This 2009 Porsche 997.2 Targa 4S is finished in GT Silver Metallic over a Black and Stone Grey leather interior and features a 3.8-liter flat-six engine paired with a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission. The car was originally specified for Tourist Delivery at the Porsche factory in Germany and optioned with heated Adaptive Sport Seats, Porsche-crested headrests, silver seatbelts, a heated multifunction leather steering wheel, a storage compartment lid with an embossed model logo, the Interior Aluminum Look Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, LED door pocket lighting, navigation for PCM, dynamic cornering bi-xenon headlights, Sport Chrono Package Plus, and 19” Carrera Classic wheels. Previously registered in California, this rare 997.2 Targa 4S is now being offered for auction out of Oregon with approximately 36k miles showing on the odometer.
The 997.2 Targa models were offered exclusively in all-wheel-drive configuration featuring wider bodywork than a contemporary Carrera and a reflector band between the taillights. They are distinguished from all other models by a unique sliding glass roof system, chrome accents along the roofline, and an opening rear hatch window. This 2009 example is finished in GT Silver Metallic and rides on optional 19” Carrera Classic wheels with new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Other equipment includes optional dynamic cornering bi-xenon headlights, LED taillights, auto-dimming mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, quad exhaust tips, a rear window wiper, rear parking sensors, and red Porche-branded brake calipers. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report that shows moderate-to-severe damage sustained in 2014.
The cabin is appointed with two-tone Back and Stone Grey leather upholstery accented by optional aluminum-look trim pieces and instrument dials. It features optional Adaptive Sport Seats with Porsche-crested headrests, silver seatbelts, a heated multifunction leather steering wheel, PDK shift buttons, a storage compartment lid with an embossed model logo, an aluminum footrest, a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch, the Bose High-End Sound Package, a navigation module for Porsche Communication Management (PCM), automatic climate control, cruise control, a power-operated sunshade, and LED door pocket lighting.
Rated at 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque, the direct fuel-injected 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers power to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. The car features the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus which includes Sport and Sport Plus settings for the powertrain, a launch control function, and a variable stiffness button for Porshe Active Suspension Management (PASM). The CARFAX report shows 30 maintenance history entries including service at Porsche Monterey in July 2024.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a fantastic example of a Targa. The interior is the most leather that we have seen in a 997 and is it in amazing shape given the mileage! If you're looking to get into a modern classic Porsche - this is a great one to look at.”

Beautiful car. I think the accident history held it back. It did for me as well as being on the wrong side of the country.
Best to all bidders, a vigorous sprint at the end
Never mind...was confusing this with a Vancouver car.
@BlueridgeBear bold move at the end!
By the way, is this is in USD or Canadian dollars?
@dino70089 That's dirt cheap... None for sale and very rare. This should do a lot more

@dino70089 Front bumper is fully covered. Hood and fenders are partial
@gpmotors So the entire hood isn't covered by PPF? Normally you'll see the edge of the PPF but I can't make it out in the photos.

@BlueridgeBear Panels appear all original. The clear coat looks exactly like an OEM car would (I looked at it closely side by side with an original paint 997 we have). There is a half clear bra on the front end. Windshield has minor pitting as a 36k mile car would - nothing out of the ordinary.
@Ram3k OEM spec. The car looks like it's never been taken apart. And frankly - I don't think it has been.

@Seller - How are gaps between panels ?
Bid in the amount of $28,250
Pcar, Please separate the Dealer (for sale) cars from the Private (for sale). This would be a very simple thing to do, and it may help in your final sales.
@ Seller Do body panels appear as original?Any clearcoat peeling, PPF? Windshield chips. # of log book ignitions? DME report ?
How do we find previous owner?
Hello all. I've received multiple inquiries regarding the accident on the carfax - as expected. Obviously we are here to sell a car in full disclosure and not hide anything. We purchased the vehicle from a dealer auction with no information regarding the accident. I took the matter into my own hands and based off of the car being in the reno, NV area, tried calling around to local body shops to get an idea of what happened. Unfortunately, since it happened in 2014, I struck out with no luck. Either the body shop had no record of this car being there, or their systems had been updated in the past and no longer carry invoices from 10+ years ago. That being said, I've looked hard at the car, under the car as well, and determined that the damage reported consists of just paint work. When you look at the paint meter readings - they read fairly consistent, minus the engine lid being original, which makes me believe that the car has had a respray. Going up and down the panels with a paint meter, I could not find any places with excessive filler indicating an accident had happened. The paint looks fantastic and whoever did the work, did an amazing job. All the panels match on the car, the clear coat looks OEM, and when you put it next to another GT Silver car - they look the same. We have seen it before where a car suffered some sort of paint damage, whether its something got on the paint and made it fall apart to tree sap destroying the paint beyond being able to be repaired with a paint polish. And often enough when something like this happens, people go through insurance to have the work done as that is what insurance is for - therefore shows up on the carfax.

Now that’s what I call driving it like you stole it!
Would appreciate a DME report for over revs even though a PDK trans.
Logbook data for number ignitions to see average trip miles?
Well speced example, a shame about the accident history...

@gpmotors
Build sheet or sticker?
@seller - appreciate the targa top operation video - looks good.
Looking forward to other videos, and to response to questions re the accident.
Thx
Thank you for the quick response!
@Ram3k Video is coming soon
@Jessannjoh video uploaded
A video of the top operation would be very helpful
Bid in the amount of $25,911
@gpmotors - looks like you bought the car from the original owner.
Did the seller not have any info ?
Is there no way to dig up some info on this ?
As you know the issue of the “severe” accident on Carfax doesn’t go away and will be the same issue when the buyer now goes to sell in the future.
Many thx & GLWTA
@gpmotors - will you be posting videos of cold start, targa top opening and closing, and a driving video ?

@gpmotors Can you please post the Monroney sticker you had up on your website?

Unfortunately I do not have information on the carfax report. However when you look at the paint meter readings I just uploaded - you'll notice they read relatively low for being a "damaged car". Factory paint normally reads 3-5 mils. In this case reading 9-12 it makes me believe that the car possibly was just repainted and was not in an accident. We've seen this before. I've looked extensively underneath the vehicle and cannot find any evidence of a severe accident. The paintwork done on the car is flawless and looks brand new.

Damage to 3 of 4 sides appears to be serious. Can you describe the extent of the damage and extent of the repair? It has over 10k miles since repair. What effect does the damage have to operation?
Given this Carfax statement, I think it's appropriate to disclose the actual extent of the damage, which should already have been done when listed here.
Severe: Severe damage usually affects multiple components of the vehicle and is likely to compromise
the vehicle's operation and/or safety.
Can you show the targa top from the top and also show the targa with the roof open please.
Wow, I think this is the highest MSRP 997.2 Targa I've seen. It's quite rare even to see the full leather interior on these, let alone all of the other bits.
