The original version of Audi’s flagship mid-engine sports car, the R8 Coupe 4.2 FSI Quattro features an aluminum alloy 32-valve V8 delivering 420 HP through a rear-biased Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Equipped with a desirable factory 6-speed gated manual transmission, this 2009 example is finished in Ice Silver Metallic with Apollo Silver side blades over a Luxor Beige leather interior. Accompanied by a consistent service history, this R8 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia with approximately 39k miles showing on the odometer.
Mounted to an aluminum alloy spaceframe chassis, the R8’s bodywork is characterized by a low, wide stance, distinctive side air intakes, a transparent engine cover, and an automatically deploying rear spoiler. This example is finished in Ice Silver Metallic with Apollo Silver side blades and rides on 19” 5-double-spoke wheels wrapped in a mixed set of Bridgestone and Michelin tires, of which the rear are dated 2023. Equipment also includes xenon headlights, LED taillights and daytime running lights, heated power-adjustable mirrors, and an aluminum fuel filler lid. The interior features 10-way power-adjustable heated sport seats upholstered in Luxor Beige leather and suede, complemented by matching carpets. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, a knurled aluminum gear knob, aluminum pedal covers, and R8-branded door sills. A Sony touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and a rear-view camera has been installed.
Factory-rated at 420 HP and 317 lb-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 4.2-liter FSI V8 engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transaxle and a Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system. The car is equipped with double wishbone front and rear suspension, Servotronic electromechanical power steering, and floating cross-drilled brake discs with 8-piston calipers in front and 4-piston calipers at the rear. The CARFAX report indicates a total of 30 service history entries. The seller notes the rear spoiler wiring was repaired in December 2021, followed by the replacement of the rear deck lid lock actuator, six spark plugs, and ignition coils in March 2022, and an oil change in March 2024.

What a great car. I just happened to drive by a Mugello blue one of these a minute ago and it still turns my enthusiast head EVERY TIME. Audi absolutely nailed the design of these cars from the beginning and I really want one of these in my garage.

@jscho Here is a list of major items done already. Drives like a dream clutch feels perfect with our experience with R8s these clutches are amazing from factory. Records indicate that the rear spoiler wiring was repaired in December 2021 and the rear decklid lock actuator was replaced in March 2022. New rear tires were installed in 2023. Six spark plugs and ignition coils were replaced in March 2022 and the oil was most recently changed in March 2024
Overall a nice low mileage gated six speed V8 R8 thats becoming tough to find these days
What major services or replacements have been done recently? Has the clutch been replaced? If it hasn't, how does it feel?
@StuM funny you mention this. My techs say this EVERY TIME we get a V8 R8 here in the shop that this sounds better than V10.
These are such great driving cars for the money
Our first of three R8’s was much like this; the original V8 with m/t. Actually a very nice driver and I always thought the V8 sounded better than my later V10’s. We traveled half way across the country to get exactly the one we wanted, at the time. Great cars. GLWA

@JRitt Good Morning! Yes BC Racing coilovers are still on and it rides absolutely amazing with them. We actually had 2 other customers order and install those BC Racing coilovers on their R8s when they were here for manual conversions.
Since this R8 was purchased to be retailed in GA, we have strict emissions laws so we had to remove to aftermarket exhaust and install factory one to pass Georgia emissions.

You guys know that when you buy a car, you're essentially buying the seller. As a previous (I think the most recent) buyer of a gated R8 from this seller, I have to tell you that not only did he deliver an excellent car, precisely represented, he also provided the absolute best remote car buying experience known to man. Not only did he get me instant docusign paperwork to execute the deal, he personally arranged (obviously enclosed) shipping and the car was in my driveway in Columbus Ohio...The. Next. Day. They overnighted the title, and the car beat it. He's had 10x the number of R8's that I have and he knows them inside and out. In my scenario, I just found a smoking deal and jumped on it, so I wasn't able to do as much due diligence as one would typically like, but I did go all the way through the car and found that it was 100% dead on perfectly represented. His representation is not relative to other sports or super cars, but to dozens of other R8's that he's personally owned and worked on.
@TexasBear "Acardash" makes an R8 specific wireless carplay unit that is THE ONLY move for Gen1 R8's. It's a direct replacement, looks factory, retains factory steering wheel controls, yes even in carplay, and retains the factory wheel and VOLUME KNOB, makes the screen bigger much clearer DRASTICALLY improving the backup camera. They even make an overkilled carbon fiber version of it.
