Introduced in 2009, the second-generation 997 GT3 features a larger 3.8-liter Mezger engine and refined aerodynamic bodywork. With just 654 examples sold in the United States, it remains one of the most coveted modern Porsches. This 2010 example comes finished in Black over matching full leather upholstery and features optional heated Adaptive Sport Seats, Dynamic Cornering Lights, Sport Chrono Package Plus, and Sound Package Plus. Modified with a SharkWerks muffler bypass and a GMG Racing RSR roll cage, this GT3 is now being offered for auction once again on PCARMARKET of Oregon with approximately 27k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to the original 997 GT3, the 997.2 version offers significantly increased downforce with revised front and rear spoilers. This example is finished in Black with optional Dynamic Cornering Lights and standard 19” GT3 center-lock wheels in silver. It rides on Toyo Proxes R888R tires reportedly fitted in 2022, and the brake calipers are said to have been finished in yellow under prior ownership. The CARFAX report notes an accident in April 2022, said to have resulted in a side airbag deployment. Repairs reportedly included replacing and refinishing the front bumper cover, which, along with the hood, has been treated with paint protection film. Detailed images and invoices are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is outfitted with Black full leather upholstery and features heated Adaptive Sports Seats with Driver Memory, Porsche-crested headrests, a fire extinguisher, and interior-colored floor mats. A yellow-finished GMG Racing RSR roll cage and aftermarket pedals have also been installed. Additional options include the Sound Package Plus, a universal audio interface, hands-free Bluetooth connectivity, PCM 3.0 with Extended Navigation, and the Sport Chrono Package Plus which adds a lap timer to the center dashboard.
Rated at 435 HP and 317 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter Mezger flat-six engine drives the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH can be achieved in approximately 4 seconds with a top speed of over 190 MPH. Standard equipment includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and an aftermarket Sharkwerks muffler bypass has been installed. The seller reports a brake pad sensor replacement in August 2021 and a brake fluid flush within the last year. Repairs in 2022 included replacing the steering gear assembly and two wheels. Additionally, the spark plugs, drive belt, transmission fluid, and engine oil were reportedly replaced within the last year.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: "All the repairs have been done by a Porsche-certified body shop and dealer with NEW OEM parts. No frame damage."

@V12HexaTurbo Sorry if I you already answered this question. Why are you selling it?
@Southpaw997 Definitely need it go, but for a fear price. Like I said, whatever I say it will be pointless, just make couple phone you will find out everything I said is true, it’s a truly clean and mechanical problem free 7.2 GT3.

This car has made the rounds online... it seems like there is a disconnect between reserve and true value. I would suspect the relisting and repeated pattern in the comment section aren't doing this car any favors. Lets see how motivated the seller is this time around.

@bphillyer First thing first, thank you so much for the phrase: "And please, everyone, be polite. We all know it works better that way!" I felt heartwarming. The communication is everything at this point.
To answer why I question your comment.
First, I don't have any problem with any other question regarding the car, but from "It appears to me that this discussion re potential undercarriage/frame damage has revealed a few new developments. We seem to have (or not have) non-OEM parts which the seller is unaware of, despite repeated assurances from the seller that all is OEM."
I think you should take your time and look through all the documents that I listed. I already provided all the details I have about the car, as I said in another comment, there is no frame damage on the car because first there are no frame repairs, and second the alignment sheet was on the spec, if there is a frame damage then Porsche will have no way to re-align the car, period. If you are a serious buyer and have followed this car action long enough you will know I already talked about this so many times.
Secondly, from what "I was surprised about", let me please ask you one question: when you into a car repair, is the shop going to explain all the components that are used differently than what "originally from the factory?" In other words, are they gonna tell you:" Hey BTW we have used 39 bolts from different suppliers than the 2010 manufacturing, and we gonna have different brands of this or that"? I think the answer is no, as long as they told me it's all new OEM parts and restored to the OEM spec I'm good. Manufacturing and supply chains do change along with the vehicle life cycle, I did an engineering degree in college, so that's where my understanding comes from. Hope that makes sense. English is not my first language anyway. ^_^
Thirdly, Pcar does not delete anything unless they are very offensive or does not make sense. People are trying to comment nonsense to make the car look really bad, and because it is the internet people do surprisingly take those words and make the wrong notes. That's where they step in and make it right.
