Following Porsche’s outstanding victory at the 2007 Transsyberian Rally, the Porsche Cayenne S Transsyberia was offered from 2009 until 2011 as a limited-edition tribute inspired by its rally racing counterpart. It comes equipped with a 4.5-liter V8 engine from the GTS model along with a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox, air suspension, sport exhaust, and a special trim package. Only 285 examples of the Transsyberia were sold out of a planned production run of 600 vehicles worldwide, and this 2010 example is one of 119 that were imported to North America and only 46 that came finished in the signature Black and Orange color combination. It was purchased by the seller from its original owner out of Texas in 2023 after undergoing extensive preventative maintenance and has since been upgraded with Fabspeed exhaust components and an ECU tune. This rare Cayenne is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey with approximately 111k miles showing on the odometer.

The Transsyberia comes standard with steel skid plates, reinforced underbody protection, and a second two hook point along with contrasting accents for the mirrors, wheels, front grilles, and the upper part of the extended roof spoiler. This example is finished in Black with contrasting Orange accents, side model designations, and 18" Cayenne S wheels with painted wheel arch extensions and new BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires. Other equipment includes optional black roof rails, bi-xenon headlamps, a moonroof, quad tailpipes, and a rear window wiper. The seller indicates the orange accents have been recently refinished and powder coating the wheels. Some fading is noted on the roof and exterior decals, although a new set of decals is included in the sale. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage to the front left side in 2015.

This Cayenne S Transsyberia features a special interior with Black leather and Alcantara upholstery complemented by Orange accents for the trim pieces, instrument dials, seatbelts, floor mats, and steering wheel. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front seats with optional Porsche-crested headrests, a power-adjustable steering column, steering wheel Tiptronic shift buttons, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a Bluetooth phone interface, XM satellite radio receiver, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation. The seller describes the cabin to be in good condition while noting some stains on the seatbelts.

Derived from the Cayenne GTS, the Cayenne S Transsyberia is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 rated at 405 HP and 396 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent through a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox with a unique 4.1:1 final drive ratio and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) with a specific 62% rear torque bias. The vehicle comes standard with a variable center differential, air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a sport exhaust system, and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). This example has also been modified with Fabspeed secondary catalytic converter crossover pipes and an ECU tune operated by a handheld device. The original owner had all service carried out by Park Place Porsche in Dallas up until 2023 with maintenance over the last two years including new upper and lower control arms, suspension bushings, motor mounts, sway bar drop link, headlight housings, brakes, spark plugs, and fluids. Under current ownership, Porsche of Cherry Hill replaced the ignition coils, thermostat, water pump, and performed an oil change.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, sale literature, a remote-control model, a framed dealer wall poster, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “It’s with a mix of reluctance and necessity that I’ve decided to sell my beloved 2010 Porsche Cayenne S Transsyberia. Owning this car has been an incredible experience, and I’ve cherished every moment behind the wheel and showing the vehicle. However, life can be unpredictable, and I’ve recently encountered some unforeseen financial obligations that require my immediate attention. Selling the car will help me address these responsibilities more effectively. This car has been meticulously cared for and is in excellent condition. It has brought me great joy, and I hope it finds a new owner who will appreciate it just as much as I have.”

We would like to inform everyone who was watching this auction that the seller did in fact NOT honor the high bid as the winner just informed us that he has been dodging his calls and when he finally reached him he was given a lame excuse that there was a reserve on this auction which clearly there was not. This seller is permanently banned from the platform and we strongly urge anyone who may decide to buy this or any other vehicle from him in the future to avoid doing so. We are sorry that our community was put through this as it is incredibly unfair to all that participated.

  • sdshack 9 months, 3 weeksago

@Coleweinstein as a TSSY owner I think the car itself deserves a much higher price, IMO. The problem is obviously that the owner has shown himself to be entirely untrustworthy which has certainly hurt the auction.

I can’t imagine he completes the sale at $25k but I wish @Pcar992 the best with finalizing the sale.

Thanks to the PCAR community as to the background on this car. As much as I would love to- and be willing to bid much higher, the issues and lack of explanations as to what is going on puts all of this in the life is short category. I hope I am wrong and a buyer can get this at a fair price. GWLS.

