Finished in Carrara White over a Black interior, this 2010 Porsche 997.2 Carrera 4S Coupe was generously appointed at an original sticker price of over $113k including optional painted side skirts, a painted rear center console, illuminated door sills in carbon fiber, multifunction steering wheel in carbon fiber, the Bose High-End Sound Package, Sport Chrono Package Plus, and a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission. It has also been fitted with body-color Fuchs-style wheels dressed in new Falken tires. Acquired by the current owner in August 2022, this Carrera 4S is now being offered for auction out of Pennsylvania while showing just over 80k miles on the odometer.

The 4S model features wider bodywork than a standard Carrera as well as red-painted brake calipers and a unique reflector band between the taillights. This Coupe is finished in Carrara White with optional painted side skirts, Dynamic Cornering Lights, and aftermarket 19” Fuchs-style wheels with body-colored centers. The car rides on a set of new Falken Azenis tires. A custom red “S” emblem has been added to the rear along with clear Euro-style side marker lenses. The seller indicates an older layer of clear paint protection film was professionally removed from the front end during their ownership and the front bumper cover was replaced and painted along with the mirror covers. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black interior features an optional Carrara White painted center console as well as a heated multifunction steering wheel and illuminated door sill guards in carbon fiber. Other options include heated front seats, the Parking Assist system, the Bose High-End Sound Package, a Navigation Module for PCM, a Bluetooth phone interface, an XM Radio receiver, and a Sport Chrono stopwatch dial mounted atop the dashboard.

This 997.2 derives up to 385 HP from a naturally aspirated and direct fuel-injected 3.8-liter flat-six engine. All four wheels are driven by way of a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. Using the launch control function and Sport Plus mode included with the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus, the Carrera 4S accelerates from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.3 seconds. The seller notes the engine lid fails to open with the electronic switch and the check engine light is present on the dashboard, although no mechanical faults have been identified.

This sale will include a clean title, a window sticker, owner’s manuals, and a toolkit.

The seller would like you to know: “I have owned the car for about a year, I haven't used it nearly as much as I would have liked to. It's a great car, likely to go up in value over time.  I simply have too many cars, and am thinning the stable down a bit.”

@lukefromCH - that cold start was in a new & mostly empty metal building FWIW. I’ve never had a blackstone test, as I have not changed the oil, and it’s only been driven 5-600 miles in the past year. It’s due for a change and whatever else is required at 80k miles.

@Bm911rs -bumper cover was mangled, on drivers side, maybe curb damage or ran into something. It probably was repairable, but wasn’t going to be happy with it. I’ll post a pic, if possible.

@joseph.cousins Was the car in any sort of collision? just wondering the reason for body work.

@Emh813 -I have only owned it for 12 months, during that time, it sat around a lot, mostly waiting for the body shop to get it in at first. The front bumper cover was replaced, I had the wheels painted & passenger mirror at the same time. Then new tires were installed.. A PA state inspection was performed, which checks brakes, tie rods, tread depth etc. Then it was off to the detailing shop to remove paint protection film, and a very thorough detailing. That’s all I have had done to it so far. It has only been driven 5-600 miles during my ownership. It’s due for an oil change and whatever else is recommended for 80k miles.

  • Emh813 (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Thank you for the response. It would help, if you told us what services you did perform in the last year or so that you owned the car?

  • joseph.cousins (seller) 1 year, 3 monthsago

@Emh813 -I did not receive any service records with the car at all. Just the verbal statement that the oil was changed recently. It’s hard to say about the pdk service, the previous owners may have had it done. A Porsche dealer would likely be able to do a master inquiry to find out if work was performed at a dealership. I haven’t taken it to a dealership for anything at this point.

@srodgrg - I have no idea, nobody ever really “needs” a 911, so it probably wound up sitting around someone’s garage, same as it did in mine!

  • joseph.cousins (seller) 1 year, 3 monthsago

In the driving videos, the oil pressure gauge appears to be nearly pegged, so I am not sure how anyone would consider this “low oil pressure”. As far as oil consumption, the seller when I bought it stated that it had been changed recently, and it’s now due for an oil change as it’s been a year. Consumption wise, I have only driven it 5-600 miles during my year of ownership, short trips mostly. I have not added oil during that time, and as you can see it needs to be added to or preferably changed at this point.

  • srodgrg (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Any explanation for the 4 1/2 year gap in usage, from 4/2016 to 11/2020 with only about 1200 miles accumulated?
    Thanks!

  • Bm911rs 1 year, 3 monthsago

Low oil level + low oil pressure, have there been any signs of oil consumption issues? what was the oil usage throughout your ownership? This could be a scary prospect especially with these cars being fairly common victims of consumption issues.

  • Emh813 (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Thank you for the Video. The pressure seems to be a bit on the low side, this is most likely due to the engine oil being low as well. No services or records are mentioned. Do you have any, and when was the last oil service specifically? Also, was the 60k PDK service performed?

  • joseph.cousins (seller) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Please see the videos uploaded today for clarification on the gauge questions. Everything appears to functioning properly, and the check engine light is still off after being driven for 5-6 miles to do the videos.

  • MiltonMinty (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

I appreciate @Emh813 close attention to detail and line of questioning. Looking forward to clarification from the seller.

  • Emh813 (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

And oil temp and pressure? Does the temp gauge work?

  • joseph.cousins (seller) 1 year, 3 monthsago

@Emh813 pic no. 111 shows the code P0175, I believe, then pic 112 says it’s rich mixture on right bank. I erased the code, and it has not come back on yet. This car has only been drive 5-600 miles in the past year, so driving it may help, I’m not sure.

  • Emh813 (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Also, can you please post a picture, or even better a video of the oil pressure up to temp. The pic of the cluster seems to be showing cold oil temp and 1.5 bar pressure.

  • Emh813 (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

    Why the check engine light?

  • joseph.cousins (seller) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first PCarMarket auction. This is my personal car that I paid taxes on and planned to keep long term. Priorities change, and it's difficult to keep up with my four 911's, so I have to thin them down a bit. We are a small dealer northeast of Pittsburgh, PA, and mostly do this for our hobby. We only buy/sell cars that we would happily keep for ourselves. I have been a Porsche club member for over 30 years, and am available for questions, intending on total transparency for this auction. Don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks for looking. Joe
