The ultimate Carrera of the 997.2 generation, the GTS features a 408-horsepower 3.8-liter flat-six engine as well as widened bodywork, an Alcantara-trimmed interior, 19” center-locking wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, and the Sport Exhaust System. This 2011 example is finished in Black over a matching interior and comes equipped with a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission as well as a limited-slip rear differential lock, Sport Chrono Package Plus, heated Adaptive Sport Seats with Porsche-crested headrests, the BOSE Surround Sound System, clear glass taillights, Dynamic Cornering headlights, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and more. Purchased by the seller in November 2016 and recently sold on PCARMARKET, this Carrera GTS is being offered for auction once again as the initial transaction was not completed.
In contrast to a base 997.2 Carrera Coupe, the GTS version features wider fenders borrowed from the Carrera 4 as well as 19” RS Spyder center-lock wheels derived from the Turbo S. This 2011 example is finished in Black with side model designations in silver, optional clear glass taillights, Dynamic Cornering headlamps, aftermarket side skirts, and a GT3-style lower front lip spoiler. Other details include quad exhaust outlets, a speed-activated rear spoiler, tinted windows, clear side marker lenses, red brake calipers, and an electric sunroof. Some stone chips are noted as well as curb rash on the passenger side rear wheel and a missing front bumper tow hook cap. The seller adds that the driver’s side door and front fender were refinished by a Porsche-certified collision center following the accident shown on the CARFAX report in May 2018.
The Black leather interior features Alcantara upholstery on the seat centers, armrests, door handles, headliner, parking brake lever, and three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Other equipment includes heated Adaptive Sport Seats with Porsche-crested headrests, automatically dimming mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, the BOSE Surround Sound System, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) 3.0 with extended navigation. Some wear is noted on the interior touchpoints, steering wheel, and seat bolsters.
This Carrera GTS is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six that sends up to 408 HP and 310 lb.-ft. of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission and an optional limited-slip differential. Equipped with Sport Chrono Package Plus, it can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 189 MPH. The GTS also comes standard with sport-tuned Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and the Sport Exhaust System. The seller indicates the drive belt tensioner was replaced in June 2019 and a new OEM transmission was installed in December 2019 at just under 22k miles. The tires, brakes, and pad wear sensors were replaced more recently in 2023. Some additional maintenance history is shown on the CARFAX report.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a car cover, wheel locks, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thanks for your interest in my 911. I purchased this beauty in November of 2016 as it was my dream car. I recently became a new mom and so I sadly need to let this beauty go... I did not drive it every day, hence the low miles. It was in an accident once where I was t-boned by a driver crossing over. All repairs were done by a Certified Porsche Collision Center. I also had the entire transmission replaced in December 2019 which is a genuine Porsche part ordered from Germany and cost $20,000. Any basic maintenance such as oil changes and brakes was also done at home by my father who used to be a mechanic. Anything major as stated above has always been done by a professional.”

@OSI I have 2 keys for the car. One button on one of the keys came off yes, but still functional. The tires are all in great condition. Its possible that the shop did the repairs and didn't replace the logo on the calipers. It's just not something I really paid much attention to or noticed.

@AngelinaArabella Ted Nugent won't buy it with air fresheners! ;-)
Hello seller
2 questions:
-the key in the video seemed broken off, is that correct or my eyes? and is there another key ?
- how old are the tires?
And by the way the rear left calliper sows a white porsche lettering at the time of the accident ( you can barely see it. Maybe someone just sprayed them red after.🤷♂️
Thx

@Stevesmithseo Yes of course. Send me a message and I’ll send you my info to meet up.
@seller Thanks for following up with them.
Can I come look at the car tomorrow morning?