Last but not least, yes you are spending six figures on cars, I do not question that at any moment. However, I have seen so many people talk to me that he is VERY serious about my car and just disappeared. If you are really into this car, please spend your time and make a call to the shop or dealer to ask if there is frame damage or something. Because any words I say will be "I'm trying to have the car sold" or "is there anything hidden"? people only believe what they wanna believe, so making a call and asking about it will be not a bad idea. Plus making bids and maybe even asking me to take a most recent walk-around video will be much helpful. On top of that have I mentioned I already updated the most recent PPI I did?
Overall thanks for the calm conversation.
@V12HexaTurbo
Well, to answer your question about where I might be coming from:
1. I’m advocating for everyone here when I suggest that PCAR not remove comments pertaining to the underside of your car.
2. I am interested in buying your car, but not before all surprises are uncovered.
You, yourself admit:
“[I don’t know] why the driver-side and passenger-side lower control arms look different. I don’t know how to explain the situation....”
Good for you! Based on people’s QUESTIONS, you then "walk into dealer and investigate all the reasons. Then post all the info I found associated with the confusion.”
Someone asked a valid question and you immediately went to the shop to figure it all out.
You answered a hard question; one which you didn’t originally have an answer for!
Thank you. Good job. You helped me learn more about your car.
Now, here’s where I’m coming from:
People may have other questions about your beautiful car.
Again, you may not have the answers easily at hand and you may need to go out and do more research. This is good for everybody. Everybody wins.
What I’m saying is this: If I’m going to spend six-figures on your car, I want ALL the questions to be answered, whether they be mine or other people’s.
I am trying to help you help me. That’s all.
You have a beautiful car which I’m interested in buying, but I’d like to do so without being personally referred to as “disrespectful” when asking my own valid questions.
And, do you think it may be possible that other things could be at issue with the car; things which you might again be unaware of?
V12, you can’t have it both ways. You can’t answer some questions, while calling other people names because they ask you questions you would rather not address.
That’s called “having your cake, and eating it too.”
GLWA!
@CaptBob Repair was done around two years ago, and shop was about 1 and half hours away from my location. So unfortunately there are few pictures to non I can take during the repair, also I think most people don’t have access of the shop due to insurance policy ( at least that’s what I heard all the time). The crash pictures I already post all I have, from driver side to passenger side. It does not look that bad at all. I have it listed on BAT also, and I believe all the pictures was the same as from BAT. Of course with additional information I collected today. Please look through everything and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks a lot for positive feedback!
@lamacan please be educated and check Polar911’s comments. FYI 996 parts number appears on the control arm is actually doesn’t match the parts number in there order system. 981 number shown on the video is actually the new number. The 997* shows on the screen is actually the old parts number. Learned something everyday to me also.
@polar911 yes, I had same question throw to the dealer, and they said it’s superseded parts, it will perform the same without replacing other side.
@bphillyer I don’t understand what’s you’re concern? The question simple as “why the driver side and passenger side lower control arm looks different.” I don’t know how to explain the situation so I walk into dealer and investigate all the reasons. Then I post all the info I found associated with confusion. My surprise was from I don’t know why there was parts different, not I’m not aware of it’s “aftermarket parts”. If you are serious buyer, and I believe so, please take time and read thoroughly before making any comments. I already explained all the concerns. Like I said I don’t understand what you come from, if you are serious buyer I think it’s fear and responsible your money. Please call the shop that performed the repair to verify if there are any frame damage. As all my respect, straight on calling peoples car have frame damage is very disrespectful move. Thanks
@lamacan I don’t know why is different parts, there are so many parts that associate with repair, I don’t think body shop have to go through everything with me right? All I know and all I need to know that’s it’s done by Porsche with OEM parts.
And please, everyone, be polite. We all know it works better that way! GLWA!
@PCARMARKET It appears to me that this discussion re potential undercarriage/frame damage has revealed a few new developments. We seem to have (or not have) non-OEM parts which the seller is unaware of, despite repeated assurances from seller that all is OEM.