Photo #6 is still in the gallery. As pointed out earlier, it is a picture of a different car from a different auction. @pcarmarket will it be removed / is it the only picture included in error?
    Thanks

@rohitmalik9 appreciate the concern. We kindly ask not to draw conclusions as not all things are as they appear. It is in fact our policy to charge as well as ban a seller for not following through on a transaction in a case where there is pure default. Let’s not use this individual’s auction to discuss site policy, you are more than welcome to click contact us and open a ticket or read our user agreement for yourself. There is a section on seller default.

  • rohitmalik9 9 months, 3 weeksago

@PCARMARKET and other platforms need to step up the vetting process for sellers, especially for no reserve auctions. Here's another one where the seller clearly didn't intend to sell for the ending price, and just didn't respond to the buyer:
    https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/2006-audi-s4-sedan/
In fact, the night before the auction ended, the seller commented something along the lines of "Do not bid! The car is no longer for sale". In the morning, the comment was deleted.
At this point, if a buyer gets a great deal in a no-reserve auction, they should be prepare for the worst, there is simply no accountability for the seller. One improvement that could be made here is that the seller also has to have a card on file that gets charged a penalty, paid to the winning bidder.

@sdshack you did great job sniffing it out. Great service to the 955/957 and TSSY community. Thank you.

@rroot great reply to address the previous BAT auction situation… that’s a lot of words to say that you — multiple times — on BAT used a secondary sham account to artificially jack the price up on your two Cayenne listings in an attempt to extract more money from unsuspecting bidders.

@rroot I noticed that photos before number 58 in the gallery all contain a TX registration tag on the window so I am assuming this was from the previous owners sale posting. Would you say that photos 58 and forward in the gallery to be the most recent representation of the vehicle as it currently sits? Also any response to my questions on the timing chain replacement and differential fluids ?

@pcarmarket - Identical photos attributed to two different VINs? Compare photo 6 in this post with photo 11/119 in post referenced by @bluemonkey. What is going on here???

@rroot - Will the second set of factory 21″ Cayenne Sport alloy wheels be included with the sale? Thank you

@deen001 Ready for a surprise? Photo 6 is NOT even the same car as the one the seller is selling here! The car in photo 6 is a completely different Transsyberia! Go figure!

    Off the charts dishonest.

  • deen001 (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

Has the major timing chain replacement been completed? Any history of differential fluid changes ? Can you upload these. Thanks.

  • deen001 (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

@rroot photo 6 is a photo with the car with no decal on the right of the front bumper. Was the car involved in a front collision which required the front bumper to be replaced ?

I received the original title from a couple that bought the vehicle new. I understand there is a renn-lister saying he owned this, and I hope he comes forward to clarify how he says he owed it when the title was only signed over to one person - me. Unless this renn-lister is the original owner, family member perhaps?

This is another example of things may not be as they seem. The Car Fax shows only 2 owners, and not 3.

  • bluemonkey (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

@deen001 and some of those photos on BaT were recycled from previous seller! yes, previous seller!

  • deen001 (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

Can the seller provide us updated photos? These photos just look to be recycled photos from the last listing from Bringatrailer..

  • deen001 (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

This looks the same Cayenne Trans listed on BAT with the price artificially bid up by 30k or something..

  • bluemonkey (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

This listing states the Seller is the 2nd owner, while the seller actually bought it from someone in 2023 whose for sale ad is still on rennlist that indicate he bought the car in 2022 from the first owner. So the Seller of this auction is the 3rd owner.

  • thusly (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

Agreed with @robbylou. Could you clarify why, despite the auction price being met and an apparent meeting of the minds, the transaction did not proceed? Was there not a willing buyer and willing seller at that point?

  • robbylou (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

@seller Rather than alluding to the complex situation that appeared to be price manipulation in the last auction, why don’t you take the opportunity to tell us what happened and why we should have confidence in bidding in this auction.

  • bluemonkey (registered bidder) 10 monthsago

@rroot Can you post an image of the dash instrument showing current (today’s) mileage?

  • rroot (seller) 10 monthsago

@jeddaily I appreciate that you are addressing this issue and understand the perspective you are coming from. However, I believe there may be a misunderstanding or a different way to interpret the situation.

In complex situations, different people can have varying experiences and viewpoints. I want to avoid a 'he said, she said' scenario, as it often leads to further misunderstandings and doesn't contribute to a constructive resolution.

Agreements and expectations were not fully met by all parties involved, which may have contributed to the current disagreement. I think it's more productive to focus on identifying the specific gaps or miscommunications that occurred and work together to address them moving forward. That’s where Pcarmarket fills the voids left by others
