the full "Carrera GTS". The original trunk lid is in mint condition, has been stored in a cool dry place and of course is included in the sale. Passion for sound and real performance is usually innate for all 911 owners. Sharkwerks exhaust bypass had me convinced with the 70-something pounds of weight savings and the ability to maintain the PSE switch mechanism. The exhaust was installed by Bergen Imports in the fall of 2019 and has never had a hiccup. It only added to the razor-sharp edginess while cruising at center tac. I purchased the front lip on the vehicle now from the same shop that installed the bypass. The lip is a piece that came directly off of a 997.1 GT3 and is the appropriate matching front aero piece that would come with the 997.2 GTS Aerokit. I never repainted it as it was my original intention to eventually paint it together with the factory GT2 side skirts and rear lower bumper both came in black from the factory. This would have given the car the complete white-out Aerokit look with the PTS white wheels. Maybe that's something the next owner can do. I replaced the rotors, pads, and mounting hardware in the spring of 2020, with not many miles added afterward. I replaced the previous lines with stainless steel lines as well. Fresh fluids and a brake flush of course. Not a bubble was visible in any corner. Michelin PS4 tires were purchased in 2021 and mounted, balanced, and an alignment was done by a highly reputable Porsche-only shop Formula Motorsports in Long Island City, New York on 6/16/21. In addition to the above, I completed the 60k mile service drive belt replacement and x51 ignition coil kit replacement. This car was the best car I've ever owned. I wish it well and am grateful for the good memories. A lot has changed in my life in the last 6 years, and I must shift my priorities towards building space for my growing family. Happy bidding, I will try to be as available as possible to answer any questions.”

@Shof Hey Shof, thank you for the question and for your anticipation.

To start, I want to mention that no other panels were painted or blended at the time of the wing installation. It was just the wing. The paint work and installation was done through a Porsche dealer, Manhattan Motorcars. The service manager and myself made sure to be explicit about this.

5-6 years later, I could never tell that the wing is not an original piece of the car. People that know the car in my life thought it was an original aerokit car as well.

I would say a 9 because nothing can be perfect.

I thought about putting the original trunk on at some point and getting the sport classic chin spoiler, but seeing the wing over the hips in the rear view never got old and the wing stayed put!

@aarrieta I have the original exhaust in case anyone wants to restore it completely to stock.

Photos will be attached of the original center muffler piece.

I am also including the original splitter to the non Aerokit GTS.

The car can be completely returned to factory if desired.

@VWMinnesota The original rear trunk is included. I wouldn’t call it “body work”.

All the hinges are the same, you just have to switch the fan back onto the original trunk and fasten it back in place

I have not taken it for an inspection since the last time it expired but I am confident that it will pass.
Regarding registration, I usually never street parked the car. I was either going from parking lot to garage. I never felt the urgency to renew anything besides insurance.

In regards to the bumper I believe it is drilled holes. It has been that way since the first owner. Law enforcement in New York State can be eager to stop you for no front plate so I left it the way it was.

I'll check again when I get a chance tomorrow for the sake of being sure.