In view of this, the necessity for continued investigation has gotta be a priority for any serious buyer.
With that being said, I own this same car (without full leather, and a few other differences) and would love to add another 997.2 GT3 to my collection. This makes me an interested, serious buyer. Plus, I have purchased from PCAR before and know them to be fair. We need to hash this out. And this the place to do it, no matter how dramatic or uncomfortable it all feels.
My gut feeling on this car, especially in view of the vagaries our discussion continues to reveal, is that a serious buyer is just gonna have to fly in and inspect the car for themself. Otherwise, we’re just going to keep going around and around in this he-said/she-said game.
In view of what I’ve said above, I vote for continuing our good discussion until all hidden details are ironed out.
Just my two cents.
Could be an opportunity to pick up a Mezger GT3 at a reasonable price point as long as the subsequent repairs are well documented and completed by reputable shops. I'm very interested! More photos of the damage and in process repairs would be helpful.
all these arms are interchangeable 9x1 9x6 9x7 they do have different bushing designs which does raise the question? why not do both sides. but if thats not dealer service protocol thats they it gets done
what u should actually be looking at is the other side. i dont recall a 997.2 having 996 part number on lower control arms. if i remember correctly 997 numbered arms showed up in 2008. only the RS had 996 arms obviously different design.
@lamacan that is factory arm and the correct arm with the correct manufacturer marking the factory part number is on top side. the supersession is actual a 981 #.
@lamacan and i am not suggesting you are being disingenuous. it sounds like you actually do not know.
@V12HexaTurbo actually the stamp does mean everything. you showing a computer screen with a part number that has no connection to the actual part on the car means nothing. i would get the car back on the lift. if it doesn't have a porsche part number stamped on it, its not a porsche part. simple as that.
Is there some reason you cannot just share the receipts for the work that was done? I think that would help clear up some of our confusion. You posted an estimate that says it’s for non-OEM parts. I’m not trying to cause trouble and I have never commented on any of your prior sales efforts. I’m just trying to understand the state of repairs.
@lamacan with all the respect, please review my short video, thanks. https://youtube.com/shorts/y-zTnI7xQs0?si=uH7Ef1G7lKcHzVdF
@lamacan it’s ordered from Porsche dealer through Porsche parts system with invoice . I don’t know why are you still questioning? Stamps doesn’t represent anything. I have already provided all the documents to support my parts, please provide your side of evidence showing they put aftermarket parts on this. I’ll happy to take it to the dealer and talk to them.
@V12HexaTurbo with all due respect, photo 124 shows an OEM LCA. photo 123 is definitely not an OEM LCA. it has THK stamped on it, which is a German/Czech supplier.
@lamacan turns out it’s all brand Ned OEM parts from Porsche, it’s a superseded parts. Please check my new comment
https://youtube.com/shorts/y-zTnI7xQs0?si=uH7Ef1G7lKcHzVdF Here is video of my short dealer visit, if you guys have any questions please contact Porsche Beaverton and ask them to verify the info. Thanks
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
@pnash22 okay, I found out what’s happened! Turnout that particular part is a supersede part, I just ran into Porsche dealer parts department and service to confirmed that. I also have video and certified letter from Porsche to prove that the parts will have zero impact on the performance. Plus the parts was ordered from Porsche dealership and it’s brand new OEM part. Update pictures of the letter will post down below, video will go live when I hit home. Thanks to point out the problem.
@lamacan Hey guys! Thanks for all the comments! WOW and I’m surprised too, let me make couple phone calls and find out!
@pnash22 one says THK on it which is an aftermarket supplier. the other one has oem 996 part number stamp.
can you comment on the different looking rear control arms?
The left one looks OEM and the right one looks different.
Thank you
Bid in the amount of $50,000
@apexrisk Yes sir! Thank you so much for taking the time and look through the details. As I mentioned, this car has been repaired by one and only one Porsche-certified body shop here in Oregon. The mechanical parts have been done by a Porsche dealer(which is next door) and calibrated to the spec with all brand-new OEM parts. It might sound like I'm been fishy, but I called the body shop right after the last auction and tried to schedule a frame inspection, first, they are 5 months out on the schedule, second the manager was asking why I wanted to do so since there is no frame repair, she felt pointless. I'm not gonna tell this part of the story because it's the internet, people are trying to make nonsense on the common. If I find another body shop people still gonna say: oh it's suspicious, why is this guy not going to the original body shop... and so on. I deeply appreciate people like you can go through all the auction details and take time to go through what they were buying for. It's all the respect you can show to the people who auction their cars and your money too. Thanks for your participation. Please let me know if you have any questions.