@DVanDillon Just FYI I called again this morning and left a message. Still trying to see if they can email me the records for the 2 times they serviced car. Hopefully I hear back today.
@jcbarrios2003 Not a problem at all. It was very nice to meet you! I also appreciate the update of your thoughts on my car.
@Ajmiller81 Hello. The calipers are absolutely not faded at all. As for the decals, I am not sure why some do not have the logo decal, this is just the way I purchased it.
@wilhit10 It did for a long while yes. It has a cover now though. As for your other question, Arroyo and Atturo
@jcbarrios2003, thanks for the comments, it is very helpful. If you’re a Pelican or Rennlist member, please drop me a line there under the same handle, I’d love to discuss some particulars with you. Cheers
@Seller thank you for your time today, thank you for showing me the car and for allowing me to do a test drive. Also, thank you for answering all my questions. For current and further bidders, if your are looking for a car with great styling and mechanically sound, look not further. This is car is for those that are looking to put miles in it and are not afraid of driving because of fear of loosing value over time. Car is mechanically sound and I can imagine that would be a blast to drive daily. Seller seemed very honest and answers match the conditions of the car.
Can you comment on the condition of the brakes. The calipers seem to be faded and missing the Porsche logo
For the community of bidders who may have been involved in the last auction, does anyone know the current service state of this car? The car fax shows really no Porsche Dealer services, and no services at all since 2019. I’d have to assume this car is due for a major, brake flush, plugs, filters etc. Regardless of miles, I believe the service light will illuminate based on time as well as mileage traveled? Any info or advice would be appreciated.
What brand tires are on the car?
Did the car sit outside under a cover?
@seller, Thanks -- that would help if the shop was able to forward you a copy of the records.

@tdb1997 Yes thats exactly it, it was just pure bad luck that the transmission went out. As far as why, thats unknown. I do recall that initially they tried to replace or fix a part of it, but that didn't seem to solve anything, so then the last resort was to just replace the entire transmission, and its been great ever since.
@1974Bronco The transmission going out was just purely bad luck. The part was ordered from Germany and is a genuine part. Not likely to ever happen again.
@jcbarrios2003 I just sent a DM back to you.
@DVanDillon I can probably call the shop and ask for a copy of it.
My understanding of PDK failures is they are usually the result of either distance sensor and/or solenoid failure(s) rather than gross mechanical failure of the gear train itself. The car will indicate it isn’t able to shift into gear with either of these failures. As a result it seems PDK failures on 997.2/991.1 cars can happen somewhat randomly regardless of use, sometimes you just get unlucky.
Saying that, I think it would be helpful to understand what caused this in this instance especially given the accident history. @seller are you able to share any additional information here?
Bid in the amount of $30,000
Why the PDK replacement these thing are pretty much bullet proof. Handling launch, track with no heat issues. Never known one to go out. Was it a result of accident does not appear so?
@Seller I sent you dm regarding inspecting the car in person before the auction ends. I’m local in South Florida. Please let me know how we can arrange an inspection before Wednesday. Thanks
Hello,
Are you able to upload any service records you have? I saw the records from the accident insurance claim, but if you have any other service records, that'd be helpful. For example, it looks like Corsa Technik did some work a couple of times. Thanks in advance.
@xpensivewino Sure. I would assume it’s from extended sun exposure from being parked outside in the Florida heat. I’ve keep the car at my parents mostly the last 3 years due to limited parking where I used to live after I bought my new Porsche SUV a few years back. It now has a cover over it specifically to protect it from the sun since it just sits there. But it’s also a old car so I would imagine the constant years of direct sunlight did make parts of the upholstery appear to look more faded. Partly my fault for not using window shields and all that stuff. As for the small tear in the wheel, its basically cloth so it just has a small rip probably from getting caught on something. I did add a tad bit of glue to the underside of it so it’s not even noticable anymore.
Seller, I followed the car in the last auction and was quite interested. Can you comment on the rip on the steering wheel cover, wear on the drivers seat bolster, and wear on the center console? All of that wear seems excessive for a car of 36k miles. Thanks
@jcbarrios2003 Yes, that is correct.
@seller did last buyer did not come thru with funds?
@SiMOD Hi. You should be able to see it in the photo gallery. It is one of the last few photos :)
Can you upload a picture of the damaged from being T boned? Or email them to me. thank you