@apexrisk Apologies, just found the old auction and more details of the accident. I doubt the shop will share the receipts with me, but I’ll try tomorrow!
I’m definitely a “real buyer”, but also would love some more info on the repair. Was there suspension damage? Airbags deployed? How many body panels were repaired/replaced? Posting damage photos and receipts would be super helpful in showing transparency and honesty, and increase the likelihood of this car finally going to a new home.
I’m happy to call the shop, if you share their details, but it would be more productive to just include what has been requested.
@PCARMARKET seller is asking me to call the repair shop. I am asking to know what shop that is. If that is unreasonable, feel free to remove my comment.
@KHJ we cannot allow this to continue. You and the seller disagree, the seller is willing to accommodate any reasonable requests and questions. The concern was raised and answered. Further comments on this topic will be removed. We kindly ask you refrain from commenting further
@b00sted_porsche Because this particular person likes to destroy people's listings by commenting nonsense. He was the guy who questioned my driving style in the video on my last auction and so many people called him BS after it. I'm sorry, it's a rough world. If you have any questions about the frame please call the shop that performed the repair which I list under to ask if this car has any frame damage. Thanks for the common.
@KHJ Like I said, please respect people's listings. If you are a true bidder you should look through all the listing photos and you will find all the info you need. Please stop commenting there will be frame damage and non-OEM parts, if you are a true buyer why don't you spend a little time calling the shop that performs the repair and ask them if there is any frame damage? Rather than waste your time here and commenting nonsense. I remember that you were questioning my driving style back in the day you are not a true buyer and not a true driver. This kinda car Is not made of plastic and I have faced no problem in my past ownership.
@seller cars can still have a clean title with frame damage (I've seen it before)... The hostility and the continuous note about the frame may have some concerned....
@seller Friendly feedback here. If you actually want a stranger to wire you six figures without seeing the car in person, you need to be receptive to questions about the car. Anytime a GT car is involved in an accident, frame damage comes into question. Taking a hostile approach will only result in another RNM auction.
Bid in the amount of $6,997
@V12HexaTurbo who did the collision repair and can you post the receipts?
@sportscarguy3 thanks for a positive comment, yes this is a astonishing car.
@KHJ where is the frame damage if there are even no frame repair whatsoever? Why don’t you go ahead and call the repair center and ask them about it if your are true bidder? Thanks
Have you done any work to resolve the questions from the past 2 RNM auctions? Note that I don’t really think telling people they don’t need to ask about the frame because the car would be ‘totaled by law’ after its previous accidents is a comforting argument. What law is that? And what law enforcement agency did the inspection to check?
Bid in the amount of $2,500
Bid in the amount of $1,911
Man, I really miss and regret selling my 2010 Porsche GT 3
This handsome Porsche looks very much like mine
would incredible machine to drive
This beauty with low miles. Should be highly covered and do well here on P Car market.
Good luck all
Bid in the amount of $997
@cheungms thanks, for the market from two months ago.
@Orangevespa there are already pictures posted. Please check the auction in detail. Thanks
Can you share pictures of the accident damage? Hitting a stationary object can mean a lot of things…would be helpful to know the extent of that event was??
Thanks to all the bidders or anyone watching, the pass auction did not turn out so great, so I decided to hold for better weather and season for re-listed here—this time I have done a fresh PPI for anyone interested in the vehicle. To make the auction transparent, I have attached a PPI report that lists what car will be needed for service. If you have any questions please contact the shop listed on the PPI, the phone number, and all the contact info listed on the PPI sheet. Again, for someone mistakenly saying to do a frame inspection, There is no frame damage since the title is CLEAN. If there is a frame damage this car will be TOTLED BY LAW. Please let me know if you have any questions and for now please enjoy the auction.
